did you get a similar deal when you first took out virgin? that's just how it works. we were all new customers once and we all got preferred rates when we signed up

It was 13, but it's changed to the normal price now. I was about to get back on the phone as I've only just spoke to them and convinced them to scrap the 3 quid price rise.

Wonder if it was meant to come into play tomorrow when people aren't able to cancel their current contract? When it says new customers, does that mean new new, or just out of contract, old customers?

Or maybe it was just a mistake.

I can't see this deal, but they do have another deal on the Uswtich site for 100mb and phone for £24.25 a month or 290.99 for 12 months which doesn't sound too bad.

this is a good deal. I signed up to the same deal last xmas when it was £22.99 all in for 50mb and this is now going up by £3 next month. I will be calling them for sure.

Would be a good deal if we could actually find it? Could OP please double check and repost link, thanks!

Weirdly, if you follow the link for that deal it comes up at £408 for the year! :-(

Yep, its all up the creak.

No - no idea where this price has come from. Maybe you've included some cashback? I'm a longstanding customer of VM and I always challenge any price rise. I am currently paying £13 per month for 50mb broadband and line rental. Virgin are notorious for offering discounts to existing customers who haggle.

hello... mrimac94???

op, can you fix the link or something.

i cant find the deal!

how long have you been with virgin media?

Just looks like a mistake when advertising their "new" all-in-one price, they missed adding £19.

About 15 years. I've always paid around £20 a month. This year they threatened to put it up to £35. I phoned to complain but they only offered me £30. I then got a phone call after I registered to transfer my number to BT and they offered me £17 a month for 12 months along with a £50 credit bringing it down to £13.

Is that £13 inc line rental, or line rental on top?

Rules changed today.

All broadband suppliers have to show the price including line rental if it's not optional.

I'm paying 54 pounds for phone line with talk anytime plus, 70mb Internet, 2 tivo boxes and m+ TV package

By this January a price rise to top it off....and by the way they can if it's in their terms and condition...nowt the ofcom can do.

Virgin is rubbish until your out of contract..

I had a deal with them for £25.99 a month for 100mb for 12 months then £42 for the last 6 months..

They sent me a letter they were putting prices up and I could luckily end my contract early..

I called to cancel and 2 weeks after cancelling I received a call from their retentions department and now have 200mb for £26 for 12 months..

It is a shame they don't do similar deals when signing up to them always good for 12 months and a rip off for 6.

Can anyone give me some haggling tips?

I'm paying £29.99 for phone & broadband, and have 6 weeks left of my contract. My Wifi has been garbage for 6 months & I'm now on Superhub 3, which is just as bad.

I want to stay, but last time I threatened to leave, they said 'fine' & offered me Jack.

I don't know if it will work with virgin but with sky when they don't offer anything or refuse a new customer deal I say I am leaving and I start making the leave happen. They usually call within the notice period and offer something.

Terrible- I have just signed up to 200mb and the network in my area has 'utilisation' (read: contention) issues- in other words the network is nowhere near able to deliver 200mb at peak times I get 20. I get 45 on my BT. I am cancelling, Google Virgin and 'utilisation' to see the vast numbers of horror stories.

It's called price gouging and it is, ethically speaking, a pretty crappy practice. Not sure why some people feel the need to offer justification for companies who engage in this sort of activity, but it's a very anti-consumer attitude.
