M100 Fibre Broadband

  • Average download speeds of 108Mbps
  • Average upload speeds of 6Mbps
  • For busy households with 5-9 devices

Your price will not increase during minimum period except for broadband only packages.

New customers only. SERVICES ONLY AVAILABLE IN VIRGIN MEDIA NETWORK AREAS. Subject to survey, network capacity and credit check. A minimum period applies to the services, please check basket for details.

What is a minimum period? When you take a service from us you will be agreeing to commit to taking that service for a minimum amount of time (e.g. 12 or 18 months). We call this a minimum period, minimum term or minimum commitment period but they mean the same thing. Please check your basket for details of the minimum period that applies to the services you have chosen.

What if I cancel or move home? If you cancel during the minimum period you may need to pay an Early Disconnection Fee, including where you move to a property outside of the Virgin Media Network area – this is because you will be asking to cancel your services early. The Virgin Media network does not cover all of the UK – please use our post code checker by clicking here to check availability. You can find out more details on the Early Disconnection Fee and process by visiting the Legal Stuff section of the website here. For the full terms and conditions please click here.

I hate these deals been a customer for 12years
Finally left VM last month. I'll be back after 18 months for one of these deals. Loyalty doesn't pay.
Just swap into your partners name, job done

Unless you’re single..

Edit... By swap I mean Close your Account and get your partner to start a fresh account/new deal!

I was literally just looking at this!!! Can’t get it though as my contract …I was literally just looking at this!!! Can’t get it though as my contract finishes beginning of December and apparently you can’t be a VM customer for 12 months.

Phone Virgin Media a few weeks before your contract expires and state firmly that you wish to end your service on this date.
State in no uncertain terms that you're leaving. DO NOT simply threaten to leave.

They will undoubtedly ask you a few questions such as "will you be getting internet from another service provider?" etc.

Research the best monthly fibre-optic broadband price for your post code and inform VM that you will be switching over to this ISP (likely to be TalkTalk, Now, Vodafone etc.).

At this point the VM call handler will either offer you a much better deal, or they won't... in which case you then switch over to the aforementioned cheapest ISP.

I personally have done this twice now and both times I was price matched with TalkTalks cheapest fibre-optic whilst being allowed to keep my 200 Mb/s speeds.

Oh bloody hell, just re-signed up to Vodafone as nothing else was appealing. Do virgin conduct any traffic shaping during peak hours, or any other annoying ploys to hack off their customers once you've signed up?

Cheers. Also found this, nice to see they've stated it too... virginmedia.com/sho…eds

Does anyone know if you can use your own router, ie switch the virgin one in to modem only mode?

No they sign you as soon as your deal finishes in your own name . But delay happens in getting the new pre configured router which takes 2-3 days. Don't believe their scaremongering. They treat existing customers as cash cows .

Currently with virgin , I think I can cancel...

Just signed up with EE but planning on calling to see if they could match VM deal. I’ve signed up for £26 for up to 72mg

Yes you can
I've gone through the virgin site directly. I can't find this offer at all. I'd love to know how you managed it.

I was a Virgin customer from when they were Diamond Media, then NTL in to Virgin, when I moved house I made sure the area had cable. Got a couple of "deals" off them but I have finally had enough of having to jump through hoops to get a loyalty discount from them. I have gone to Sky, got the 63mb deal and now comes the shocker, my downloads are quicker than the 100mb broadband I got from Virgin? I don't know why as all the tests did show I was getting 100mbs from Virgin and the same tests show Sky at 70mbs? So I won't be going back, unless of course they give me a better deal than the current £23 a month for 18 months I am paying Sky.

When I went through retentions Virgin seemed very keen to keep me as a customer despite only being with them for a year.

Was offered 200mb for £28 or 350mb for £32 from a friendly advisor. The retention deal with TV was horrible and more than deals on their own website, slightly odd they could do nothing to match it.

I'm in dispute with them now. Was promised an offer. Got it for 3 months then it disappeared. They denied ever offering it. Luckily I recorded the call and now a 3rd party is involved.

Just put your notice in and wait for the retentions team to call you

You normally get a call a few days later
I left virgin recently. They put price up mid contract so I went all Martin Lewis on them

Ditto. It annoys me people get 100mb for the price and less than I get 50.

Managed to get a half decent last time as I was adamant I'd leave under principal.

Knock me a couple of quid a month off and I buckle.....

Usually reject the first deal but leave it open ended
What a shame no loyalty is offered with this company. I expect this deal has been made by virgin to get new customers because of the droves leaving. Not because of the product, but because of the relentless price increases. 25% increase in a year is not acceptable! Left for Vodafone now. Yes the broadband is nowhere as near as good, but I refuse to pay money to these unloyal hounds! Great deal if you are a newbie, terrible news if your a current or recently departed customer

For sure. Loyalty for VM means for them increase prices every where they see fit. New customers are their important customers.

Exactly. Normally I threaten to leave and they offer something decent enough that I stay. Not this year. Only after Vodafone had already come and installed their service did VM ring me and offer something close, though still not as good as new customers or what I get with Vodafone.
