Lots of good deals from them lately and I have just moved into a new house so desperately needed broadband. Unfortunately, their website couldn't tell me if the property could have Virgin broadband and instead I had to request a call back "within 10 working days" to arrange a visit from a Virgin engineer to tell me which packages they can offer me.

So around 3 weeks until they will even quote me for any package.

I even have a Virgin fibre cable coming into the property from the previous tenant!

We recently moved to Virgin. Can pass you the direct sales guy's number and may be he can help you get an estimate?

Thanks for the offer but I've already gone with another provider.
Good deal, if I hadn't renegotiated a fresh BB-Max deal with Sky recently for £22, they'd be top of my list.

Thanks OP. Moved away from fibre approx 12 months ago and took a 12 month contract with NOWTV, finding it painfully slow and can't wait to jump ship and make change back to fibre.

Complain to nowtv. Like proper complain. Try to get an offer on nowtv fibre. Some good offers on nowtv fibre.
They are essentially Sky.

Yeah, I do this every year or two. The cost is too much. I firmly think we'll be dropping Virgin and going elsewhere. We always have to go through actually leaving properly before they ring you up with a decent deal as you're sorting out the deal you're moving to

I got the 220 gamer internet without phone line for £35 - 12 months. Just make sure you don’t say yes the first time they call you back after disconnecting. I turned them down twice and made the guy really try hard the third time.

It wasn’t like this before though! Ever since the American company bought them, they’ve been bad!
I wanted to cancel my current virgin plan and start as a new customer, but they don't allow it.

Yes, what’s the point of 100Mb if your upload speed is so bad!
It's too late now,but there was a short lived deal for this vivid 100 on MSE that expired on Sunday last.12 months at £25 with a £75 credit ( taken off bill ) and no activation fee. So it was free for 3 months then £25 a month for the remaining 9,working out at £18.75pm.If you dont already i would signup to there weekly news letter it's free and they blag some good deals with incentives, like the one above which i took out.I collect my hub tomorrow, postage free as well.If you dont like the news letter you can always unsubscribe,Think of it as a weekly HUKD email each Wednesday / Thursday.

Use significant other to sign up and just switch every year between you both. You only need to really not be a customer for a month I believe before you can sign up as a new customer
I was tempted to switch from Sky to Virgin. But finally decided against it.
The reason I had was that if I ever want to come back to the BT backed services I might need to reinstate my phone line (and pay extra for it).
So for 20MB more download speed than BT backed services don’t think it’s worth the hassle for me to make the switch esp reading the stories of renewing for a better contract. For my use 80/20MB is sufficient, hardly have had any issues.
Also make sure your area does not have high utilisation of Virgin subscribers. Few years back I used to use Virgin fibre and it suffered heavily in the evening time due to high utilisation.

Damn it, I just signed up using the £29 deal.
Not going to risk my cashback chances by amending it...

They do allow it if you change the name on the account to a partner, and its not from a joint bank account.

Hi, you can renegotiate now via customer support. (calling 150) but they would contract you from the date of your call. It is always cheaper to go through retentions and tell them you are thinking of leaving. Leave it a few days and they will call you back with better offers. (As long as you have marketing preferences enabled on your account for them to contact you directly.)

I got the same deal but with mix by for for £5 extra a while back. Never watch virgin tv, always have sky on and sky is not even on a subscription lol

btw if you know someone on virgin get ther details as you can knock off another £50 which brings costs further down.
