As an existing customer of virgin media, they have THE worst customer service + retention offers. Absolute joke.
As always with VM it depends more on the local capacity in your specific loop as to how much broadband you will get, not in the package you sign up for. My area struggles to provide 2Mb at times, yet they keep targeting more people for discounted sign ups.
Topcashback not guaranteed!
Preying_Eyes30/12/2019 15:35

I am already with VM, any suggestions on how to get this deal?

Steps to
1. Give 30 day notice to leave VM (assuming you are out of contract) and accept you will lose your landline number

2. Place order to join VM as a new customer under your partner name or some other adult in the household... Remember to clear cookies and follow all steps to get topcashback. Also, Select start date of service to be a day later than your existing contract notice period is over (i.e. after your existing service end date.)

3. You will get calls from VM to stay from retentions team. But you will have to fob them off as they cannot give a competitive offer like these new customer cashback deals

As with most of Virgin Media's deals and especially with cashback deals, these are for new customers only.

No TV. This is for 100Mbps Fibre Broadband and telephone services.

Yeah wish I could get this too. Tomorrow is last day for negotiating new contract before I have to give them notice to leave. Will go ahead and give my notice if I must but I wish I could just get them to match this instead of all the to and throws as it would be ideal for me...

That was a different offer using an affiliate link though (not going directly via Topcashback), so you probably wouldn't get the £125 TCB. Which means it would work out at £25.00 per month. This deal is going purely via the cashback site, which assuming it pays out, would work out at £12.83 per month.

They rely on people's inertia to not be bothered with cancellation and placing a new order... That's where they make money

You should call them and say you want to leave .. they will try to lower the price .. see how much they can match or just cancel and re order

Usually they have offered me further discounts in the first 14 day period of a new connection

That is good if it works, but I have heard people lose out on £100+ cashback by doing something like that. It can so easily change from tracked to declined. It is always a gamble with things like that though.
Hi, is there no way of doing what you've just mentioned but still keep my current landline number?
And yes to those who ask it does get used every so often.

Thanks

I think you would need to port out your landline number first to another provider before then being able to port it back on the new connection. I'm not sure how you would go about doing this though without a long break in service.
Just used this offer but for the 350/36 + phone line, which is £19.93pm after cashback and the voucher. Can't really find a better deal for these speeds, even if you only manage half the advertised rates.

What deal and price are you on at the moment

Full house TV, 200mb and basic phone for £40pm was previously on same with movies for same price. Even without movies it was a good deal but going up to over double once contract ends.

Thing is even if I could have carried on at that price I don't really want to as I barely use the TV, I prefer streaming on Netflix, Amazon and YouTube.

The problem is having that deal actually seems a hindrance to negotiating as I want to go down to BB only but they don't want to give me a good deal on only one service, they expect me to have all three since that's what I'm coming from...

No you can't, but if there's another adult in the property you can sign up in their name and cancel yours.

I just renewed mine for 35 with a similar package
Topcash back will track and after 14 days you will get really small amount
How do you add it to basket do you have to enter your postcode for it to go through and I want to go to cashback

I got them to renew me for another year on this for £28.50pm which is ok.

However as I was coming out of contract I got a bill for £50.50 for the first month of my new contract. I called them up and they hadn't applied the new contract.

Be careful if they make a promise. They are good at breaking them. But I am equally good at breaking contracts where they have misled me.

When you click on the correct link for that package via Topcashback it should automatically take you to the basket with that package - Obviously double check everything in there is correct. Package price and also select your choice of £75 Amazon voucher or £50 bill credit, etc.

What did your topcashback track at? I tried using Quidco and mine tracked at £0.

Are you contracted? If not, retentions woudn't give me a deal I was happy with this time around so I signed up with TalkTalk. Low and behold, as soon as they initiated the number transfer request Virgin was straight on the phone offering me 100MB for £21.99pm for 18 months. The same price and duration as TalkTalk's faster fiber offer. I guess they knew I was prepared to leave if TalkTalk initiated a number transfer! I did drop phone though so that's broadband only.

Anyway of doing this if I live alone? Deffinately paying too much for Virgin now, have broadband only, M200 and its now got up to £45.48 a month.

Ring up and cancel. When you get through to the English call centre and say you want to leave and want this deal. Say you will switch to bt then after 1 year you will go back to virgin and get the new deal.
