As you a standard deal, they'be been hinting on their twitter account that a few Black Friday Broadband deals will be dropped sometime this week and going by last years i'm hoping the 300mb gamer deal or something similar will be offered.

They've some cracking mobile deals (if you can get them!)!

I hope its the new v6 TiVo that they're offering people, that old TiVo is shockingly slow, the new one is like night and day as I managed to get one last month when I rang to cancel.

U able to get this if you're not fibre to your house and justbfibre to the cabinet?

This same deal is also available with a £50 credit instead of the £25 Amazon voucher (via referrals). Please don't post asking for referrals as not allowed. Just making everyone aware.

I'm currently an existing customer and rn I'm on a rolling contract. Should I wait for the Black Friday deals or is that only for new customers. And what is the best way of getting a good deal. I currently do not have an online account. Should I make one? Are there any online exclusive deals on there?

Good deal, shame I can’t get it in my area. Does it include a phone line?

They don't give crap about existing customer. All for only new customer. End of my contract was hoping for some deal but got ans " no problem. We can terminate the contract". So end up with rolling contract £31 50mb only bb. Only reason not leaving, never had any issue in last 4 yrs.

This is why they won't offer you a better price, they know you're too weak to actually leave. I cancelled and was offered 100Mb for 15/month.

Currently in contract until Feb. Is there any loop (ofcom etc) I can use to threaten to cancel for a cheaper upgrade? (Currently 75mb and want 200 or 300mb :))

Going to do the same once my contract is up. Been a virgin customer since they launched in 2006 and before that, was a telewest customer. All they've done was increase our bills. No loyalty whatsoever. Contract ending in April. Will end the contract and not renew it.

Same that's the problem with me. I don't want to leave them because they handle everything smoothly. And I don't want to lose my house number.

Is it worth the risk ?

I cancelled yesterday. 100mb with weekend phone. The best they offered was 28. But I stayed strong and cancelled. Hoping for a call back

Thanks for the moral support!

Problem is there isn't a better provider so I haven't got much to bargain with

It shouldn't matter too much. Make sure you know what else is available to you so you can bargain with Virgin. I put in my cancellation last week and missed 4 calls from them today so hoping that means another good offer for the next 12 months :-)

I was on the full house as I watch mostly BT Sport. I was paying just over £50 a month then suddenly I noticed a jump to £76.

I called them and explained I wasn't prepared to accept a 50% price hike. The guy tried to get me to take a lesser package, but since BT Sport wasn't on, I wasn't interested. He came back and said the best he could do was £60.

In hindsight I should have accepted but since they were offering cheaper to new customers I declined and proceeded to cancel. I never use my house phone so not sure whether they had tried to contact me, so a few days before disconnection I called up and explained this was last chance to stop the disconnection. The lady I spoke with didn't seem the slightest interested and came back with £65.

I was disconnected on 9th and as yet haven't getting around to taking a new supplier. Obviously BT and Sky are the likely recipients of my cash but BT requires a hone ariel which I haven't got and their BB disconnects at an alarming rate.

Sky, BB doesn't look anywhere near to VM and the BT Sport issue. So a little stuck now.

I'm now barred from VM for 12 months per new customers T&Cs.

Wonder if they'd take me back on a £90 VIP shebang.

Sorry I missed Out My Point. ..

They aren't bothered and very unlikely to give you a new customer priced package as they know how substandard some of the package components are from their competitors.

I disagree, I've always had a good deal from Virgin retentions despite not being a high paying customer. Last year I've paid £16 per month including line rental, basic TV and talk unlimited. That was an exceptional deal, normally it's around £30 per month for the same but they paid my line rental last year.

Did this include broadband?

Yes it did, just the basic 50Mb and a tivo box for TV.

Upgraded mine recently and the difference is definitely huge. More storage space too.

What about the credit check and not living there.

After Sundays 2nd half performance, not sure I want BT Sport anymore

My mate doesn't live with his mam she cancelled Virgin as her bill was getting to expensive each month and Virgib wouldn't do any better so she cancelled.
He signed up as a new customer at her address, his credit is terrible and they gave him a new deal, she just pays him each month.

My contract finished few days ago. They never tried call me with offer for existing customers. I did . I had same offer 28 for 100meg and landline. Refused. I was hoping for a call back . Never happened. Now disconected.

Just agreed a new deal, basic TV, new Tivo box (ours is 7 years old), 100Mb BB and unlimited phone. New superhub 3 again but we tried it last year and had lots of problem so am keeping the old one too. They are effectively paying the line rental and giving the unlimited calls for free. Couldn't be bothered to argue for more as it's better than I can get anywhere else.

Edit: forgot to say how much! £29 per month
Edited by: "OldGrump" 21st Nov

got a call today aswell. 100mb with weekend phone. £19

As this is the basic tv package, will I need an aerial installed (live in rented flat and don't have one) or does the TV come via the Virgin Media cable?

At a guess it all comes down the wire. I've never used an ariel on VM for any package. BT requires one for freeview channels

No aerial necessary, it's all cable .
