Virgin Media Retention Deal - £45 for Full House TV, VIVID 200 and Weekend Calls x 12 months = £540

So my contract ended two weeks ago with Virgin and they offered some awful retention deals so I cancelled my contract, refused to honour the Black Friday deals.

I spoke with them twice on the phone and told them I was going to Sky and they still wouldn’t offer a good deal, then ignored 6 calls from them in the last couple of days. I’ve now been offered the Full House TV, VIVID 200 and weekend calls for £45 on a 12 month contract....better deal than the Black Friday deal they were offering.

It’s a massive improvement and hopefully will help someone on here negotiate a better deal, I know they are account specific but this seems like a decent price for a good package.

If it wasn’t for the internet speeds I’d cancel them. They really are a diabolical company to deal with if you need them

I know a way to get 70.
I pay £39 for that ... (£35 in reality as I got £50 credit too). Some people have a lot better than me ... it's luck who you speak to & persistence.

Best I could get after having full house and 200meg was 36 for broadband only. Would not budge on full house. Plus its already gone up to £39 with the price increase.

Its a lottery with virgin.

I just went through the standard Virgin number and spoke with whoever answered, did that twice and told them what I wanted and they refused so I told them I was going to Sky and left it. 7 days later they called a few time and I ignored the calls and they then sent a text asking for a good time to call...I replied to that and then got this offer emailed through a couple of hours later.

Okay thanks as they are totally useless at responding or negotiating deals

You didn't even need to haggle with someone on the phone?! They just emailed the offer?

I was so annoyed when they decided to put mine up to £72 after the contract ended that I didn't actually care if they took it away at the time. I had 3 people phone me to encourage me to stay only 2 days after I put in the cancellation notice.
@Deviant. I had two conversations with them telling them what I wanted and they offered ridiculous discounts of £5 or £10, both times I said no and told them I was leaving. I then ignored 5 or 6 calls and then got it emailed through.

When you cancel and get a call from the outbound team they pretty much always instantly offer you a great deal right off the bat.

If you log into your account they are offering this package for £40.... for the first 12 months. Not sure why they are charging you £5 more??

You should always have time for saving money surely? My mate often says something like this so I basically say if your boss offered you 200 quid cash in hand for an hour's overtime you would snatch his/her hand off, right? Of course, he says. It's the same flipping thing I say. When you put it like that he says.

It's not rocket science....
Thanks, hubbys just called and they’ve gave us free sky cinema

It must be account specific then, i have 3 package offers, £34, £35 and the full house for £40, I only have broadband with them at the minute so guess they are trying to tempt me.
Virgin media stink.
Upped my package to £46 a month for 50meg broadband and line rental. They won't budge on price... even after I gave cancellation notice

The offers for existing customers section seems to give odd deals - we have full house already and it is offering an upgrade to Full House for £45 extra per month .

We cancelled and got the £45 Full House offer emailed and sent by text, so it seems to be happening more now as part of their process.
Mine finished in November and I was all set to go back to sky until I saw the new customer deal I re-signed back up with. Vip full house (2x V6 boxes), 300mbps fibre, all channels, movies, sports Inc bt sport, £125 cashback and then the choice of either an Xbox one s with 2 games, or another £150 cashback for £90 a month (£80 after cashback as I took the Xbox one s option but could have worked out at £67 ish had I taken the double cashback option) . Couldn't resist.

I was moving to EE because of the Cashback and the 20GB data on your mobile plan but Virgin called and offered another 12 months for £29 (100mbs) and £100 credit. This was after someone kept me on the phone over 20 minutes last week trying to convince me that they couldn’t get me a better offer. Hold out I say, hold out
You best check the price doesn't increase last 4 months as I was missold a fixed 12 month contract on my 2nd year of renewing - you don't get a written contract in post and didn't spot the increase until 3+ months on when online - they only retain this amount of sales calls so I had no leg to stand on according to the witch from complaints. Needless to say I will be cancelling on the lying scumbags and never going back. The new routers and v6 boxes are mediocre too to add insult.

With the exception of me opting for the bill credit instead of the XBox, exactly the deal i have just taken out (our road only got cabled up in August). It increases to 129/mth after 12 months so they will be getting a cancellation request and then we let the games begin...
