Hi I know this is only a retention deal but just wanted to show others what I got so they can negotiate a deal with virgin, some will do better some will not.

FULL HOUSE TV
200 Mb broadband
Talk more anytime
12month contract
Two TiVo boxes 1tb +500gb
I kept the tivo boxes as the new boxes have to be close to the hub( not suitable for me}
£54.50 pm
1st month free = £49.95

I just got 200mb and phone line with free weekend calls.. for £24.70 12month contract
The new boxes don't have to be that close to the hub, neither of mine are anywhere near the router and both are connected via wifi. They are a massive improvement on the old TiVo boxes and I think they even give you free power line adapters (saw something on hukd ages ago) if they aren't close. On wifi there's 0 issues streaming and viewing content stored on one box on the other (couldn't do that on the TiVo ones). The v6 boxes are smaller, faster and quieter
Does this include line rental?

Ring up, beg them, reject crappy offer, eventually hand in notice, and hope they call you within those 30 days with a better offer
I suppose what you are offered depends on how good a customer you were. What did you have before and price Mr Delos. I have 200mb broadband and line rental £55....... so, don't have a lot so would expect not a lot.

Welcome to you also.Kemo Sabe
I pay for that 87 a month and that's after deal with retention team. It annoys me how they treat customers and give different offers to different people. Time to call and cancel

With many other companies the threat of cancelling is enough to have them offering a discount. With virgin they are quite mercenary and you'll have to go through a full procedure where you give them notice to cancel your services because they are too expensive. They will then call you back at some point and then eventually offer a decent deal prior to the cancellation date.
They will often give some story about how they can't discount anymore when to initially try to cancel, but don't believe them, order a cancellation and ensure they know it's due to price. And then go through with it. They nearly always call.. hold tight it's a bit scary but they will call...

They like to demean you. They want you on your knees as they shaft you from behind for having the nerve to question your 3rd price increase in the year
I'm not that bothered if they cancel I think. Don't have time to watch tv and don't need 200mb. Only my 2 V6 boxes are valuable. I don't get my money back definitely for how much I pay

You need to do what I did and play the cancellations game with them, believe me it works, I got my bill reduced from £53 a month, down to £30 PER month, just cancel and wait for the phone call.
I got 100mbps 24hrs free national calls (free for 3 months) sky sports free for 3 months. Asian mela free for 6 months and weekend calls free. All for £22 a month. Including line rental

Virgin never call me when I say I'm going to leave and I hand in my notice. I end up calling them within the last few days begging them not to cut me off.
Be gentle this is my first post/comment on this site.

My current deal with Virgin is £40pm on a 12m contract for which I receive

Full house TV
350mb optical fibre
Talk weekend
2 x V6 boxes (huge improvement over the old TiVo type)

I felt compelled to comment as the only reason I managed to negotiate such a deal is originally due to this site.

A couple of years ago someone posted that they paid £30 on an equivalent package to the one I paid £87 pm for at that time.

I called Virgin and played the game as described by others and can confirm it was a pain but I got a better package for £30 pm
and I have appreciated Hotdeals ever since for the £57 pm (£684 over the year) saving I made.

2 years down the line and I now pay a little more per month than the £30 but arguably the package is greatly enhanced. Typically I still have to play the game with them when renewal is due but as I have done it a couple of times I just regard it as a part of the process.

As an aside, I have on more than one occasion had credit added to my bill for the nuisance calls they insist on making from the overseas call centre in the evenings to discuss package enhancements. I have asked repeatedly not to receive them but there seems to be a disconnect between the remote and the UK based part of the company. I find a call to the UK arm of Virgin will result in a goodwill credit for the inconvenience caused, still getting the nuisance calls though!

I wholeheartedly agree with the comment I read that said it is unfair that some are paying much more for a lesser package, all I can suggest is call them and threaten to leave as it does seem to be the only way to get anywhere with them in my experience.

I got same package for £22/month.
Currently paying 90 quid a month for 200MB XL TV and phone. Last time I called they wouldn't negotiate and I was to chicken to cancel as I actually really like the service. I'm going to give them a call this week and ask for cancellation notice.

'Look who came crawling back'
Just called Retention team and was told that my contract ends on 17/07 so to cancel have to pay 136 pounds now.
She was not bothered about me cancelling and she told me that because I have Full House package it's a best what she can offer (87,50 PER MONTH).

LOL

I was with them from last 3 years and finally i have decided to move to Sky fiber max and placed an order after serving 30 days notice to VM. I have received a call on third day when VM have probably received notification of transfer my number to Sky. I have just told them, i cann't afford the deal which was offered to me earlier so i have decided to move. Lady from outbound dept. instantly offered me £22/month deal.
I'm not voting cold, but in todays Metro they are offering 100MB and TV (just one box though) fir £28, which makes this look expensive.
Just phoned retentions and the best they could offer me was 100mb BB + Fun TV and Talk More anytime for 60pcm. So I cancelled my services after 15 years

Fully intend to. Sick of being conned by them
I’ve got 200 mb broadband, full house tv inc bt sport and weekend calls for £40 per month
NNot happy at all with these

Parents are paying £96 a month for Vivid 200, anytime calls and mid tv package. Rang yesterday and they could only offer the basic TV package, Vivid 200 and anytime calls for £56 a month with new V6 box and new hub (free installation). We agreed anyway.

I've looked today and they've lowered the broadband to Vivid 100! Not at all what I agreed to yesterday!

I've just rang up to complain and they won't budge. They want an extra £5 a month to go back to Vivid 200. I told them to listen to the call from yesterday to which they say it's random and the person who i dealt with yesterday may have made a mistake and meant vivid 100 (?!).

After some moaning from me they then offered £61 a month but with £50 credit on the 5th bill. They said that will bring the bill down to £56 on average, but I wasn't having it, it's not the point after I agreed to Vivid 200 yesterday. I told them I want to put a complaint in and they said they will ring back in 2 days.

We have VM coming today to fit the new hub and V6 box. Any idea's what I should do? Say I want to cancel if they don't resolve it when (if) they ring?
Ok. So cancellation team called. I got:
200mb
Full house TV
Phone Anytime
V6 box
12 month contract
52pcm
First month half price
Have vip pay 85 a month. (did get 350 cash back when joined) it's up now so going to £125 called to cancle was offered it for £90 not cool. Top cash back have a £250 cash back offer on atm if it helps anyone
