i suppose you can be forgiven for only being a member for 22 minutes ..

Customer service is awful. They're a bunch of incompetents but for this price it's worth it 'cos you're only tied in for 30 days. I got mine last Friday.
Have some heat.

I've had to resort to emailing the CEO twice - once for broadband and once for mobile. He got things sorted both times, but it took hours of battling through customer services before I gave up on that route.

Is there a better deal than this, currently with Giffgaff but they have had more breakdowns than I've had hot dinners this year and they seem to be increasingly tinkering with the goody bags and pricing so am thinking about changing.

To be fair, it's easy to get lost in the hoardes of Virgin Mobile retentions deals that get posted. A different price every time for the same plan

This isn't retentions though. It's a great deal, just a dupe. Live n learn youth. When you think a deal is great, just don't bother posting

yeah, fair point - and a different thread for each one of those as well.

The one last week wasn't a retentions deal either - it's the same deal.

I wouldn't join Virgin Mobile if they paid ME £15.00. Their Internet is slower than any mobile network out there, they constantly move the goalposts in respect of their Fair Use policies (three huge changes in seven months) and they compress the hell out of images to the point where they simply don't load or appear like some drawing in a four year olds dot to dot book.

Yes, I know most mobile networks use image compression but with T-Mobile and Orange you can access the accelerator settings to control the amount of compression or turn it off completely. With Virgin its cranked up to the max and there is no user access to the settings (you can't turn it off), which is confirmed by their own rep

Only in theory and in Virgin Mobiles' imagination. There is a fair use policy in place which kicks in after 3.5gb of usage, after this you are limited to 384k speeds for a full month.

This Fair Use policy has changed three times already since October 2012. First it was unlimited, then it was 10gb and now its 3.5gb, so who knows what will be next and if it will be reduced even further.

So yes, its technically unlimited, but after the first 3.5gb of use, when the throttling kicks in, believe me, you won't be doing much more than browsing and emailing.
