Don’t trust Virginmedia. They will change the contract from a 12 to an 18 month and they will ask you to pay well over £50 a month. Search the internet and you will find many of the stories regards their contract con.

I liked virgin media for the speed and reliability, but the yearly price hikes were annoying and the last retention deal they offered me was just insulting considering how long I’d been a customer.
Don't forget if your still in contract you can order now and set the start date for month into the future, I don't think their is a limit to how long away you can set your start date. So you dont need to wait until your contract is running out to order your new broadband. Just set the date to December or when ever your renewing, and if a better deals comes you still have the right to cancel. This is how you can get the best deals.

What happened to all the great deals there used to be every year for standard broadband? Seems they're only pushing fibre now and I dont need it. Best I can find are PO and One stream as I am not allowed to get the better PlusNet deal being an existing customer!! A few years ago I paid about £8 / month on Sky- albeit with a £100 pre paid debit card. Nothing like that these days and £16 for std broadband at around 4Mbps seems high to me.

I get this with Tv Mix also. Was not a retention deal either.

Virgin 100mb Fibre + Talk weekends for £25/month @ Carphone Warehouse not sure how long it will stay for tho.

£49 pm after deal period seems high
Carphone warehouse offer has £25 upfront charge too , uswitch does not.

That's how they value their existing customers (think you can downgrade/leave them when your contract expires)
I believe they actually fund these attractive offers for new customers from their existing ones' pockets.
I personally am on 12 months contract paying £28+ for 70Mb fibre only. Ends September, can't wait.. :\

well, at least they can't make you stay, leave them for another provider or re-join in a little while as a new customer..
Can this be done if you are already a Virgin customer? I'm no longer in a contract. thanks

Ours was the same and it caught me out as I assumed they'd write to me. Called up to cancel and they offered £31 for 108Mb and TV player.

Their not funding them out of anyone's pockets the price of broadband should be well below even the 27 pounds that they are asking, but they are ridiculously overcharging people that don't bother to renew/change their isp, seriously these companies have no shame and there no watchdog either that's not in their pocket
What a shame. Got on 50Mbps for 27 no setup fees & 50 bill credit just 10 days back. Can I haggle to upgrade to 100Mbps?

You can cancel as you are still within the cooling off period. Just phone them and select the 'thinking of leaving' option. They may offer you the same deal instead of having to cancel. If they don't, just cancel.

That sounds decent? Wouldn’t mind if they offered me that too, cba with the whole cancelling rejoining etc

how do you do it ? I am with virgin and my contrect ends on Nov an d I want to sign for this deal .
It asks me for my address and then redirects me to my virgin media account sign in page?how do i buy this deal?
It's not a bad price but you can still haggle.

I got 12 month contract for Player TV, Weekend Calls and 200MB VIVID for £30.44 a month on retention deal + loyalty discount.

If they call the cancel bluff, then cancel, you will get a call within 14 days from the people that can actually make decisions
37743654-hn58e.jpg!!
I got offered 107mb broadband + weekend calls& landline rental for £28 & the lady asked me to decide within 8 days & she noted this on their system, but when I rang within 6 days, they would not honour it eventhough it is in their notes.
They would not even register it as a customer complaint saying that it is an internal matter. But I was on the phone for about an hour & they reluctantly gave the complaint number so that I can take it up with Ofcom after 8 weeks. I have been a customer ever since NTL first cabled our area.
They treat their existing customers like s**t. I am thinking of going to Vodafone broadband 63mb which is estimated to be about 77mb at our address.
VM are prepared to loose my custom.
I have tried ringing them hoping a different customer agent would see the notes & know that they do not keep their word, but all they keep on referencing to the 2nd Customer Service Agent who would not honour their promise. I will take it up with Ofcom regarding them not honouring their word.

Thanks, but that link takes me to their main store page. From your screenshot I see you've added the Player Bundle to your basket. When I do the same, it shows as £33 per month + £25 setup fee.

How exactly did you add this deal to your basket?
when virgin hit my street, a couple or 3 swapped.... I beleive they've all gone back to sky..... virgin blokes comes round, can never put anything in writing!

Ah it's through MSE, thanks!!
I had this deal a few months ago. Switched from BT fibre 50mb to virgin 108mb. It’s faster but I don’t find virgin as stable as BT. I also hate the unsightly wires with Virgin outside the house and on the wall inside. My ring doorbell had problems connecting to virgin.

Just called them & it was a no go even though he acknowledged that I could cancel & sign up for this again. They offered it for 32/month & was happy to redirect to cancellations with a caveat of a 30+min wait. Will try again tomorrow else will have to cancel I guess.
Till when does this deal run?

I had one deal from MSE which was 19 per month, 12 months contract back to April
Mine was £27 for 100mb broadband only, after moving houses we carried over virgin broadbrand as our contract was half way through, after moving houses virgins policy is that they renew your contract for another year and now i have to pay £41 a month for another year. Bare in mind i paid £27 for 6 months and now going to pay £41 for 12 months. I couldnt do anything about this and virgin didnt make me aware that my contract was going to renew and i didnt have a clue that this would happen. Im really upset and calling and talking didnt do anything. I would suggest staying away from virgin, they are really a pain in the ass.

Virgin sold their ADSL/VDSL broadband business to TalkTalk.

Yeah I did it with bt, you can move your activation date for as far away as you like. My action date when I switch from sky to bt was 5 months away, when I asked if her k could switch now and set the activation date all the way into the future she said of course I could.
We signed up for vivid 350 broadband and phone only, but because we are renovating a house wouldn't have moved in by the time it was due to start. Rang them up to cancel and say I would reorder closer to the time but they insisted I stay and dropped the price from £43/month to £35 and gave me a £50 welcome credit, and moved the start date back to the end of June.

Engineer came out today to install the outside part of the connection so is all good so far, fingers crossed.

I can see how that would work changing from one provider to another. Are you sure this would work moving from an existing Virgin contract to another (this) Virgin offer?

200mb + LR £16.66PM . Never accept a retention deal always cancel and let them call you back and then negotiate.
