Thanks Mrs Witch, but on my desktop after clicking the link on this deal at the top, it takes me to the uswitch site with 50mb broadband.

Oh no I bought the Player Bundle with exact same specs via Quidco & it only had £40 cashback :-(
Does anybody know if Virgin can now deliver the local tail using the existing copper?

Which isp is yours?
I got same speed with £28 pm, but no useless phone line.
27 for faster speed would be really nice deal

What existing copper?

Their own co-ax from the Virgin Street Cabinet? Yes.
The crappy old BT open reach copper? No.

I live down down a long drive and have to use the copper from the cabinet. Currently getting 28Mbps on it from BT, so content with that for my useage.

Ordered, thanks OP
If you go through Quidco Compare Home Broadband and then choose Virgin BB (100 MB), TV and phone, you will get all the three for £29/month and £144 cashback which is better than this one, although cashback is not confirmed.
Don't forget even if your still in contract if you ever see a good deal you can order and move your installation/activation date months away. Most people only bother to look for new deals when their contract is up.

With Virgin even if you're still in contract and you ring and say your bill is too much quoting a cheaper deal they will usually start a new contract for you straight away on the cheaper price. Have done that a few times with them.

Just went from £35 pcm for 200Mb broadband to £28 pcm after 2 calls to them (£29 on 1st call). I was aiming for £25 but realised it was going to take a while. Fairly happy with this. I don't need TV and phone - just wanted a £20-£25 deal on BB. Next time.
Thanks

Rang retention today, quoting this deal, they just don't want to know, it's for me customers only and apparently the uswitch.info "may be out dated" "is not something we offers directly to anyone"

Best they could offer me as an existing customer, out of contract is £41/month for 100 mb internet, weekend calls, and £50 credit applied to my account

Didn't help me that the only alternative internet in my area is slow copper service bt or sky.

How are folks managing to get better deals via detentions? Any tips

Are you out of contract with them?
If speed is not a major issue then go for 50mb. I'm currently paying £22 for phone and broadband

I reduced my speed when they offered me a 'free' upgrade to 200mb and then promptly tried to increase my monthly fee to £40. Jokers.
Might be stupid question but will this work ok with sky q and tv bundles

I asked them for a quote on 50MB and phone, £36/month was cheapest. I'm gonna ring back and see if I can get someone else willing to drop the price

Tell them you're leaving - say other people are getting better deals and if you're not willing to match these, I'll move to BT or Sky. You need to tell them you're leaving, and be ready with a backup option from a different provider if they don't give you a better deal. You give them your notice and they'll call you back within a month to offer you a better deal.

I believe there are data limits on the 50 mb (or you have to pay £7.50 extra per month).

As far as I'm aware no Virgin Media home broadband has any cap.

All my media is streamed, as I have no terrestrial tv, so I must be a fairly heavy user, and not once have I heard from Virgin about excessive usage.

I tried to do a deal to reduse costs with them & I asked about the 50 mbs and that is what they told me.
Pulled the trigger in the end and managed to get a discount code of £50 from Virgin.

I went through ordering at work and realised I didn't have my bank card so quit waited till i got home received an email from them stating come back and you can have £50 of with code it worked and boom £18.16 per month
What does the “up to” £100 bill credit work?
