I just called to cancel my current deal because I'm moving house. They said instead of cancelling they can apply the £150 directly to the account. Sorted.

OP it might be worth mentioning in the post.

I’m have just given my notice to leave VM as come to the end of my deal.

VM want double each month and say no deals available. I’ve got 30 days to find and get another service connected.

Customer loyalty seems to mean nothing to VM these days.

I just took out a new contract vivid 50 with phone and basic TV package for £30 a month. The TV package is not great either. Just out of the cooling off period!! Oh well. Stuck with it for a yr now

Wonder how much it would be to upgrade to 200 after having this installed...

Make sure you are set up for marketing calls, you then should get a call from retention’s within a few days.

I actually gave the notice last Wednesday. Still not had a call. Really seems that they don’t want to have my business. I have had retention deals in the past.
Place order with another company when they request to vm to take your number vm will call u and set u up a great deal I got it for £22 month instead of £65 after doing this
Retentions called me 5 times. Each time offering me nothing short of a 115% increase in what I have been paying for the last 5 years. They suggest there is nothing they can do and I should be grateful that is what they can offer. They seem to pitch themselves against their rivals and suggest what I can or cannot get from other suppliers. Why that is part of their sales tactics I have no idea. They should be concentrating on what THEY can offer me, not what others can’t.

Comes down to principal sometimes. I’d rather go elsewhere to receive less where your business may be appreciated (while the sales call takes place anyway), than a company that spits brand loyalty in your face.

For what package please? I am just trying the same approach (BT order placed with phone number transfer after cancelling), as offers so far from Outbound are not much of a saving.
Great deal op have some heat

Yes - you have up to 14 days to cancel.
I was told up to 30 days when I called today due to service issues i.e. low speeds

sky.com/shop/terms-conditions/broadband/

Cancellation period: You have the right to cancel your order for Sky Broadband without giving any reason any time up to 14 days (“cooling off period”) from the later of: (i) delivery of your Wireless Router; (ii) activation; or (iii) receipt of the relevant terms and conditions for that product/service.

Sky may offer an enhanced cooling off period from time to time which we will advise you of at the time of your purchase.

I have put my cancellation in they wouldn't go lower than £34 for 100mb only hopefully they can back before cut off date. Did you put your cancellation in before getting that deal?
I imagine you could save further by paying for the line rental in full.
I was on 100mbs, offer with VM, I rang and asked when my year was up, VM said 2/3/18. They said after that date it was more than doubling to £58pm. I give 30 days notice, VM rang a few days later and said best they could do was 50mbs for £25. I said no, there was no negotiating with them. I rang Vodafone, Free line install usually £60, Free delivery of router, weekend calls 76mps for £24pm 18 month contract. They said they guarantee no less than 65mbs. 30 day cooling off period, I can cancel anytime within 30 days. Sounds ok to me, but we'll see. Cheers.

Give them a call back and ask if you have marketing calls allowed, if you haven’t they can’t call you could be a reason you aren’t getting calls though sometimes it’s just pot luck
Seems like they are all in it together now. Don't seem to care as much as before and all the companies are just whacking up their prices. Luckily sorted mine in March via retention and managed to get 100mb, v6 medium tv package and anytime free calls for £33 a month. They still tried charging more after saying that was not what they agreed but luckily i recorded the call and played it back to them as i know how sneaky they can be with honoring what they say over the phone. Mind you they bumped it up £4 again a couple of months ago, but still on a good deal so can't complain.
Nice deal, heat added.

My badluck - moved to Vodafone recently

Ohh yes. Get a service cut-off date, give them a few days, and they'll call you back. Every time.

When did you get that deal?

It's been a good few months now. Actually I think I negotiated that for 100mb, then later the decided to double it. I've been with them since it was Cable & Wireless, then NTL though tbh..

thanks, thought so, we were on £22 for 150 BB only and had to go up to £28 for 200 recently.
We have been signed up in my partners name, so she was required to call to cancel. Took almost a week. First couple of calls obvious offering terrible deals, but she thought best to discuss with me to be sure. One person told her they have a new system whereby they text you an offer (so she could discuss with me) and you apparently text back yes or no, if no the cancellation goers through, I didn't trust them, so advised she called back.

Not surprised one bit to find that it was still active. She requested several times to cancel (eventually quite directly) but they just continue blabbering on " but you use ***GB" "we can offer you ****".

After repeatedly insisting she wanted to cancel, she was hung up on. Had to call another couple of times. Absolutely terrible company to deal with, not to mention additional charges and terrible service / dropouts.

Also, I'm not sure why no attention has been drawn to this in the past, but they have a habit of charging for equipment, then demanding it be returned at the end of your contract as it is "their equipment"
Every company is probably bumping up their prices to compensate against IPTV , cardsharing and Kodi. People who know what they're doing only need a decent internet connection to get what they want

They've always maintained that the equipment is theirs. That way you're not responsible for any faults. I've never been asked to pay for it though, ever. Strange that you have, I'd have questioned that at the time.

Same here, I was going to go to Vodafone, was ready to hit the buy button and I called VM again and the Thinking of Leaving option went straight to retention team. Got Vivid 100 for £29/month, not as cheap as I'd like but saves the hassle of switching.
Just signed up to the 100MB package but pushed the install right back. Thanks OP

Yeah, they won’t offer you anything great at that stage has to be a retention call to get anything.

I was with VM since before they took it over from NTL. A loyal customer. I upgraded my package which started a whole new 12 month contract.

They sent me a dodgy router and couldnt figure it out. They said it was because the system hadnt been reset properly a month later. But resetting it somehow reset my contract. So i checked the new router even tho packaged as new was a refurb i ciuld see scuff marks on the bottom. But 3 months later and everyone had enough. BT had been called (I was moving).

I said you havent provided me with what ive paid for you are in breach. Im quitting and have BT on the way. They said no youve 10 or 11 months left I explained that was just yet another error on their part resetting my contract every time they tried a new fix. Was only a replacement router needed. But because it was deemed fixed with a new router they said i had to pay the remaining of the 600 or w.e it was.

I loved VM. Best speeds. Never an issue. Then this. A holes
