Does anyone know why when I go to checkout it keeps adding the 9 quid deal instead of allowing me to continue with the 4 quid one claiming it to be a better deal
Thank you! Hate tpo, been with them half a year, so many missing texts and calls etc it' unreal.
Cheers kids already on virgin but its gone up to £6 month. So will push for this. Do you have to create a virgin red account to get offer?

remember no caps with virgin. Watch the data usage!
What is virgin red and is this deal only available to red customers?
Any topcashback or quidco?
If you are already a customer with them, check your account - there was a large banner on mine for similar deal but 2GB data for £5 a month. I've already got my PAC code from EE but still waiting to see if I can find anything better

Great deal, thanks for posting. I have just changed my wifes Virgin 3G cheapo package (£7/month) to this option through retentions. Didn't need to join Virgin Red. Have also ordered another one to replace my sons plusnet cheapo pay monthly sim.

My only concern is no capping of data - will need to be really careful with my sons account, any tips other than setting a limit on the phone (xiaomi redmi x4). Even with this on his plusnet account he keep going over. The plusnet caps out at an extra £2 data. I think he just ignores the warning and keeps using the data.

Are free calls between Virgin numbers ONLY for those who have TV or broadband with Virgin?
Edited by: "larry27" 15th Feb
Just tried to get this deal as I'm an existing Virgin Mobile customer. But, they wouldn't change my plan even after speaking to retentions.

The only way to get this deal was to get a new line/number which is no good for me.

I've only been a VM customer for 12 years, so I think I will l look for another company as there's clearly no loyalty to existing customers.

Same here tried to change two existing sims, hard work explaining, then told of have to have new numbers. Crazy
Say prices will rise in July every July with RPI....would that be much?
usual carry on with VM customer services. Deny all knowledge of this deal........only available on line.....never heard of it.....blah blah blah.

would willingly risk IDmobile but cant get a signal with Three in the house.

If you have an iPhone (they do android too but I think you have to buy it from them) from the last few years, then ID mobile support both 4g calling and WiFi calling so that improves reception at home.

Not with them but I'm considering moving to three now they have this.
Thanks OP. Any idea when the offer will expire? Also, can you order more than one?

No idea and use different emails
The small print isn’t too clear, do they sneakily whack the prices up after the 12 months has passed or is it actually as good as it sounds? Seems almost too good to be true but I could be mistaken.

Every time he goes over he has to work for it. If he doesn't play ball, bye bye sim card and tell him to pay for his own if he isn't going to listen to the rules.

Life is full of rules and there's consequences for breaking rules.

Sounds harsh. Mam use to be like this with us since we were little and it made you realise the value of things quicker and appreciate things. Now in my 20s I really appreciate she did this. Life isn't a shock to me and I feel like I'm a better person for it.

One prime example in my late teens that really woke me up to life. I learnt once that I hadn't put a cap on my account and ran up an £80 bill one month. The same month I crashed my car (it was fully my fault for being stupid). I needed both the car and phone for work. They were both mine. (I paid for the car, my own insurance, phone outright, and sim deal.) Yet mam supported me in guiding how to best fix the situation but didn't bail me out.

It's served me very well. She said it was so hard to watch (I cried a lot) and she just wanted to pay for everything and tell me it's ok so I can learn from it. But the best thing she did was helped me learn how to cope with situation, deal with consequences and fix it.
OP, I personally wouldn't touch virgin with a barge pole, I was with them for years, still have virgin media/broadband, but their mobile service is shocking and I'm not talking about reception.
Every so often I would be waiting for an important call, with full reception and then hours after the call I get a voicemail message text. Waiting for call to pick parents up from hospital, friends as to when their free to go out, mot garage to pick car up etc etc, all happened to me, and I did call virgin to report the issue, but they never fixed it (it wasn't my mobile, I used a few).
This became so annoying that I left and went to ID, and I've never looked back, their service is far and away better than virgin mobile.
ID also have a cap, rollover data, not sure about the ID you mention, but most are 1 month rolling, where as this is a 12 month deal, ID any day of the week.

I upgraded my daughters PAYG sim to this offer yesterday and asked about capping. They said once the new sim is active I can phone back and put a £10 limit on going over on data - not the best but will still save accidental big bills. You also get sent text messages at 75, 90 and 95% of 1GB allowance

Indeed. I've been with VM a long time. They have no concept of loyalty. But after a few days if they still think you're leaving you may get a retentions call. I think they try to call customers bluff.

Unfortunately not, there's no capping on VM. It's one of the reasons I didn't take up this offer when i saw it a couple of weeks ago. The others being they try to man handle what you do with your data even though it's a fixed amount of data - no tethering for example. And also, they do a 2gb for £5 offer which IMHO is significantly better anyway. if someone can't stretch the extra £1/mth for the peace of mind then they have bigger issues to deal with.

The offer itself remains, even if you cancel your other services. (I asked them). But for an extra £1/mth you can get double the data, and you don't even have to deal with Virgin Red for that.

Oh that sounds like a much better deal, I don’t suppose you’ve got a link to that deal as I can’t seem to find it for some reason.
