Hi all,

I think this offer is only available for existing Virgin Media customers (TV,phone, broadband).

You need to log in to your Virgin Media account (not your Virgin Mobile account) and look at your existing customer offers.

This offer has been around in my existing customer offers for around 6 weeks now and I have 2 SIM cards on this contract.

Its defintly worth a look as it seems a great price to me.

There are other deals out there which cost around the same but do not tie you into a 12 month deal, is it really worth signing away a full year when there are so many good 30 day deals at the moment and your data habits might change so the flexibility would be better.

Also an add, had a small issue with the a couple of months ago, in the end asked for a PAC and was put through to that department, spoke to a girl who then ignored me though had been cut off when I asked she said I have nothing to say to you I am getting the code. Put through to a manager who then tried to tell me that all mobile companies were moving to 12 month deals because OFCOM were forcing them to, which was just a lie, no such plans from OFCOM at all. Wouldn't use them again.

I couldn't find any 30 day deals which came close to 4GB data and 2500 mins personally when I looked.

Thats 20% more expensive?
I can see the deal but i dont see a way of upgrading my excisting account to this one
folks be careful!

Virgin are very sneaky with their contracts!

I took out an 18 month broadband contract but they offered only 12 month line rental saver. so naturally at the end of 12 month i renewed the line rental saver for another year. however 18 month into my contract another better deal with BT came along and i was unable to get my outstanding line rental saver refunded.
Iv been told by an old school friend who works for virgin - that to rope you in they offer mostly contracts and 'STAGGER' different part of the service, different parts of the service finish at different times. so if you leave you are always at a loss. D

Plusnet owed by EE/BT gives a better connection than Virgin who are a Virtual Mobile network that buys its mobile service from EE/BT I'm sure you'll find its 20% quicker! I've been with both and noticed a difference. Also Virgin were notorious for putting the price up and to me they are a shifty company having had bad experiences with our families mobile plans.

I had to phone up and get them to upgrade it.

In fact, the first SIM card I did I actually ordered a new SIM (through the website) and then got them to move my existing account to the new contract (and they then cancelled the new sim).
It was quite tricky as Virgin Media and Virgin Mobile seem to act as entirely separate entities who may not have immediate vision to each others deals.

slightly less minutes but for most people I bet they don't use the minutes any way, but the point is next week there could be a better deal with the same minutes, more data, etc. Since PlusNet and Id started to hit the market hard there has been a real shake up, a few months ago Virgin tried to get into it as they had some good 30 day deals but have just given up. have a search for the plusnet deals, there have been some excellent deals recently.

seems a pretty good deal. I'm paying a tenner a month on a 30 day rolling contract for this or something like it. 4gb 4g data plus rollover and loads of minutes I never use and unlimited texts. I wouldn't mind a 12 month for £8 but if it's reliant on my VM account it's no good as I want to get a new deal in dec
Just upgraded to this. Earlier this month. Had to ring virgin to get it. No problems so far. Even added my existing data to it. Was on the 1 go rolling contract. This has better reception and faster data. I did have to change the SIM card but kept number. Deal was fine for me as an upgrade
Is this including VAT per month ?
Yes, it includes VAT

It's actually 25% more.

You mentioned you couldn't find anything similar on a 30day...

I'd say 1GB more & unlimited mins for only £2 more would classify the deal as similar. Plus you have the added bonus of a 30day, the benefit of which has been well documented by eslick
Picked this up for my mum who's on virgin and just finished her contract from o2 where she was getting unlimited minutes and texts plus 1gb of data for £12.70 a month, so this is a steal.

I did debate the plusnet deal however I think it depends on the circumstances which offer is better. My mum would only just about use the 1GB of data, however just got an iPad that she's looking to tether to so she'll be able to make use of the data rollover from virgin giving her around 7gb a month if her usage habits stay the same. She also mainly uses the data for WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger which are included so even less data usage coming out of her monthly allowance, albeit a small one. She's also not bothered about being tied into a contract, which is the main reason why the plusnet deal is so good. My only issue with them is that they don't offer capping, just means you have to keep an eye on your allowance.

If 12 months is too long the plusnet deal is the way to go. Personally I think there's no use in comparing on data speeds between MVNO's especially when they're linked to the same network, since they're buying the same data wholesale and the big four will be utilising better speeds for their customers. Similarly with customer service, I've found no matter what provider I'm with it takes an age to get anything done or any issue sorted.
Anyone know when 8gb deal finishes, my contract with 3 ends in 4 weeks just need to decide if I should grab this deal now or hold off hoping it's still on, quidco were giving £20 cash back but ended last night.
