Virgin Mobile Deal for existing customers

Found 2nd Aug 2012
I am currently a virgin media customer, and also virgin mobile.

I called Virgin Mobile up from my Virgin Mobile (789) and chose the option for leaving/upgrading. I asked what deal could they do for me as their tariffs have recently changed.
I posted this deal approx 3 months ago
hotukdeals.com/dea…=60

A couple of months ago I took out 2 sim only deals at £5.00 per month, with 100 mins. So in total I have 3 sim only deals with them.(all 30 day rolling contracts)
Anyway the man I spoke to said he will check with the manager to see what they could offer me.

He offered me the following:

2500 cross network minutes
Unlimited Virgin to Virgin minutes
Unlimited texts Virgin to Virgin
Unlimited texts to other networks
Unlimited landline minutes
Unlimited internet
No FUP at all. You can also tether to laptop on this sim .

All this for £7.00 per month for each sim.
He said every month like in the past a discount of £13.00 will be applied to each sim.

I took this deal and my new deal has been activated.

If any of you are with Virgin mobile it's worth giving them a call to see if they offer you the same deal.

Hope this helps.

Might give them a call tomorrow, that deal sounds great.

Is it only for a set period of time or will it roll on forever?

agreed - also not many realise that even with some unlimited deals this and the tmobile deals are the only ones i think that offer unlimited landline minutes - some like giffgaff charge for landline calls
Wow good deal OP I'm on that tariff as well but paying £15 per month. Think it's called Premier Sim Only or something. Will be giving them a call this afternoon for sure!

Wrong end of the stick Jumpingphil.

It's kinda like RRP.

Original price is something like £20.00 for this tariff but the way the OP has done it they have managed to get retentions to give them a £13.00 discount therefore making the price £7.00 per month.

£20.00 is what you're supposed to pay, getting a contract with virgin and ringing retentions a month or two down the line will give you much better offers, such as the one the OP has posted, in this case £13.00 off RRP.

HTH
I am still paying a ridiculous contract rate but long out of contract now. I take it transferring a number is no trouble if I try this? Retention conversations never seem to go well for me though, what's the best way of telling them?

Be polite and honest and just tell them you're looking for a better deal and before you look elsewhere you thought you'd ask them what they could offer you. This has nearly always worked for me. Most of these companies are keen to keep your business and are still making profits even when charging you only half the RRP.
Thanks, Will try.

Thanks for the advice on this. I managed to get the same contract for £10 rather than £7. She said she couldn't do £7 as i wasn't also a Virgin Media customer. I am happy with £10 to be honest as it is considerably less than the £25 I was paying for a 500min/1GB package. Nice one OP.
This id a retention deal do the chance of anyone rlse grtting are near nil

I don't see anywhere in the OP's post where is purports to be anything other than a retention deal, in all but name...

Well done for stating the obvious

Just to make it to stupid people like you , this is a non deal

Aww bless, royals. Resorting to insults is rather childish and a sign of an inability to hold an adult constructive argument?

Oh wait perhaps you are five. In which case I can understand your poor grammar.

Well, I know of six people who have got this deal, so it does exist. Even if the deal I post helps one person then I think the reason of posting a deal is justified.

I was paying £15 for this deal down from £20, gave them a call today and they got it down to £10 for me. Not £7 but that's a confirmed 7th person you've helped OP so to me it's a deal! Thanks for posting
If virgin offered this for £10 as a virgin media customer id switch from t mobile but they keep offering me the £12 offer with 1gb data which isn't enough for me

Your welcome mate. Thanks.
I have three different numbers with Virgin Mobile 30 day rolling contracts, 2 with 800 Cross network minutes, 3000 Virgin to Virgin minutes and 3000 texts for £7.43 with a £13 discount applied on each number for a £20.43/month tariff and the 3rd number with 100 Cross network minutes, 3000 texts and 3000 minutes Virgin to Virgin paying £5.11/month.

Rang retentions yesterday they offered me 2500 cross network minutes, Unlimited Virgin to Virgin minutes, Unlimited texts Virgin to Virgin, Unlimited texts to other networks, Unlimited landline minutes and Unlimited internet all for £5 a month on each of the three numbers (normally £20 for VM customers). Very pleased

I was also given the option of all the above together with 500 mins to 0800 0845 0870 0808 numbers for a total of £10/month (normally £30 for VM customers) but went for the £5 deal as its suited me better.

Overall customer service is very good as never had any problems with them and the signal in my area is superb (T-mobile + Orange)

You beat my original post deal mate, well done.
Received my sim card and my data speeds are capped at 2mb, is that normal as my t mobile sim gets 3.7mb in same area?
I've got a Virgin Blackberry Curve on a 24 month contract and after 23 months it has never quite managed to download a webpage eventhough the loading signal tries for hours. So either Blackberrys are cr*p or Virgin are.

I think it's Blackberrys are crap in your case then as I have never had a problem with my pages downloading and they are very fast too.
Incorrect. The correct deal is £23 for what the op is saying. But i cant see them doing this.

£10 for me, this is so hot!!! Thanks OP.

I said I was considering the S3 on the One Plan with Three, mentioned Quidco and said it would work out at around £27 a month. The nearest deal was £36 with Virgin. I said that was too much and said can you save me anything on my current sim only deal which was £17.

Existing deal was:

1200 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, unlimited virgin texts and calls.

Thanks again, bargain of the year.
