Virgin Mobile SIM ONLY - 12Gb, 2500mins - £8/month - Virgin Media Customers ONLY (Rolling monthly deal)

42
Found 3rd Jan
Had a phone call from Virgin Mobile before Christmas offering me 12Gb of data for £8/month on a SIM only deal. This includes rolling data for max of 6Gb! Just transferred my old number over and up and running.

It appears to be given out as a quadruple loyalty bonus on their 3Gb SIM only deal.

Cracking deal for anyone already on Virgin. I believe there are other offers (handset and other SIM deals) however I bit before I found out. Worth giving them a ring if you're already a Virgin Media customer. Multiple SIMs available for the whole family.

I was previously on £10/month on Three for 8Gb.

Edit:
No fixed term contract. Rolling monthly deal that can be cancelled with a month's notice at no extra cost.

I’m still on the same contract I agreed 6 years ago. £12 unlimited everything. Can’t see any reason why I’d change. No problems whatsoever with them.

Yes no fixed term. Rolling monthly deal.
i got the same response.... this is not an available offer so we cannot put you on it. Its getting a little ridiculous at Virgin where they dont stick to script
watch out with Virgin mobile signals , despite they are on EE backbone ofter no signal or just 1 bar . ( I don't live remote)
had this offer couple of months age but I now moved to Vodafone.
I would change mine, I get unlimited everything for £11 per month, simply because the data is 3G. Recently found out this includes free minutes to all premium numbers though, guess I'm stuck. Good deal heat

Cold..
Why...? This is a random hit and miss. I haven't seen a single person apart from OP who made a phone call and managed to get this deal. Everyone has been told off

I am unlimited everything ( Including calls to 08 numbers ..) at £9.50 just that data is 3G , but doesn't matter to me.
I am not willing to change to any other tariff because none of the new tariffs include calls to 08 numbers
I’ve spoke to VM about this deal. to get this you need the OP name and password to check what sort of deal he got to offer it to you.

Your one of the very lucky ones.

we had 4 contracts all with unlimited everything down to £5 per month. Virgin then systematically increased the price all the way up to £23 a month.

Rang retentions and they said the price will keep going until you come off that tariff.

We all moved over to 2500mins, unlimited texts, 500 mins 0845/0870, 10gb 4G data for £12 a month.

That price has also sneaked up to £13.55 but still can't find a better deal to keep the 0845/0870 calls

Would have happily stayed on the 3G deal.

I doubt they asked for my password and unless you're a Nigerian prince I'm not giving it out on a public forum. There's my name, order number and my original VM phone number in the description.
Just posted because it's clearly something VM are rolling out for eligible customers.

Yep, for some reason the signal seems “muted” and it takes between 10 & 20 seconds to connect the call. It’s at the point where you have to look at the handset to check it’s not dumped the call. Yep, happens on mine & mrs on different handsets wherever we are.

Classic Virgin. If you did give them these details the Virgin Assistant would say he couldn't check anyone else's account in order to see if he could do you a deal.

Just keep calling and one assistant my agree to his or a different deal.

How did you get the deal? When did u purchase it and is the deal still available? Would really love to get it as I called in earlier and the woman told me it's not available.
Pretty sure this is a retention deal and new customers will not be able to get this.
You only get the above deal when speaking to the retentions department. The normal customer service advisor can't authorise these retention deals.

Absolutely freezing.

Dont go go near these clowns if you have an iPhone for started, as their new network prevents things like Siri from working, iMessage is slow, and various other services don’t work correctly.

The the old sim worked fine, the new purple sim for their new network is trash.

They have the rudest possible customer service team, all based in India, and if they can’t answer a question from their 2-page how-to guide in call centres, then they’ll just cut you off.

The only good part about the company is the excellent American branch of the call centre, but that’s for cancellations, so not much use.

Ih and and if you have an android device, you’ll have to manually set up an APN for their new network. Have fun with that, every time.

Wordt company in the UK right now, easily.
Tried to get this offer today and was flatly told there were no Loyalty Offers. I spoke to 3 different people and all they could offer me was the same as on the website. I have been a customer for Virgin Mobile and Virgin Media for over 12 years. Customer Service is absolute rubbish. Was told that it would be better for me to leave VM and look else where as they had nothing to offer me.

Say anything in particular to get that? And is it a monthly rolling? Fed up of paying my £6.21 for 1gb of 3g data and wanting a phone (Pixel/S8) but having the monthly rolling is nice. At £4 a month could just buy a pixel 2/s8 sim free and I'd still be in the money!

You'd need to be a virgin media customer, I've heard of new customers able to get it but when I did it they checked on my virgin media details. (I gotten the same offer but at 4GB instead.)

At the time there were offers of 9GB for £8 and 40GB for £10 too. (I'm guessing it would be 50GB for £10 now seeing the 12GB deal)

Say that you had a call a week back about the offer and you couldn't decide at the time to get it.

This is not a deal
It is a retention package and even for another VM customer may not be available. So cold for that reason
Customer service is totally rubbish if they can't answer your question they just cut you wonder why the MD OF VM is not doing anything to sort this in my book if someone puts phone down on you, they should be retrained I'm glad I'm now with EE 100% UK and Ireland call centres and better network then a degraded virgin service

No luck, mentioned about having previously been offered lower amounts and guy wouldn't budge. Was friendly enough though. Took my PAC code there and then.

Best he could offer me was £6 on a 12 month with 2gb data and 1500 mins. Which is fine but I'm currently on a monthly rolling and would rather stay that way if I went the Sim only route. Talked about a £5 loyalty tarriff but came back and said was expired.

Virgin tried to offer me a really good deal in October where they rang and offered to cut my mobile tariff whilst upping my data a month. Unlimited calls and texts with 8gb data for £7 a month.

Turns out after I had my bill that is wasn't a change to my then current mobile plan(which was one month rolling) but they had actually put a second additional mobile plan on my account. Never discussed and not needed. Took a lot of hassle to get the second plan removed and they wouldn't honour the deal on my original number and plan saying it wasn't available (surprise surprise)

After that for some reason my data was being dramatically eaten up even when nothing had changed on my phone or contract. In November I managed to suddenly use 3gb in 6 days where for 3 years I had used no where near in a month and had rollover data carried forward most months.

Virgin charged me a daily fee of £3 x 3 days saying I had gone over my data allowance when I had not (realised with 63mb left and cut off my mobile data on my phone). They agreed it was a tech hitch at their end and would reverse the fees. Still billed me and took the money even after chasing it numerous times and still trying to get this money back.

I've since changed to three. I'm very satisfied. Unlimited with hotspot tethering and 12gb a month for £13. Not had any problems with signal.

Virgin are turning into a con so beware. Make sure if you are offered something it's on the original plan and double check this. Also I'm not the only customer who had the sudden data being eaten problem according to other forums. And be prepared for a fight if you have a compliment or they take money they should not have.

They have also just whacked my TV package up by 40% so that's another cancellation coming their way. The service is awful don't deal with their customers well. Avoid if you can.
NICE.. Just got 2 of them!!! Just as my EE contract runs out... did have to commit to 12m, but its cut my bill in half, so Im well happy with that!
