Virgin mobile sim only deal £5 - Existing customers only.

£5 per month for 250 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb of data. I was paying £7 for 125 mins and 500 mb of data but when I clicked on change tariff within my account there was loads off tariffs including this one which is fine for me. Could be worth checking your account to see if a better tariff available

NB! Only 250MB (not 1GB) of data for new customers!

Hi, I didn't say would be available to new customers. More a heads up if you already have a sim with them. Anyone know how to add a screenshot?

Is not 1gb is saying only 250mb ??? Please send me link

cheers op, just changed mine and my sons to the new tariff, there was loads to choose from.

I got unlimited mins/tex. 1gb of data. £7p/m 30 day contract

Only just gone with them for 1 sim, nothing currently better than £7 in my tariffs list (is a £5 one but no data included), but will keep checking back to see if things change.

Not a specific link. You have to login to your account, then on your plan, then change tariff. Brings a screen up with all available tariffs to you, mine shows loads including the one mentioned. I would add a screen shot but no idea how to.

Currently with them get unlimited texts and calls 5GB internet for r £9. Reception is poor in some places.

The norm for retentions seems to be,fyi:
1200min unltd text and unltd 3g = £7

That kind of thing... Just sayin

ive got sim only 2500 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data and free virgin to virgin minutes £10

Like Hitlers bunker in my house

Thanks for posting this deal, gonna change from paying £12 a month to whatever i can find that suits me.

Cold virgin media customers only and no 4g and only 250mb

I got unlimited mins/tex. 1gb of data. £7p/m 30 day contract

i get the same, but for £8 a month but i did agree to it being a 12 month contract, so hopefully i can nudge it down to that when it ends.

virgin are fine, but the reception isn't great and there's also little chance they'll be launching 4G anytime soon.

I actually pay £6.50 for my Virgin simo rolling contract for ULdata ULmins ULtext.
I personally use about 2GB a month but have always wondered what the actual limit for unlimited data is?
How much data would I actually have to use before Virgin got concerned or upset?
Answer anybody?

I'm on this but instead of 1GB, its unlimited.

got it through retention

Can someone please amend the title to show it's for existing Virgin customers only?

Rubbish. I'm on a £7 sim only deal and just looked at changing my tariff, but everything below what I'm paying offers less. Not a deal.

Even though the call centre staff will swear blind there isn't one, the fair use policy on unlimited data is 3.5gb.

I'm an existing customer and can't find this deal

I was on 512 mb for £5.12 (with existing customer discount I believe). There is £5 for 1Gb so I am swapping - will call them to ensure I have the appropriate discounts! (This is data only).

More trouble than worth, 1 - despite giving Vermin Media my Name and my bank account details... They set it up in my partners name and her bank account details - easy mistake? When I phoned up to complain they wouldn't even speak to me because the account wasn't even in my name.... Then... when that was resolved... they changed the deal, refused to put me back on the original deal but at the same time kept trying to get me to sign the rest of my family up - cancelled outright there and then, If a company cannot get your name or bank account details right then AVOID!

i am with virgin and pay £6pm for unlimited mins, unlimited texts and 1gb data...

this isn't a great deal imo

I paid £17 pm for unlimited everything on Virgin. My friend told me to ring up and say I had a better deal with EE. I now pay £7 pm for everything bar the data which is 3gb. Virgin are great to negotiate with, top notch customer service. Hot from me, whatever the deal is as undoubtedly you can do the same with any sim deal and end up paying less for a lot more.

Currently topping our sons mobile up with £10/month with Orange, but having just moved to Virgin Media for TV/Fibre/Landline, these existing customer deals are now available to me.

Gonna get him the £5/month sim, which it says give 250mins, unlimited texts, and 250mb data - all of that is enough for him right now.

Next year when my contract is up, I'll probably get one myself, but with more data.

I'm an existing customer of Virgin and I get 600mins unlimited texts and 1gb of data for £6.50.. On it from the past 3 years:)

Ive paid £5 for years and get a much better deal than this.

Ive just checked my package and ive got 600 mins to any network. 1MB and 800 standard texts i think.
Of course i can call and message other virgins for free.

For those that want a consistent, good 3G service, this is not for you.

Was on £17 VIP package but £7 discount making it £10 a month. Have been with them for 2 years and was getting more and more frustrated at the rubbish, laughable 3G reception. Even when it was good, the speed was a joke.

Decided to jump ship to BT Mobile with 4G as I can get a monthly discount. Even though it is more expensive, I now get 4G with no speed issues .

VM is also not Plex-friendly just so you know.

A 'Poundland' deal IMO - very cheap but not a quality product.

(Cue the comments like "reception is fine for me" blah..blah..)

This is all I see at the lower end:
Starter £6.00 a month 0 minutes 1.00 GB data 0 texts
Tablet SIM £5.12 a month 0 minutes 500 MB data 0 texts
Starter £5.00 a month 0 minutes 1.00 GB data 0 texts
SIM Only £5.00 a month 100 minutes 0 data Unlimited texts

You must be special

They use the ee network. £9 unlimited everything here. Very pleased with my service

Only £10 or £15 alternative packages offered on mine. Big Data & texts or Big Talk.
I know I'm on a poor deal compared to others, £7.38 per month 125 mins, 5000 txt, 500MB data. (plus 3000 minutes virgin to virgin).
Last time I phoned they would not improve it so I requested a PAC. (I don't really want to move supplier.)
My son gets 250 mins, unlim text, 250MB data for £5

Brilliant! I was in same position as OP paying £7 a month for 150 mins and 500mb. Have seen Virgin sim only deals here on for months but never been able to take advantage until now. So I am now on 250 mins and 1gb of data for just £5 a month, saving 2 quid a month and getting 100 more mins and half a gig extra of data. Thanks!

I pay £10 pm 2500mins unlimited data unlimited text

Am I right in thinking that one of these sims would work in a phone "locked" to EE?

For SIMO arrangements after circa Jun 2012, the "unlimited" data is unlimited, however there is an AUP (acceptable use policy) triggered when a user exceeds 3.5GB bandwidth in any one billing month.where data speed is throttled to max 3G speeds for the remainder of the calender month (where 3G speed = max 384kbit/s downstream, 200kbit/s upstream). So once the monthly 3.5GB threshold is reached, the quantity of data that can be used remains unlimited, but the max speed of the data is limited.
For my £7 / month providing unlim calls, unlim txt, unlim data and unlim calls to 0800, 0808, 0845 & 0870 numbers, the AUP seems reasonable.

I pay only £5 and get 100min, unlimited text and data included.

I'm on the 'essential' £12 a month a deal which offers 1200 minutes, 1gb of data, and unlimited texts.

The only deal that's better is the VIP sim only with unlimited everything but that's slightly more expensive at £15 a month.

I've been with them a while, worth giving them a call? Some of you guys are on awesome deals.

My mobile web is getting shocking with Virgin. Been with them for several years, and it genuinely appears to be getting worse. Plus, text service is occasionally all over the place, with texts arriving up to nine hours later.

Going to try someone else as soon as my contract ends. Hot on price, but not for me anymore.
