Virgin Mobile customers who were affected by Tuesday’s outage will be offered free data or compensation, the firm has announced.

Thousands of customers were unable to make calls, send texts or use mobile data for several hours on Tuesday. The firm’s said that affected customers will be given 5GB of free data on Sunday, or the cost of a day’s airtime for those with an unlimited SIM, as it includes unlimited mobile data.

Can I ask for the same amount of money they sell 1 gb for x 5 times that would be 5 x £10 = £50.
Worst company in Britain! They clearly don’t care about customer service
When you're on a unlimited everything contract a bit of extra data is pointless. And as for a days refund well, wow... That's about 60p! They really know about customer service

I would prefer an apology, recognition that they left us all in the dark and why; what actually happened and what they will do to make sure that we are better communicated to in the future. I would say they are throwing money at it, but there will be a minority of people when benefit

I sort of get your point but...
How do they communicate with you when there's an outage?

Far too much hassle. Now take your 50p and be grateful. Next please......

Get yourself a 35p chocolate bar, 10p chomp, 10p freddo and 5p penny sweets.
Rubbish, a few pence doesn't make up for the inconvenience!

The same way they communicated they were putting contract prices up.

How much do you expect them to pay? When you pay 60p a day for service, you can't really expect 100% uptime. I agree with the other poster - full transparency on what happened and what is being done to prevent it would be much more persuasive.
That's my point: it's not about the money, it's about the lack of service and the risk to business and family arrangements.
Pretty pointless posting this. Everyone that's on virgin and been effected would've already had the text informing this. Talking of which, it says 5gb to use on Sunday. Is that the only day, so you have to try n use up 5gb in one day lol
They claim it only affected a few customers. So they'll be putting out about £1.80 total then? Big impact to their bottom line.

Their website and Twitter are easy ways to communicate to customers.

Never bow down to poor service. It will only get worst if we all just take our 50p! Next please.........
So to use on a Sunday when you’re most likely to be at home or at a friends and using WiFi?
Be grateful you only lost data for a day; I was left with no mobile data connection for weeks and my complaint was ignored. Had to leave in the end. In the final telephone call after I got my PAC, they offered to give a deal to my friends and family! Jokers
Yes I could see that they added 5gb to use tomorrow for one day on my mates sim account...ridiculous...take it back!!
