Virgin offering longest ever 0% balance transfer period of 18 months!

Virgin offering longest ever 0% balance transfer period of 18 months!

Virgin have just increased their interest free balance transfer period to 18 months

As far as I know this is the longest ever 0% duration offered by any credit card provider.

As with any balance transfer card there is a small transfer fee - 2.89% - but this is tiny compared to what most people will be paying on their current cards.

MBNA and Barclaycard were already offering 18 months. Not sure if they are still doing it but if you have over £3000 to transfer then Barclaycard Platinum give you £20 credit to offset some of the transfer fee.

Barclaycard are definately still doing it, MBNA is only 17 months though but also available so you might want to edit your title about being the longest ever offered by any provider lol, the 18 month deals have been available off and on for years now.

Is the Virgin credit card still run by MBNA or is it someone else now?

This is true, Barclaycard are also doing it but the transfer fee is a tiny bit higher and once the 0% period ends their rate is 2% higher than the vigin card.

I think MBNA are still run by Virgin so guess they will follow suit.

Why is this cold??

and barclaycard are no longer offering the discount so virgin is the better deal...

How do these card issuers get away with "0% balance transfer period" and "transfer fee - 2.89%"

It is immediately NOT 0% then.

the transfer fee is a one off so once you've paid that's your lot. I looked around and they all do it these days

Doesn't make it right though (_;)

I agree, but they all seem to be doing it so still a good deal. Noticed the Barclaycard deal was very hot and this is slightly better so don't see why people are voting it cold

its 0% interest on balance transfers, the 2.89% isnt interest its a charge for the transfer itself. Therefore it is 0% on exactly what they say it is.

Because of your assertion that it is the longest on the market I suppose.

Apart from that inaccuracy it is hot.

I just transferred my virgin balance to barclaycard.

Ahh, the joys of being a card tart.
