Virgin player bundle - VIVID 100 fibre broadband + Talk Weekends + Player TV + either Echo dot or £50 credit for £29/month: Total £368 & £144 back through quidco compare (if that pays out £14.50/month)

I think this is correct as it does seem rather cheap if everything goes to plan.

If you go to Quidco compare: broadband it shows a cashback amount of £144 for the Player bundle currently on offer at £29 a month + £20 set up fee on a 12 month contract

  • Player TV: free to air channels but you do get the TV V6 box
  • VIVID 100 fibre broadband (was VIVID 50) upto 108 Mbps
  • Talk Weekends: weekend calls to UK landlines, Virgin Mobile numbers, plus inclusive weekend minutes to 0870 numbers
  • Free Echo dot or £50 credit (offer expires 6th June)

Maths homework:
12 (contract length) * £29 + £20 (set up fee) = £368
Deduct £50 credit = £318
Equivalent to £26.50/month

£144 quidco payout works out at £12/month, so factoring that in makes it £14.50 a month.

If you're currently on openreach supplied broadband like me, a cessation charge of around £30 will apply, so in effect the £50 credit goes towards paying that an set up to make it £17 a month.

My contract with plusnet doesn't end until 17th July, so if anyone does proceed through the checkout can you check if I can pick a connection date just after 17th July.

Yep the TV player is basic TV.
Good deal - I'm sure they have screwed up on the amount of cashback listed for this bindle though. If you look at Quidco directly rather than Quidco compare you'll see the amount of cashback for the player bundle is much less. If you go for this I'd advice taking lots of screenshots of the offer and the terms and conditions just in case quidco try and pay less.
You’re never getting that much cashback. £29 is a fair price, so not the end of the world when cashback tracks around £40.
showing on quidco as

Amazon Echo Dot or £50 bill credit with all fibre broadband and phone bundles

+ up to £125 cashback

but will more likely be

£40 cashback

for the Player Bundle with up to 50Mbps broadband, TV and phone

Got a similar deal from last year about to end. Anyone got advice on renegotiating? This is sort of on-topic for anyone who goes for this deal.

Why will it only be £40? The deal is for 100mbps.

thinking off going for this but only if cashback is correct.
watch the smallprint for the phone line rental cost!
I rang them up a few weeks ago to cancel as my deal for exactly the same was going from £32 a month to £45 (and first bill after the change was £48 for some reason) and the best they could offer me was £39.99 a month.
Usual aggressive sell followed, anyway is it possible for me to cancel my contract and someone else in the household to sign up as a new customer after that date?
I've had a Google search but have found conflicting information as to whether you can or not?

I missed out on this Eco dot or bill credit offer but essentially last week it was exactly the same prices for all bundles as the offer includes double speed on the normal bundles from lets say a month ago. What I've done because these a***holes wouldn't offer me a decent deal as an existing customer even after I gave notice to cancel is this:
let the cancellation notice period end so basically get out of contract. (no one called me from retentions in 4 weeks )
then I called my local branch instead of having to deal with the arrogant pr*cks from their support centre and asked my brother in law (we live together) and he signed up as a new customer.
I now have player TV plus phone line plus 350mbs for £39 for 12months. I can always call them after a few weeks and ask them to cancel the TV package or upgrade it or to downgrade the speed of the Internet if I don't need it. Essentially the player tv and phone line are actually free add-ons. Only the internet costs. If I were to downgrade it to 200 it will drop to 34per month and to 100mbs it will drop to 29.

Only downside to this is the installation date is Friday 8th of June so I am 5 days without broadband but it is worth it if I got to stick it to Virgin. As an existing customer they have "offered" me £33pm for 100mbs after I gave cancellation notice. I had to cal them to pretend to not know what happens with the equipment after the contract ends and at the end of the conversation they asked me if "there is anything else" they can help with and I said "not unless you have a decent offer for me". They came up with more than I was previously paying just to show that they don't care I am leaving.

I'm happy with the bundle at £39. There isn't value in the TV package as it is all freeview but the V6 box offers value as you can record shows (aka football games now that the world cup is about to start).

Good luck

LE: it's a hassle and it was stressful for me as every year I feared playing this game with the disconnection and so but this year I decided to do it (of course because of my luck no one called me - maybe it was because I didn't want a bundle - only broadband 200 instead of the 100mbs for which I was paying 30pm). It's worth it for me as Virgin is the only company that does over 100mbs (hyperoptic and others are not available in most of the country) I guess that's why they can afford to use this "strategy" and be arrogant. BEcause they know people have no other alternatives if they want high speeds. And I personally had no issues with their service - I always got 100mbs + and download speed was sometimes 12-13 mbs instead of normal advertised as 10. I just wish they would employ a different customer retentions/ deals strategy and not have some people on ridiculously low prices compared to competition (BT/ Sky) for double the speeds, and other customers that don't dare to do this or weren't as lucky on expensive packages

Try this for some other virgin deals. https://www.virginmediapartners.com

I already had a order placed with virgin on 11th May for installation on 12th June. I placed a new order and cashback tracked with email confirmation for £144.

When I called the pre-installation team to cancel my original order they got my bill down to £16.50 per month...that is guaranteed and i am not at the mercy of quidco honouring its cashback which might be incorrect, but they have confirmed via email so they should honour it.

I decided not to risk it and opted for £16.50 rather than chance it with cashback.

You got a great deal! I just signed up there is a bonus £20 quidco at the moment for switching, that has tracked. No tracking confirmation on the main deal, I need to contact virgin anyway as I selected the wrong Installation option so will see if they offer me something similar....can't see it to be honest.

How long did it take to get the tracking confirmation email?

Mine took about 12 hours to track. Might give them a call in a few days to try my luck and get a similar deal like pep411!
Thanks op. Nice find.Signed up last night. There was an option to collect the box and the dates started from june 16 to approx july 16. There was no mention of service switchover date. I couldnt find any option to select line rental saver during sign up. Do you think the cashback will be honored if i call virgin and pay for line rental upfront? Still waiting for quidco tracking confirnation. Hopefully it should work out fine.

Thanks, woke up this morning and it has tracked twice at £144 each time...always a worry they'll cancel both....
I'm after the Mix bundle, broadband and Phone.

What cash back is available for that package? Can't seem to see which one is it.

Mine are not working since they changed from NTL to Virgin lol. That was 2007. Nobody ever was smart enough to figure it out why I can't log in. It was working when it was NTL. When they changed to Virgin it stopped somehow.
Is the quidco deal over? Says upto £125 now but that’s maybe for the top package.

Happy you got it sorted. What did you ask/speak about when calling them up?
I said I wanted to cancel because my cashback wasn’t paying as much as I thought it would do. So wasn’t the deal I was expecting.

Is this £90 credit on top of the £50 credit offer that was running? My cashback has not tracked at all so was thinking of doing a chat with virgin.
No . Just 90 altogether. Not as cheap as I wanted but I should hopefully get quidco as well
For the people awaiting Quidco tracking, has yours now tracked successfully?

The £144 cashback deal was still showing yesterday so I've put in an order but not seen any tracking at all yet, and it's due for delivery on Saturday. I can't submit a claim with Quidco because it says it's < 7 days, so what should I do?

My quidco didnt track too..i am going to call virgin media and tell them about the cashback that didnt track. Will see if they can give some credit to compensate for that. Reading at some of the comments on this thread, ppl had some success trying to get credit so will see. Let me know how it goes for you as i am in the same boat.

My equipment was due for delivery on Saturday (I was away at the weekend) and my Quidco tracked at £144 on Saturday morning I hope others have had similar success
I called virgin media and told them that my quidco compare didnt track and asked them to cancel the order. The pre installation team then offered additional £120 credit. I took the offer.
Just to confirm that my £144 cashback has been paid.
