Virgin Sim only Flash Sale - 5000 Minutes, Unlimited Texts, 100GB 4G Data £20PM (12mo contract) @ Virgin Mobile

It's finally back! The perfect sim for any data hungry user. 100GB a month for £20, on a 12 month contract.

Not really much more to say on this, other than no other provider is offering this amount of data on a sim only, for this price. Perfect time to pick one up if you are concerned about RPI increases, as it is due in July next year, which will be towards the end of the minimum term

I have this tariff & can confirm that data rollover applies on mine - 200GB available at the start of every month now. Last time 3 retentions matched this offer too.

Roaming is 6.33GB free in EUEDIT 25th August: I just realised that the EU roaming will be based on the £30 plan cost as it shows £30 with a £10 discount - 9.49GB - note this relies on Virgin knowing the rules - this may not be a given

Just noticed I have an Everyday Offer on my Lloyds for £50 cashback on any Virgin sim over £18. If TCB tracks too that's less than £12 a month for 100gb. Not bad at all34859753-OREYy.jpg

Good deal this is. I pay £16 a month with Vodafone for unlimited mins, txs and 20gb of data which I will never use. Great for a student tho I suspect
Great price. Heat
Fan deal, however you can only use 6.95 GB of your data abroad pro rota unfortunately! A big difference from the competitors.
Great**

really than it is uselles really if you travel a lot. . . .
To be honest even if you just take general holidays for the average user with kids (hot-spots) it's a very low allowance, specially with a lot of accommodations charging for WiFi ect.
What is the amount of tethering you can do with that and what's the speed compare to EE?

And VMo do not offer 4G roaming on their new contracts.

wow that is a shocker . . . so only good in UK . . .
Are all this data 4g or they cap it after a certain usage amount?

I have the 20gb +80gb deal that was on before and mine only rolls over the 20gb sadly, though I rarely use it all.

You have a 14 day cool off period to cancel for any reason.
Does anyone know what WiFi dongle would be able to support this Sim?

Pretty sure they do. I have been to Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, and Spain in the last 6 months and I've had 4G. Either way, data roaming works for me and allows me to stream stuff and backup all my photos.
What I would add is that I have to manually change the APN sometimes, but that is because I'm using a Xiaomi Mi 6 which isn't a supported UK device.

Thnx. i’ll give them a call…
Some of us have just had 50% price rises because our 5GB for £4 deals were not commercial viable, they didn’t increase our 40GB for a tenner and then they offer this sort of deal.
Is this better than vodaphone or voxi this is very tempting ?
Switched to virgin earlier this year , data limit is great . BUT I have data speeds & network coverage poorer than both Vodafone & EE .

Really? Virgin use the EE network.
Anyone already an customer with virgin mobile? And managed to get any discounts on this plan? Thanks

Really? Virgin use the EE network.

Still, most networks that piggyback on EE's network are getting worse speeds from them. Makes sense to keep the best for themselves. I'd guess the coverage is the same.

Correct but the direct EE customers get the data speeds first and other networks which piggy back dont get the same

COLD = NO TETHERING!

I tested Netflix on tethering and used almost 100gb without any issues.

Super hot deal..
I got this deal last time. Got rid of my home broadband now I only use this for TV and computer. Always starts the month with 120GB 20GB rollover, fastest speed about 30Gbps,7 times quicker than my old home broadband. £48 cash back also, so works out at £16/month.
wow super hot, just signed with o2 SO 20pm 18gb with netflix! would get this otherwise.
Seems to be a lot of conflicting information knocking about here.

So can either existing customers or someone who knows confirm the following.

(a) Can you Tether? and if so is there a limit per month that's less than the 100GB data usage?
(b) EU roaming. Again is this limited to a lower cap per month?

Thanks
Thanks!
missed this last time

we get speeds of up to 40Mbps cannot grumble with that, the only difference on the EE network is that you wont get the EE only speeds, some areas though do see speeds lowered but thats what EE do with all the players like VM but saying that in our area they are up to 10Mbps better than the other companies.

Tethering has always been there just in the T&Cs you shouldnt have done it, however since Feb of this year that was removed and tethering is now allowed.

VM have also taken in some of the back office operations from EE, this is supposed to allow them greater freedom to do what they like on the EE network, part of that looks to be them allowing tethering. All existing VM customers with a red sim are being moved to the new purple sim that new customers get.
i have BT mobile atm will give them a call today if they can mach this offer so I will stay with them

they cant get near it! just spoke and cancelled
I've got one other question also.

I'm sure i've read in other Virgin Mobile threads. That they aren't allowed usage of the Band 20 800Mhz range of EE spectrum. Is this true? As you can imagine i have googled but seem to get conflicting reports on it.
