I have one of these - I got it as a gift with a Virgin mobile - it was a crappy mobile and I took the deal deliberately to get it.

Positives - Massive screen so viewing tv and films is great. Most android apps can't identify it which is actually a positive - BT Sports doesn't see it as a large screen so you can use it without the additional fee. You oddly have to get Netflix from a different site - it isn't available on Google Play. And due to the screen size doing split screen is another positive. It has a USB port and a micro SD slot.

Negatives - Battery life is probably only 2hrs of film time. Mine has a DC charge port so its more awkward than the old USB adapter being advertised. And well, is obviously really heavy and as said the android version is a bit dated and the processor isn't the fastest.

Honestly, if you only want to watch tv on 14 inch screen - this is a very good tablet, but playing games or something that requires a lot of processor speed - take a pass.

Again, you're stuck with an old version of Android (4.2.2), but it's a decent bit of kit and a nice 17" screen.

You can get last gen iPad base models for 239.99. It is a considerable jump in relative but your user experience will be infinitely better.

Not with a 14" screen though - and that's the raison d'etre of this tablet. I've got one and coupled with the Pressreader app it's great for reading magazines and newspapers. I've also got an iPad Pro 10.5 and the Telly Tablet is better for this job. The Telly Tablet is also great as a portable TV I can watch in the kitchen, the shed or in the garden.

Apparently released in 2016, old software and I can’t imagine much working in Android 6 now.

Rubbish cpu, I’d suggest anyone considering buying this tablet, don’t. It’d be like throwing cash down the toilet.

a mediatek cpu at 1.3 MHz is poor.

only plus side is full hd and 3gb ram.

avoid

This is exactly our experience. Love it. It's like a mobile telly for the house... Perfect for various things.
I have a HP slate 21 pro.. now that's a touchscreen tablet!! Rare as hell!

No, the biggest built in battery tablet I have had is the swing galaxy view . 18.4 inch

I've had one for a few years and find it really useful for reading magazines and watching streaming video and TV.

The tablet also has a dedicated high speed charger, but will also trickle charge through the micro USB port. I am very happy with the one I've owned for a couple of years.

Some including myself prefer the Android user experience.

Hi, so, does BBCi Player, and other TV catch up apps. load okay, and work well? I know some apps won't load if the Android version is too old. Also, would like to use as photo viewer, is it suitable for such an application? Grateful for any info, cheers.
Sadly too niche for custom firmware
Does it have GPS?
Tempted, but I'll stick to my Archos Access 10.1. It's Android 7 & dual SIM enabled!

My Son uses iplayer on a tablet running Android 4. Its fine.
Bought this from them a couple of weeks ago with a 20% discount ebay promotion. It's on Android 7 now after the system update. Please note that you might need to do a factory reset after the system update or the tablet won't work (auto shutdown 10 seconds after power up). To do a factory rest, press power+volume up for a few seconds then select Recovery\Factory Reset.

Yes, iPlayer, ITV Hub, My 5, All 4 and Netflix work perfectly. I would think it would be ideal for photo viewing - if you message me with any apps you would like me to test I would be happy to oblige.

Thanks for the info, it seems this will be perfect for my intended use. The apps you mention are the ones I was interested in. You've been of great help, this is just what I've been looking for, Cheers 🌞

I'm interested in this. I have a Huawei m5 which is fine for me but also looking for something bigger just for streaming really.

A problem with the m5 is that if you use Bluetooth headphones it throttles down the WiFi, so the WiFi is nowhere near as fast when connected to Bluetooth. I think they both use the same antennae or something.

Does anyone know if this has a similar problem?

Also does sky go work on this?

Sky Go works fine. I've not had any problems with Bluetooth and WiFi used together.
