I have Google's Pixel XL and Daydream VR and I'm surprised any of these mobile headsets can be called "VR" (inc. Google's). No wonder some have misconceptions about VR when this is what most people see, they are just "360 Viewers" imho.

Going to be years before these devices become good enough to be considered VR. From my point of view they need to have ~100% accuracy on positional tracking (they currently have 0) before should be considered VR.

You want to know what VR is, go try a Rift or Vive. (Considerably more expensive but then I would advertise a phone as a television because it has some similar features)

Back to post, not voting, wouldn't waste money on this. Spent ages trying to convince myself Daydream View was worth buying as already had a Pixel, in a draw somewhere now. Mobile VR we be the future, but it's just that ATM, the future not now.

Will this work with a OnePlus 3?
Good price. Question is do you really use it. I had mine from one plus deal and it was great quality. However, after using it for approx 3 times, it's now sitting on the cupboard forever

Never used one like this. Don't think I will use it much. Purchased it anyway because it looks cool.

Perhaps no good for films - no hole for headphones on this one as realised …Perhaps no good for films - no hole for headphones on this one as realised through reading through the comments.

Maybe use bluetooth headphones?

Or would that be head-gear-overkill?

Third picture down, shows a big slot for headphones?

Could anyone advise how this set compares with this other one also on amazon for the same price on lightening deal for next few hours: amazon.co.uk/gp/…N1/ this one seems to have built in headphones but doesn't appear to have the controller, which is the better buy?

There is a hole, on both sides to charge and for headphones.

This video also shows.

Sounds like good idea. Not sure I'll be comfortable watching the VR for 2 hours. Is that OK to do? E.g. having the led so up close to your eyes for that long
Wonder how this compares to Home Bargains one at £5.99, hotukdeals.com/dea…453

The resolution is ~halved as shown through two lenses. Just watch the stuff in your phone like normal.
OP, do you think this is better than the one you posted a week ago? hotukdeals.com/dea…715
These things, under any brand, are a complete waste of money. They aren't even close to being VR compatible. If you use them for 3D movies they tend to crop the image to 4:3 instead of 16:9

I have bought two different branded sets, returning both within 3 days.

I felt an idiot wearing a set at home. Wouldn't even consider wearing in public.
They aren't comfy for long term use either
A nexus 6 just about fits into this, just about, without the case. Bare that in mind, whoever has a Nexus 6.
Just received this today but can't get the remote working with cardboard app. It does work with my Samsung galaxy S6 but non of the buttons seem to select anything.

Any ideas?
Got mine last night.

Used iPhone 7 Plus in it, which fits perfectly.

Watched two rollercoaster 3D videos on Youtube.

Probably wont use again (not a review, just usually the case with all these gadgets)
Load of rubbish, returning mine
