Love how people will spend £300 or more on a games console but when it comes to an appliance or some other high quality item on sale, it's compared to a £20 device as if they were on equal footing. Look at the deal and beyond your limited experiences in life.

Stick to your kenwood, you either know or you don’t
sam_of_london22/12/2019 12:05

Very expensive . Similar Kenwood from Sainsbury's for around £60-70

Have to disagree.. until you have tried one of these you won’t realise how much better they are. That’s just my opinion. I’ve had many blenders ranging from the cheapest to more expensive but nothing is as good as these. Plus the warranty is fantastic if you ever need to use it

Excellent blenders.. expensive but well worth the money in my opinion. Had mine for 3 years now
What is the price matching process like with currys? John Lewis for example is ok but dont like how you cant call over the phone and organize it before buying.

Blenders are not rocket science. Kenwood comes with many attachments as well.

@AnkerMan On currys website, Add the desired blender to your basket wait for couple of mins. You will get a chat and ask them to price match by giving the Selfridges product URL you are after. They will generate and give you a one time use code to get the discount or you can ring them to get the price match code.
I got the TOWER 2000w and still goes very strong after 4 years. Can even make ice cream and paid only £30 on offer from £50

It really depends what you need it for.

I make cashew cheese and other raw recipes as well as smoothies, so a £20 blender won't do a good enough just job.

If you just want something to make soups and milkshakes a cheap blender is fine.

I can't afford Vitamix prices, so content myself with a cheaper high powered blender. It's not as good, but it's good enough.

I'd like a new luxury car with room for 3 carseats across the back, but as it is when we are out as a family of 5 I squeeze my skinny ass in the gap at the back of a Chevrolet Cruze. It'll do. I'm not about to start telling people who can afford something bigger that they can buy a second hand Polo with 2 months MOT for a few Hundred quid.

It’s not just the attachments. If you are happy with the kenwood then happy days. 🏻

Yes it's all relative in a nutshell. I still don't like seeing a good deal waste away just because someone can't imagine spending more than £20 on anything. Why even get a cheap blender when you could buy a claw hammer and manual whisker. It's that kind of logic that probably reduces the range of items on HUKD.
Attempted a JL price match for the e310 model. Told there is no stock online despite it clearly showing availability to order online. Sent a screenshot and still nothing. Tried calling them and they said I have to submit online. In The email response Been told to go in store and see if they can price match it there but this contradicts what I was told on the telephone. Not impressed.
Edit: ended up buying from Selfridges

I wouldn't touch a vonshef blender. Mine didn't last more than a year with mild use. They're cheaply made

You've lost me, you might be talking about a food processor rather than a blender, either way with a Vitamix you won't need spare parts......different league all together.

Don’t need to find spare parts with these as it comes with a 10 year warranty!
I think it's hilarious those that try and justify £400-500 on a blender by comparing it to games consoles, cars or whatever! You want to spend that kind of money on a blender, go for it, just don't pretend that it has some magical powers that mean it can blend stuff that a KitchenAid at a third of the price can't!
Actually blenders are quite different, the ninja variants are not good at all compared to the vitamix, tried a kenwood one too, poo at crushing ice, I've actually tried a few and settled on the sage boss blender, annihilates anything you throw in it. Vitamix is also up there with the best.

I don't think anyone's pretending. When you have to feed someone through a tube due to disability you soon realise what high power blenders are capable of. Your £150 kitchenaid with only 600W just isn't going to cut it.

Salter looks a good deal. Not sure what blending a phone with a £600 blender proves though.
I agree Vitamix is the Rolls Royce of blenders I tried one of these and it could do a hot soup in a couple of minutes and ice cream which the ninja or any cheap blender out there can not do.

Which is the high powered cheaper blender that you have pls, thanks.
Great deal OP we have had the vita mix pro series 500 for about 5 yrs now. It is as good as day one. Superb machine IMO.

Clearly you've never tried or have a need for a Vitamix type machine.

And yes, comparisons with cars and consoles are well justified.

When you need one, you'll understand matey.

Yep I used to think people were crazy for buying vitamix blenders, until a friend convinced me to get one and I have to say its one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I have this, but it's not available anymore
amazon.co.uk/Nut…39Y

It's a rebranded Salter.

I've had the below the past and that was good too
amazon.co.uk/Dur…0T0

I find sadly most blenders burn out after a yearish if you use them daily or do things like cashew cream in them.

It's worth getting the Amazon extended warranty on blenders as it's about £12 for two years, covers accidental damage and is pretty good in terms of service. On items below £100 they declare it beyond economic repair and issue a replacement, but the warranty ends at that point.
I’ve had the pro series 750 since 2015 and it is the dogs dusters. Absolutely brilliant machine and it blends through anything.
So tempting..haven't seen it drop in price like this, thanks for posting op!
Also very tempted to purchases

Thanks so much. Yeah in similar boat now. Had kenwood fp691a used almost every day and now packed up after 14 months. Luckily we had taken 3yr replacement care so got our money back as they dnt sell that model any more. Now back in market looking for something more solid. Will use your tip and look up in amazon.
