For the price the reviews seem good enough.

Same old really for any cheap camcorder - not good for recording in low-light, so best for outdoor use. Great for those family holidays or taking out and about with you, you aren't risking carrying something expensive with you.

cheap enough even for me to think twice about buying

Yes - do you expect Lithium Ion for this price?

Thats not my point...one AAA.....thats not much power so expect it to run out of battery really quickly.

It would probably be worth investing in the Lithium batteries which are designed for use with digital products - that would last quite a while longer.

I bet this is a bunch of toss.

On Tesco the description is for a dvr925 with 8M pixels while the pic and title suggest its a 5M pixel dvr508. Chances are its the 508 at this price. The 925 is £70 on Amazon.

£24.99 on Amazon:

I found this demo video:

I'd agree with Parwez's comment - great for kids.

Its awful, even for kids! the bitrate looks terribly low and it looks like 15fps - In short, my 4 year old mobile phone takes better video than this.

bought one last yr for daughter... pants... ok for younger kids but rubbish for teenagers and over.

Many years ago Vivitar was a well respected photographic brand but these days it appears its slapped onto any old tat. Best avoided I think.

I looked at some quality tests on youtube. It honestly doesn't look bad, quite similar to the MD80. And apparently operates poorly in dark. Spend another £40 on the Kodak Zi8.

better stick with sony!

NASTY VIVITAR Stay away -

No he expected a car battery for this...lol

I bought this camera after seeing the posting and once I had received it I phoned customer services and explained the camera I purchased was not what was described. I was polite and expressed I was attracted to the description ....
I now have the vivitar 865HD for no extra cost.

My phone shoots better video than this?

Voted hot tho, as suppose cant expect to much for that price.
