Worst customer service of any broadband companies out there.

Worst customer service of any broadband companies out there.

There are terrible but believe it or not they are one of the best of a really bad bunch. I don't think there is a single provider with decent CS.
How any one can contribute to Branson is beyond me.
But if you dont need to use them (CS) its a good service. Paying 25 a month for 18 months for 110mb and it's not missed a beat yet!

Just got a new contract myself for 200mb big bundle for £43 a month. Definitely gonna speak to their CS about this deal lol. I'll happily sacrifice 100mb for a £14 saving a month!!

I have had good customer service experiences with Sky and Now TV (same company), and some really nasty ones with Talk talk and Virginmedia

I don't care much for the bloke but this line of thinking is silly, do you follow the accounts for everywhere you send money? You would probably get a surprise at the type of people who end up with a piece of it.

Don't worry he will be earning something every year that's what he does .
Don't forget TCB and Quidco with Broadband Genie
Would never recommend this company. They been slowing internet speed. Customer service below appalling. Cancelled before renewal.
Called there as we have Virgin media, they did not know about it, advised we can cancel my partner's account with them and I can sign up as a new customer, anybody have any experience of this? He said there would be no loss in service but very suspicious about that.

I’m paying £45 for the same deal having signed up before Christmas via TCB and it’s meant to be going up to £72 I think.

Will definitely need to call them up for something cheaper or have someone else sign up in their name.

Also, anyone know the cheapest standalone phone service you can get?

Do this every year. You might have a little down time on switch over day, but normally not. For a Broadband only deal definitely do it. If you have a deal including phone line just be aware that you can't keep your number

How about porting number to something like Vonage and back again?

Turned off wifi broadcast (not modem mode) and plugged in TP link mesh wifi for the house with ethernet running to garden shed.

That works, if you are desperate to keep your number. But it's not cost free so factor that into any savings to make sure it's worth it.

Lucky you, I pay for 100mb and I average about 30 at best. Plus it drops all the time
Pray your internet doesn't start shutting off entirely at random. Their support team will insist you need a WiFi Range Booster to solve it even if you tell their support teams that your ethernet connections are going down too...
If people use stock routers and complain then that's half the problem. Signed up with virgin media. Router in to modem mode. Use your own router. Done.

Any reason you didnt use modem mode? You'll end up with double Nat the way you're doing it.

Maybe sometimes it is a choice between up to 500Mb or up to 35Mb.

Had modem mode first. After net dropouts, zero support and engineer no show. Had enough. Reset router, then laziness and annoyance got better of me.

But the better option would be to go full modem mode and stick to own wifi / router.
Is this also for existing customers or only new customers?

I just called and they said only for new customers. Best they could offer was £33.50 12 months Contract.

Probably depends who you get. With these things it's like pot luck but keep trying.

My story is I signed up to big bundle 200mb for £43. Saw this and decided to call up and first guy was like no sorry, can't do it as it's through a comparison site.

Next day I called up again and they said oh sure, £29.99 for 100mb Big Bundle, I can do betterz how about 200mb big bundle, but take advantage of the sim card too for an extra £4, bringing it to £33.99. I accepted and off we go.

Next day I called up because I hadn't received my new contract then asked if there was anything else they could do for me. They added 3 months sports for free (even though I don't need it).

At the time I joined, I also had the £75 credit and they kindly waived the £35 activation fee which they promised would be honoured too.

So it's all about persevering lol!

They're not all bad!

Yeah I've renewed with them a few times in the past. Was on £50 big TV and 350mb in the old place, but on renewal they said it was gonna be £83. I immediately said no chance, gonna leave, got put through and they offered me £48 for the same package. I asked if there was anything else and they gave £10 credit and 3 months free sport. This was a few years ago but worth asking. Don't ask don't get

The real deals only come from the outbound retention team that you can’t ring yourself sadly. Just have to cancel and await the call

There’s still time for it to happen. Have also heard cancelling direct debit can trigger the call. Altho who knows what’s happening with their call centres with COVID right now.. I’ve previously been able to call retentions and request a call back from the outbound team and got one the next day

Did you have to get through to the retention team to get this or just general customer service? I now have less than a month to go out throw the a cancellation request and am expecting a call back from them in n xt couple of days

They called themselves the customer care team, so unsure if they are customer service or retentions these days. Maybe a bit of both but definitely call them up, give them a price you want to pay in terms of budget and say you've found an offer elsewhere, can you match or get close to my budget and they'll get it to match or as close as and will generally offer credit or free channels or boosted internet. If that person doesn't play ball, say you'll think about it and call up again in a few days. Main thing is, if you want a lower price, just keep trying. Annoying as it is, they don't automatically give discounts to loyal customers (all companies same) so just have to persevere!!
