I prefer the Surface Laptop for 1 simple reason is that it has a fast core i7 than this one. Nonetheless it is not a bad device and design for a premium machine, heat from me.

As an explanation for my cold vote - this just doesn't offer a huge amount for the money. The Matebook 13 offers a very similar experience for 1/3 of the cost. Yes the processor/graphics/screen all isn't quite as good, but this definitely isn't worth 3x the price unless you've got cash to burn. It's also well into/past the price point of comparable machines such as the XPS 13 or MacBook Pro - when you're spending this much I imagine many would rather go for the one of those rather than a chinese clone.

To everyone that's voting cold please go and do your research and post a better deal.

Surface laptop 3 cost a lot more for less spec It's all down to what the individual wants.

Thank you Andy!

Thanks for posting and welcome to hotukdeals @DJGiantSquid

Missing a lot more than that. Some banking apps and Google Pay and any Google cloud services such as Google docs, Google drive. The P40 Pro would likely be the best Android phone out currently if it wasn't for the Google services issue, which really cripples the phone's usability if you need any of the above. The 50Mp camera system is the best on any phone, better than the 108Mp system on the S20 Ultra 5G.

A lot of people don't see it that way. I have yet to see proof of the spying. The masses are fed rubbish 🗑. China spies blah blah, and the west is really holly, yeah right. Google is one of the major data mining firms in the world. I would like to give the pro 40 a shot, but when it goes down in price as I can't justify forking top dollar again when I have just got a Note 10+.

Completely agree. Huawei is China's biggest export and yes China has different data security than in the west, but why would they risk spying or breaching a countries data law from the company that brings that most money into their economy? it would not make sense. If the US are trying to get a better trade deal with China then you would want to hit them where it hurts them the most from the company that earns them the most. Hide it behind xenophobia and paranoia and no one questions it. If mr trump put sanctions against a German, British or even a US top 100 worldwide company without any evidence then everyone would laugh at it and it would be more obvious that he was bullying for an anterior motive. And im sure news companies would ignore it, say the words america and china in an article and it instantly becomes click bait. This whole thing has baffled me from the beginning. - due to respect for this deal if you would to carry on this conversation i would be more than happy for you to DM me.

Funny that US is telling and trying to get the world to ditch Huawei over security concerns with 0% evidence. Why does the biggest accuser offer zero evidence and why are US companies exempt to sell to Huawei? Does it make sense to say Huawei spies but lets help Huawei make equipment to do it? US can sell to Huawei but don't buy what Huawei makes? This shows it's always been about protecting US tech economy, trade war and US unable to provide 5G competition

Phones I agree thats true, I can only speak for the people I know and say that they don't use a tablet for banking. But everyone uses their devices differently. This is still a great deal is my overall point :D

I have a Lenovo P2phone only 3 years old but stuck on Android 6. My main banking app now doesn't work on that. So in 3 years time can you be sure critical security apps will all be there on Android 8? Ever iteration of Android may buy you another year ... and tablets (ime) last far longer than phones.

From a tablet point of view I question what benefits major updates actually bring. For instance i use my new MatePad pro tablet the same way i did three years ago on my t3 tab. For phones I can see not getting the latest major update being a factor into a buying decision but i feel you would be cutting your nose off to spite your face if you factored it into for buying a tablet.

Huawei have rowed back on their anouncement last year of support to "we have yet to be informed" (by whom?). So buy this on the understanding that you may only have Android 8. That's enough for me to turn my vote on this deal from hot to cold. Pity as my Huewei Honor 20 lite phone just went from 9 to 10. Go figure. Relevant thread:

Fully supported and will always get them (just maybe not the latest major software). Any devices that have a licence with Google are legally obligated to continue support as you are as much a Google customer when buying anything with GMS. I believe all new devices that are being released by Huawei are effected, but not the old ones. And when I mean new, i mean that have been released this year.

That's unfortunate. I've got loads of Band 5 faces to choose from in the Health app.

No I understood that. How is speaking on calls with the 3?

Not correct. 3i has ANC and has extra mics compared to 3.

Don't know then. Have used it fine on both an Honor phone and a Xiaomi, although haven't played around with loads of faces.

I think the 3i don't have noise cancellation/fewer mics, I think, so that would make a huge difference.

The Huawei Watch 2 uses Wear OS so you can use other apps available in Wear OS. However, the Watch GT, Watch GT2 & GT2e use Huawei's own OS 'Lite OS' which doesn't allow the installation of 3rd party apps. Hope this helps.

I've not changed any region on my app and the watch faces were there but have now gone. I too hope the next update brings them back but I'm not holding my breath.

Nope you cant load apps on the watch the best you can do is upload a few hundred mp3' s to it. Thanks for the replies everyone, just an update I ended up getting the freebuds 3 for a little bit more than the 3i and experience has been positive so far as it's more ideal for everyday use at work or around home with great sound quality, impressive range with very low latency that you can actually game on - latency is significantly lower than my Sony Xm3 though the Xm3 does better isolation and noise cancellation.

Mine arrived today. I loaded the app and paired them with my OnePlus 8 without issue. Immediately upgraded the firmware and played with the noise cancelling options which work well. I particularly like the option to let some outside noise through, although that option is disabled by default. Music is good enough so far, I use Deezer, but I wasn't blown away. Like a previous commenter, I have used wired Sennheiser CX300 and OnePlus Bullets 2 and I'd say that these are on a par with those. Not had a chance to use them with phone calls, Zoom or Teams yet, but I'm hoping they'll pass muster and will become my regular mobile option as I use a Jabra headset in my home office and that's not really a mobile solution for me. Love the in-ear noise isolation with noise cancelling and the fact that you can set the touch control on each bud to perform different tasks. I'm keeping 'em! (y)

You're right. That in ear design dates back to the 80s. I wish apple and all the others would stop copying Panasonic

Today I tried the buds on a phone call outside whilst standing, walking and a car passing by. The only time the caller could hear me was me being perfectly still. When walking you could hear the shoes rubbing on the pavement. Most likely this is due to the overuse of the bone conduction. When a car would pass there was zero cancelation on the outside car noise to the caller. I had asked the caller to record the call so I can hear back by playback the quality of my call and how do I sound. Utterly abysmal performance : they are going back. I bought them for better microphone, clearly the extra 60 pounds over qcy buds, not worth it.

Freebuds 3, when I press claim button is saying "PROMOTION CLOSED" Have you found another way? Thanks

Apologies if it didn’t come across in the post - I had the 2018 version, Core i5 8th Gen, no discrete GPU. Fan noise was acceptable - largely silent during normal daily tasks (web browsing, emails, YouTube, Netflix etc) only really spinning up during light gaming (I mainly used emulators on mine). The fans weren’t overly loud when spinning full speed, were a little high pitched and whiny though.

Do you have a discrete gpu on yours? Hows the fan noise? Heard its a big complaint

Panel appears to be the same one as in the 2018 version - its a good display. Its 3:2 like the Surface devices, which is great for browsing the web. 300 nits max brightness is merely okay - its not terrible, but you will find yourself using it at max brightness more than you think you would. Additionally, contrast ratio of 1000:1 is the same as the previous model - I found blacks on mine to be slightly more grey than I would have liked, but they weren't awful. Having said all that, I found the colours on mine looked excellent and the taller display was very useful for web browsing.

Well last 4 days it's AMD 8 - 10 Intel. :{
