I think you will find that this is under the weight scale that need to be registered...
Doesn't state the weight in the description and looks to me as if it could be within the 250g-25kg range. Just making peeps aware in the case that it does meet the weight range

I thought drones weighing >500g require the licence.

Its 250g before you need to register it....I bought one like this a year back and it only weighs 120g with the battery. So I would suspect this is around the same but it may be best to weigh it before flying it.
crap I never even knew about registering. That means my son can't play with his drone outside now unless I pay. What a load of sh**e, thats about the only thing that gets him off fortnite (and ice hockey)

I'm constantly reminded how disgusting and pervasive our government is. If they keep lowering the drone weight limit, how will I able to spy, incognito, on my 19 year old neighbor sunbathing.
These lawmakers need locked up.
All those unsuspecting kids parents liable for £1000 fines after xmas gifts. Was about to get this for my nephew but think ill give it a miss as wouldn't be in best books with sister if they got £1000 fine!
898g shipping weight according to Amazon. Obviously that includes drone, controller and packaging.

Is this suitable for a 6 year old? To use down the beach.
And anyone used this site before? Can they be trusted?

Everyone who flys anything over 250g outside needs a flier ID from the CAA There is an online test that’s free to take and valid three years

The drone also needs an operator ID on it that is linked to someone over 18 this costs £9 a year

if the drone is operated by two kids they both need to take the test and have flier IDs but they can both use the parents operator ID

I suspect there will be many people in the dark about this and flying illegally on and after the 25th but also doubt the police will really be inclined to do much about it

You can find more details in the BMFA page

Get a DJI Mini..
Be aware that as of June 2020 if the 'drone' (small unmanned aircraft) has a camera the under 250gms exemption doesn't apply. The EASA rules basically say that any weight of 'drone with a camera has to be flown by someone with an appropriate licence!!'
It may also helpful to note DRONE in refernce to these rules is *ANY* unmanned aircraft over 250g. That means model planes, and helicoptors not just these quad copter type craft that most of us think of when you say drones.
Is this the drone that you fly and you can see all around??
