Better to use Mobiles.co.uk or Fonehouse?
Presumably this is the Red Entertainment package like Fonehouse for the same price - yet Fonehouse quotes a base price of £30/month, whilst this is £24/month, which seems odd.

This isn’t red Entertainment

Then it's certainly not a bad deal, but I'd pick the Fonehouse deal purely as it is Red Entertainment On the other hand, I recognise Mobiles.co.uk but fonehouse is not as well known (to me at least!)

Mobiles.co.uk you can submit your bills online and no worry about losing them in the post and missing out on your cashback.

The red entertainment option is listed on the same page but at £18 (equivalent)
What annoys me is as i am an existing Vodafone customer if i want to keep my number it becomes an upgrade and the price increases to £20
The only way i know around this is to port my number to a non-voda sim then port it back which is a pain (unless anyone knows better)

There must be some justification for why Fonehouse has such a bad rep compared to mobiles.co.uk??
News to me, what bad rep are you on about?
Well people here seem to hate them, just look at the latest ee deal posted here. A great deal considering its EE but it's cold because it's Fonehouse. I don't know if it's because of them not honouring cashback or what...

You can go pay as you go but requires a 30 day switch period. So effectively put your request today to go pay as you go. At some point you'd want to take a new contract like this one. Then once switched over to pay as you go then you'd submit a form online to take your pay as you go number and transfer to the contract number therefore keeping your number. I'd say the porting to another number is much quicker but more hassle in my experience. I was always keep in mind that at the end of my contract to take a switch to pay as you go. As I never get good deals compared to the cashback ones. I'd point out you could try the upgrades option though mobiles.co.uk but the rate for 100gb is £20 which is great I got offered 30gb for £20 of Vodafone retentions but in comparison to this deal is pants.
Fonehouse have terrible customer service, tried to get an extra £250 out of me and others after their mistake the night before shipping the P30 Pro. This was after credit checking us and leaving no time to order elsewhere to still get the free Sonos speaker. Refused to escalate the complaint and don’t belong to any ombudsman so nothing could be done about it. Wouldn’t trust them to honour the cash back personally.

I’m in the market for a Red Entertainment sim but waiting someone else to match the offer they have.

port out and back in can be done in 5 days if timed right. Isn't that hard done it the last 3 years with Vodafone to 3 back to Vodafone
Typical, great deal, bought the 22gb Vodafone deal other day for 12.75pm, my number ports over in 8mins 🙈 ah well, I’ll be fine with 22gb anyway!

You should get the 14 day cooling off period if you want to swap

Yeah it should be that easy. Whenever I have ported out and back in Vodafone have hard a hard time getting the number back in for "some" reason. I last did this 2 years ago. And found it headache because someone balls up and they took about 2 weeks to get the number ported back in and applied to the new contract. I prefer the pay as you go switch as I stay with Vodafone, don't need to pick up a pay as you go SIM and have my main number to another provider having to make texts / calls from a another number (for me vodafone is the best service at work) and it stays under the same account. But that's just me. Whenever I have called Vodafone to say I need to switch to pay as you go, I just say I'm taking a new contract with a 3rd party which includes cashback, tell them the price and they okay it's been processed. NO backwards and forwards with retentions offering 5GB for £12.75.

Yep. I just cancelled a mobiles.co.uk deal to go with a fonehouse deal. They'll try and charge you for providing a service but during that time it's been activated since your order was processed and dispatched to you by then it's been about 5 days when it reaches you so they'll charge around £5-6 I think. Just advise you didn't get the sim until about 5 days later after your order was made and then they'll waive it off or put a credit on the account.

Yeah could do but it’s the draining situation of getting another sim to to number again and cost to do that?
Presuming this is a Red Extra contract. Anyone know what is the best Red Entertainment contact with 100GB? TIA

Is cashback 100% guaranteed?
Not sure if mentioned, but the same £10 additional auto cash back can be applied as the other 100gb hot deal

Cashback is never 100% guaranteed, for instance if mobiles.co.uk go belly up you'll loose it, I had a real hassle with Quidco a few years ago with a sim only contract but luckily I took screen shots of the offer when I ordered it so eventually got my £90 cashback.

Posted about this on another deal, convert existing to PAYG 30 days before contract finishes (so that's their 30days notice) then order the new deal (leave as long as you feel comfortable the deal will still be on within the 30days), soon as you get notice of the date your old number is going PAYG setup on their online form to transfer PAYG number to new contract

Erm? Debenhams, Comet, Maplins, Index, HMV to name a few where all big well established companies, all I said was cash back is never 100% guaranteed if the company goes belly up, I don't think any company is safe nowadays, also I'm not implying that mobiles.co.uk are in trouble but who knows what's around the corner!

Thanks looks like another CPW / Dixons brand. I wonder why they don't merge some more brands.
Thanks OP, I've just placed an order.
I've used Mobiles.co.uk with claiming cashback in the past and it really is effortless.

Yes that's the exact sim I use. Usually stick a couple of pound on it incase I need to make a call or text.
Cancelled my contract with Vodafone within a week. With Red Entertainment SIM package, Amazon Prime video doesn’t work. Vodafone app too fails to register new account to be able to login. Customer service is horrible too.
Got my SIM and just done a speed test in my flat in Swansea: 47.0MB download & 25.2 upload - happy days Uploading bills for redemption seems pretty straightforward too! Thanks OP!
What happens after 12 months?
The same offer continues with cashback ?
