Went to cancel my existing contract as the 12 months had finished and requested my PAC code. A few hours later I received a call from the retentions team on 08080024636 who asked me why I was leaving and I said I was planning on going with T mobile on the £15.50 12 month with 600 minutes, 500 T mobile minutes, 5000 texts and a £5 data bolt on with £80 cashback. He then straight away offered me 600 minutes, unlimited texts, and 1GB data along with 100 picture messages for only £10.25 a month which I thought was a cracking deal!

I know this may not be easy to get for everybody but shows its possible for them to do it and might be helpful for some people.

Might be worth a read for people looking to renew: urbanhaze.com/201…ct/

Considering the nearest equivalent is £20.50 on Vodafone offering only 500MB of data without the picture messages I think this is a pretty good deal. Take into account topcashback £50 brings it down to £16.33 a month for less than you get with this. I know it may be hit and miss if people can get it but its the best deal around for Vodafone at the moment.
wish this worked for everyone. if i went into o2 and cancelled i wonder if they'd care
I hope you haven't previously been using around 600 minutes a month, because if so then you'll be paying more than the contract amount.
VF are now charging calls per minute, NOT per second!!
I did a similar thing actually with O2 and got 300 mins 500mb data unlimited texts 20 mms and Bt Openzone wifi for £10.50pm over 12 months. Not as good as this but that's what I got and it suited me. Basically O2 retentions can offer £5pm off a 12m simo deal.
I currently have this deal and been a Vodafone customer for 2 years, but having recently got a t mobile sim for my iPad I have just realised how crap the 3G speed is with Vodafone, anyone else find the same ?

ive always found vodafone great where i live and travel .. now i got rid of t-mobile because the 3G/GPRS was so poor (SW London) .. i suspect it depends on where you live and travel .. in London pretty much all networks are constrained - my 3 MIFI is about the same as my vodafone 3G phone .. technically the mifi should be faster as its HSPA+ but i cant see a diffeence

Looks like a good deal to me as on voda data is hideously expensive out of bundle
I did the same as you and also got offered this price plan, just a word of advice double check you have actually got what they have offered you. I had to argue with them for weeks to actually get them to honour the terms, they promise great deals but then somehow a "mistake" is made and the discount doesn't get put on the system, eventually they corrected it but it took weeks of me bombarding them with calls, texts and emails. Vodafone = good network coverage but shocking customer care.
I have just got 1250 minutes to all network and 3000 virgin minutes and 1GB internet for £11 .
I had 30 day rolling contract for 1 month and i have said to cancellation team that i am going to 3 network.

Thanks Virgin
Thanks for the info. My Vodafone contract runs out next month so I may ring up now asking for my pac code. Plenty of time to try and get a deal in writing as well!

Same here! I was with Vodafone for about 4 years until I got a free year on Tmobile through Quidco and it is far better in every way, speed, coverage and call quality

Now if only I could swing another free year
