Wherever you may roam, the Vodafone R207 Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot lets you take the internet with you.

The Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot will connect you to the mobile phone network, allowing you to fully enjoy all the features of your device. With the benefit of being able to connect up to 5 devices at once, the R207 becomes your personal Wi-Fi hotspot on the go.

With virtually no set up required, the R207 offers 4GB of data usage. Once you use up your preloaded data, your device will tell you when to top up next and by how much. The Vodafone R207 supports HSPA+ (21Mbps) as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards with security encryption up to WPA2.

This Mobile Wi-Fi device comes with 4GB data. Once activated you will receive 2GB of data to start and a further 2GB once the initial allocation is used up. Please be aware that your account will only show the initial 2GB allocation until this is used up. The total 4GB of data will expire after 30 days from activation at which point you will need to top up.

Their listing includes text about 2GB (+2GB), which I presume they drew your attention to when you moaned - or maybe created it when you did... see OP's listing!

Does make me wonder if they rebranded as "4GB" on a 3G device in an attempt to get some buyers to think it was a 4G... device!

I imagine you've not used your initial 2GB allowance then...

Quoted from initial post..

Remember though you only have 30 days from activation to exploit the 2+2GBs!

That would be reassuring if twix41 did start pre-Xmas - and he has nothing to lose by trying to use data beyond the 30 days advertised - though clearly if the data flow on the SIM had stopped working at 30 days it's done what Tesco advertised it as doing.
[It might be a 'bug' when the extra +2GB gets added that a new 30 days starts ?]

Remember once you've used up the bundled SIM's data, that these 3G MiFi gizmos can often be unlocked and used with other/cheaper data providing SIMs [haven't checked this model].

What's your point? Activation comes before use.

You can get these unlocked on e-bay for under £2.
Stick in one of the ee sims from argos.
4GEE 6GB Pre-loaded Data Nano Pay As You Go SIM.

+ "Data valid for up to 90 days." too (+ maybe nano SIM converter)

I am sure I am missing a good deal but I don't understand a word of it.

Would these work in Portugal ? Parents need faster connection while they're out there.

No the EE data SIMs are for UK use only, no international roaming. (Plus this device is a 3G device.)

The device itself would work but not the suggested EE data SIM. You'd still need to get it unlocked though.

Yikes that *is* still available. As I prompted in that other thread when you get to the CPW site (potentially via a £back site - you may as well try!) - search for product code 19500755. Coming up as available for free delivery at £20 with 15GB of data on a 30-day rolling contract including the 4G device - definitely a better deal THOUGH you need to cancel immediately to avoid it being a £40+ cost item/data for 2x30days+ (and go through a credit check presumably as it's a contract not just a PAYG purchase)., Will probably also need to unlock for non EE based future usage but 99p+ on eBay it seems.
