Thanks for your deal. I've added the price and merchant to your title for you

thanks @yinkabears

1 month from activation I think

Bit of a newbie to these.
This includes 4gb of data. Could this last for months if you don't use it all the time or does it expire after a month etc? How much are top ups and do they expire or just when used up?
Thanks in advance

ordered thanks quidco only 1.5% so did not bother.

Yes, you can.

Good deal but not sure I like the top-up prices.

Additional Data Packs
£3 - 200MB - (for up to 24 hours)
£5 - 250MB - (for up to 30 days)
£10 - 1GB - (for up to 30 days)
£20 - 3GB - (for up to 30 days)

Seems good. What is the model of the device? Can it be unlocked for cheap?

Ive been on the 3 mifi 10gb for £15/ month rolling for a couple of years unfortunately they no longer provide this on a new tarrif so i wont be upgrading with them or vodagroan!

Ordered one, thanks to the OP.

Will not be topping up with Voda at their prices.:(

Huawei E5530. Unlock codes on ebay from 99p.
Easy to unlock and manage from a mobile phone or plug it into USB on a PC.
I've used the Vodafone mi-fi app on Android which provides simplified operation and management of the unit.

Thanks will buy one. Seems like good price.

If you intend to keep and use it on Vodafone, you'd be better off trying to get data via carrier pigeon - you can probably get plenty of bird seed for £18 :-)

Can you recommend a cheaper supplier for data if I do get it unlocked?
Thanks

If it's unlocked it will.

so it will work on three network? will there software work with the three network?

Are there any SIMs that anyone would recommend for low usage? e.g. like a few emails and facebook chat?

dereklogan7

If it's unlocked it will.

But will three recognize it as a mobile. Tether etc. From looking at other similar responses the answer is no.

What about the £3.75 p/m TalkTalk SIM? I know it's only a few hundred MB a month, but that's all I'd need.

Would that work with this?

Definately unlockable?

Any acutal 4g Mifi deals?

BIG THANKS on the heads up..
A lot of my buddies travel overseas in motorhomes.. These will be ideal when unlocked..

I bought one of these (from Argos) a month ago as my mum was bed bound in hospital and I had to find a way for her to watch Strictly Come Dancing! So, this is compatible with her kindle and she got to see her favourite show. BUT, the 1gb of free data we got with the thing lasted no time at all (wasn't sure if it even worked as, by the time we'd messed around trying to set the thing up I had to top it up). I know watching live TV is a huge drain, but over the month I would say she got about 4 or 5 hours TV from a £20 3GB top -up. In the circumstances, money was no object, but it was just as well as I spent a fortune. Once we realised how expensive it was (after topping up £20 every 2 days) she rationed her TV watching and found that switching it off immediately after use prolonged the time each top up would last to the aforementioned 4 or 5 hours.

I know I could have gone for a much better, longer term deal, but we needed it for a short, quick fix and it did the job. Will use it again when we go on holiday somewhere with no free wi-fi, but beware the cost! Annoyingly, 6GB of 4G data was only £25 on the Vodaphone website, but as it wasn't compatible with the kindle (no idea about the device) the biggest we could get was the 3GB, making the top-ups annoyingly frequent.

Hope that helps you highgranger!

although this looks like the Huawei E5530 it may not be as it says on the website that this is the r207 made exclusively for Vodafone by Huawei, however this may still be the E5530 just with a different model number for the Voda branding and software ( im no expert so maybe someone can confirm).

assuming this is the E5530
I have a phone sim from 3 with unlimited internet and you cant put it in this device as as soon as you connect the browser brings up a page saying this sim is for phones and doesnt allow tethering. however my sim is one of the older unlimited data contract ones, the new ones do allow about 4gb of tethering but not sure they can also be put in this device. You can put in a mobile broadband sim and tether fine but you do not have unlimited data.

mobile broadband sim with this device is £16 ffor 10GB per month
you can use the sim that comes with thier ipad contract which gives ipad and sim and 15GB @£25 per month

you can tether from a phone with unlimited data with some fiddling, or on the older 3Pay or All in One sims

the only good way you can get unlimited data with unlimited tethering is by getting the business contracts.

anyone know what the real model number is?
is this really 3g? as it states HSPA+
