This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Like all networks, Might not be the best where you are. But works perfect for me. For a tenner You get 8GB data and unlimited mins/text. (3GB data + 5GB extra for 12 months)

BUT as its a "Basics" option:

What’s not included?

If you don’t use it, you shouldn’t have to pay for it. But if you're wondering if there’s anything you’d miss, make sure you’ll be happy without the features listed below:

  • Roaming and international calls are not available with Vodafone Basics – only emergency calls are available abroad with this plan
  • Premium calls starting 09, Premium messages, MMS, M-Pay (or mobile payment software), and calls and outgoing messages with adult content are barred
  • Upgrades aren’t available during your plan, but you can switch to another SIM only or Vodafone Basics plan
  • Extras aren’t compatible, with the exception of Data and 08 number minute Extras
  • Vodafone Passes aren’t compatible

Can the 8gb data be used as modem to connect with my laptop?

Yes. Could also be used for tethering.
great deal. I'm currently on vodafone sim only and looking for a new deal as out of contract and they won't do me a good deal. Hopefully I can ring up and they switch me over to this. Vodafone have the best service for me in my area
Bloody Nora that's a cracking deal!
Wasn't that long ago I was paying O2 £12 for 6000 mins/ 600 texts and 750mb !
"Premium calls starting 09, Premium messages, MMS, M-Pay (or mobile payment software), and calls and outgoing messages with adult content are barred"

Could someone clarify this please? Does it mean my own private texts would be screened for any content deemed "adult" by Vodaphone?
No international roaming is the killer on these plans. It's not "no free international roaming" but "no international roaming at any price". So spend a weekend in Europe and you won't be contactable. Can always get a local SIM and make sure friends/family know the new number, but it's a lot of hassle.

I tried that a couple of days ago. They wouldn't allow me to transfer my number over without first moving onto PAYG and waiting for a month.

Don't forget this one comes with a list of "can't do's" mostly affecting foreign travel.

I am the same situation. 30 days notice to PAYG and new contact......
They do let you move to their Voxi brand without going through so many hoops. Realise no help in getting this deal!

yes same here. Moving away from vodafone now. they have no retentions deals.
I’ve just spoken to Vodafone on chat. And I can confirm that you can buy a 12month bundle upfront. If you’ve already got a 6month bundle then you will have to wait for it to expire.
I understand some Vodafone contracts allow you to receive calls for free when overseas. I don't mean in just the EU regions that most carriers offer, but in their worldwide roaming destinations too, without having to pay a daily charge. Does that apply to these SIMs?

Also, is it possible to port my current EE PAYM number to this? And when I'm done with this a year down the line can I port the number to another contract/carrier?

Not sure about the first question, best to ask them on twitter I'd say.

You can port your EE Pay Monthly number to this, and you can move this number out once the contract is over, yes. If you are currently in contract with EE you'll pay a cancellation fee, as to be expected.
Worth noting: this is a third party only deal. If you ring Vodafone, you will not be able to get this basics SIM. Also, to keep your number from an existing Vodafone SIMO or phone plan, you’ll have to move the number onto a Pay As You Go which takes 30 days notice in order to do so (to then transfer your number to the new line).
can i use wifi calling with this

It’s an online only Uswitch deal apparently, even though it goes through to their website, if you went on their website normally, you wouldn’t be able to find it
God it's hard work trying to get this deal...you try online, says you have to call, you call they tell you to try online...now trying via chat!!!
They told me to order from the website and transfer my existing number to the new SIM they are sending me - why this had to take a month and they just couldn't do it over the phone is beyond me...
No roaming, I live so close to the Irish border I'm roaming half the time. Brexit might not help this at all

Still hot, great deal
