I maybe wrong but i think the law is that they can't charge for roaming. …I maybe wrong but i think the law is that they can't charge for roaming. If you want a similar deal but with roaming and not being tied to a contract then check Giff Gaff.

They are allowed to offer plans without roaming but where roaming is offered, then roaming usage in EU destinations have to come out of your usage (within the limits of fair use).

Except that they HAVE to provide roaming in the EU - no choice on that. I suspect it's disabled to save them money but if you ring them they will active it on that sim.

Sorry about that - should be working now.
It's not being advertised on their website and only found it via TechRadar.
Went onto live chat with Vodafone to confirm, and so have ordered.
Was tempted by Virgin offering 24gb of data for £15 - but I'm never going to use that much so saving £60 a year with this.

That's why I use Skype and local WiFi
Or WhatsApp call, or Facebook call on WiFi.
But, horses for courses.

Any way of getting a sim to try out first, as I live in a black spot?

Also do they allow me to turn on WiFi calling?

When I wanted to see if the signal was any good around me I bought one from shop 99p and put it phone to see what signal was like.
Do they have to provide this? I’d quoted the recent change in EU law but they said this was unavailable. Despite my persistence, didn’t get any further.
Going to go in store.

Hope it doesn't become a trend whereby roaming is only offered on the more expensive packages

Would you mind adding in "no roaming" to the title? Perhaps "no roaming, even at a cost" in the body?

Voted hot BTW.

Anyone interested in this, also check out Smarty too (4GB for £10, no contract, roaming & unused data refunded off next month - I think they use Three though - better for some, worse for others). Also check out mobiles .co.uk - after cashback they have a limited minutes deal for less or more data for the same price. So many deals, so confusing.

Basic plans with basic customer service
Nothing special.

Plusnet offer the same except 6gb data. I've had this deal for well over a year. Plus only 30 day contract.

Actually hope it does become a trend where you get a discount for not getting what you don't need. Good post as you can't find it on their website without the link

Most phone networks offer free PAYG sims, order one of these to try the signal first.

Only if you got your phone directly from Vodafone. There is always sure signal.
Didn't they offer this same deal last month in March also? But it was 6GB data?

Curious why the HAVE TO provide roaming in the EU. They simply aren't allowed to charge for it.

Say I start a mobile network, who is going to force me to come up with arrangements in all other countries to enable roaming for my customers? Is the EU commission going to help in the negotiation of those contracts?

Oh and the deal ends today
I'm about to change my sim only deal as my current BT deal is coming to an end. Am I right in thinking that if I take a plus net rolling contract deal now, and a better one comes next month I can just "upgrade" easily?

Anyone had experience of this.

Thanks.

If we are just saying, I get 20gb and unlimited texts and mins for £12 a month, voda! (Retentions deal).
Only available to new customers or people upgrading from pay as you go
So guys. I'm currently with Three, how do I change providers without having to change my number? Regards
Contact three & ask for your PAC - be prepared for half an hour of drivel, order the new sim & when it arrives give PAC to Vodafone.
