# Vodafone Business sim only £25 per month with £150 c/b & £50 v'chers

Found 4th Mar 2010
Register through Quidco for the 12 month sim only Vodafone business deal (I have done it for my personal phone) for £25 per month and you receive £150 cash back and also with code SMBX1, £50 high street e-vouchers. Effective cost is approx £4.00 per month for 1200 anytime minutes, unlimited texts/landline and data included. Seems pretty good to me.

EDIT: Not £4.00, but as Comon sense points out, £8.33 a month

makes up a bit for the dap X6 I have NOT received

good to me, going to use an existing phone which is only a year old anyway

Looks excellent and coverage looks good where i need it to be. Heat and rep added.

How reliable is the cashback????
Without this it makes it an expensive SIM??;-)

Can personal users take this deal? Where can the e-vouchers be spent? Wouldn't want to take this deal and then not get the cash back, as £25-a-month is a lot for a SIM only deal.

Let's do the maths.

The cost is £21.28 + VAT = £25 a month.

Scenario 1
£25 x 12 months = £300
Cash back = £150
Effective cost = £150 for 12 months = £12.50 a month

Scenario 2
£25 x 12 months = £300
Cash back = £150
High Street vouchers = £50
Total Discount = £200

Effective cost = £100 for 12 months = £8.33 a month

Scenario 3 - BEST POSSIBLE
£25 x 12 months = £300 OR EXCLUDING VAT (if registered, can claim back) = £255.32
Cash back = £150
High Street vouchers = £50
Total Discount = £200
Effective cost = £255.32 - £200 = £55.32 for 12 months = £4.61 per month.

Can the original poster explain his calculation and claim of almost £4.00?
I cannot round any figure to £4
I do not agree with the claim.

What are these vouchers? What are the T&Cs for them?

£25 x 12 = £300 less £150 cashback less £50 vouchers = £100 for 12 months equals £8.33 a month. How do I get it to £4 a month?:?:?:?

No problem......

Actually if you are a real business, the deal is lower.
Invoices are in your business name, so potentially a tax deductable expense.
£300 invoiced: Corporation Tax savings of £63 if not VAT registered as
Effective cost is now £37 = £3.08 a month

If VAT registered, then it's £3.45 a month

As a bonus £150 Quido cashback is in your personal name.
Potentially, tax free if you do not declare it.

I think, that is enough analysis from me :-D

+1 rep to common sense.

Common Sense you better start finding and posting some good deals especially as you seem to be able to give folk with limited companies etc. some good advice. This is the kind of advice that contractors like me like to see.
No problem......

Okay.....off subject:

Premium bond winnings held by children under 16 are made to a parent/guardian.
If you have children under this age, are a high rate tax payer, consider premium bonds.

The limit is £30k per person/child. It provides a way to earn effective interest tax free
because winnings are officially, tax free.

It was good a few years ago when interest rates were high. You could "win"
prizes that were similar to building society interest, with the advantage of being tax free.
Now, since interest rates are so low, it is not so great.
Consider them when interest rates increase and if you are a high rate tax payer.

How reliable really is the cashback?

Voda isn't exactly the most reliable in cashback... I've signed up for Voda's personal sim only 12 month package, that was back in last November 2009 - Quidco at the time offered £100 cashback, yet nothing tracked. I was only able to submit a quidco inquiry last month, and its still not been paid - nearly 5 month now.

Common Sense has pointed out the ideal scenarios, but what about the worst? What if there is NO cashback of any sort? you'd be stuck with 25 quid each single month.

Anyone go for this? Is it tracking OK on Quidco and what are the e-vouchers?

Ordered today. Tracked at £100 within the hour and email from Vodafone confirming the e-vouchers.

just ordered, should get by end of this week.

Order confirmation email confirms the £50 voucher.

Now will wait for quidco to confirm, fingers crossed.

quidco just tracked it at £100!

But the site says £150.

The deal with £100 CB and the £50 vouchers is still good enough to go with; but obviously id like to have a nother £50 cash-back.

Package arrived today with £50 of vouchers and 3 SIMs?! Still haven't got a clue where I can spend the vouchers and I haven't a clue why I've got 3 SIMs as I only ordered ONE.

Biggest ball ache at the moment is in trying to port my number over to Vodafone. Spoke to someone today who said you had to enter the PAC at the time of ordering otherwise you were stuck with the number on the SIM. Re-read the website and it definitely says you can take your number with you.

Whilst looking at the site I became a bit suspicious as the majority of the site does not say Vodafone when you pas syou mouse over the link. Did a bit of digging and it turns out the site is NOT Vodafone at all but a reseller called Data Select. WTF :x :w00t:.

Alarm bells started to ring so phoned Vodafone and they confirmed I did not have a contract with them but with a legit. reseller called Data Select. Talk about dodgy website - it looks like Vodafone, has genuine Vodafone contact numbwrs, even has a Vodafone store locator. Turns out they are genuine and my daughters contract is with them from a previous deal but If you think you are dealing with Vodafone direct, think again..

I'm calling Vodafone in the morning to confirm I only have ONE contract with them and asking what I am supposed to do with the other SIMS.

Interesting, I went to quidco:

quidco.com/vod…ss/

And went via their link, still says same deal tho:

£100 for a confirmed mobile phone monthly contract
£20 for an iPhone Pay Monthly Contract on tariffs below £35
£40 for an iPhone Pay Monthly Contract on tariffs £35 or above
£150 for the 12 Month SIM only

Compatible vouchers
£50 worth of high street shopping e-vouchers when purchasing the 12 Month SIM only
Code: SMBX1
Expiry Date: 26 Apr 2010 00:00

Heres the confirmation e-mail.

And Quidco tracking:

Yep. That's what I've got.

Update: Turns out I was talking to a lying scumbag yesterday :x Just called Vodafone and got put straight through to customer services who took my PAC code and gave me a time and date when my number would be ported over.

Asked them about the 3 SIMs I received and they were equally confused. Gave me the last 4 digits of the correct SIM and told me to hang onto the other 2 as spares. Look slike I am sorted, just need to track the last £50, what to do with the e-bouchers and get on with life. Hope this helps someone.

Oh, Vodafone customer service is 191, check your balance is 44555

Whats the deal with the final £50 of cashback, do you know when we should expect to get it?

Any idea where the vouchers can be used?

It's the norm with mobile contracts for the money to come in 2 payments to stop people returning the SIM 7-14 days later and pocketing the money. I'm impressed we've got 2/3 of the money upfront and the eVouchers with the SIM. O2 deals seem to come with 25% upfront with the remainder 60-90 days later.
Just googled the Bonusbond vouchers and they can be used all over the place. bonusbond.com/Spe…spx

Got this deal end Feb and £156 tracking through Topcashback; also got the £50 Bonusbond which I have spent on a pc monitor. I understand that you get unlimited mobile broadband with the package, can someone please confirm if it is true? Thanks.

That's what the advert says but Vodafone always were a bit tight on 3G broadband. The webpage is a bit ambiguous "unlimied landline, text and broadband" so I have taken a snapshot incase I need it.1Gb over 3G is fairly difficult to get through and it will be at least that.

Thanks mate, got home broadband already so will only use mobile broadband occasionally and don't want to incur any additional charges by going over the vodafone limit but couldn't find it anywhere.

1Gb is around 10,000 webpages. If you download music, app. updates etc. it is best to do them when on WiFi. If you do that you will be hard pressed to get thru 10K webpages in a month. I've got an iPhone so mainly use mine for email, browsing and news sites such as Sky News (includes youtube vids) and the Independant newspaper.

VF limit is usually 500MB, is on my similar personal tariff anyway

I looked at personal SIM deals before opting for this one. There was a 500MB and 1GB deal for the same money but half he minutes and with only £100-120 Quidco ver. £150 plus £50 eVouchers.

I got my sims and vouchers the other day. and £100 of the quidco withn hours of making payment.

i called vod yesterday, they told me i have only 500mb of usage, the usage can be for both 3g and wifi, but i can have only 500mb in total, e.g. 300mb in 3g and 200mb in wifi each month.

This 500mb seems very limited, its hardly "unlimited" is 500mb their standard "unlimited" amount?

Also, they did not say i had inclusive unlimited landline calls. My online vodafone page did not mention it either. They said they would look inkto it, and ended up just adding it to my account then and there. But there doesnt seem to be any record of it on my account page or anything. But i called them back today and the guy at VF confirmed that unlimited free landline calls HAVE been added to my account. So i guess i neednt worry for now, well maybe a little until i get the first bill.

I noticed yesterday that unlimited landline calls had disappeared from my online account also there must be a case for unlimited Internet use being more than 1/2Gb.

Just called them and had the unlimited landline calls put back on and also had a whinge about their definition of unlimited Internet usage. Got them to agree that If I go over 1/2 Gb I would get a text message but would not be billed. The guy I was talking to has an iPhone (same as me) and uses GPS, Sky News, email, browsing etc. and the most he has used in a month is 280Mb so this maybe a mute point but worth clearing up.

Just enquired when I was due to receive the £100 that was tracked in Quidco and got the following response. Carpe Diem. Won't be using Vodafone Business again.

Your Vodafone purchase is currently going through the normal validation and payment period, which can take around 6-7 months in total from the contract start date to the cashback being received by Quidco.
