Vodafone EuroTraveller

If you’re a Pay monthly customer, Vodafone EuroTraveller gives you the freedom to take your UK minutes, texts and data with you anywhere in our Europe Zone (midnight to 23:59, local time). And from 1 May – 31 August 2014 it’s reduced to just £2 extra a day, so you can stay in touch when you're out of the country without worrying about your bills.

You can also use your UK data packs abroad with EuroTraveller, but no other extras. If you’ve got a 4G plan, your entertainment pack only works in the UK.

What are the benefits?
No monthly commitment
Use your standard UK minutes, texts and data allowance with the confidence you do at home
You won’t pay a penny to receive calls or texts (excluding premium texts). Without EuroTraveller, the usual international rates apply to receive calls abroad.
If you use all your UK monthly allowance, you'll only pay standard UK charges
You'll only be charged on the days you use your phone (midnight to 23:59, local time).
Keep track of your account while you're there, with the My Vodafone app
If you get close to your data limit, we’ll send you a text to let you know. Just like when you’re in the UK.
By opting in to Vodafone EuroTraveller, you'll automatically opt out of the monthly spend limit for data in our Europe Zone, because you'll be using your UK data allowance. You’ll still be opted in to the monthly spend limit in our Rest of World zone.

Calling outside our Europe Zone

When travelling in our Europe Zone, if you make a call or send a text to a country outside our Europe Zone, you’ll be charged our standard international rates as well as the EuroTraveller daily charge.

Terms apply. Offer ends 31 August 2014

This is really good... No more worrying about roaming charges.

Wish other networks would do this.

You clearly missed the massive increases hidden behind this "news" (They're FORCED to do this because of European Commision - other will have to follow suite shortly)

I've had this for a while. Great for short term trips, but gets pricey if you go on your hold for a couple of weeks.

Don't Three offer this for free in most countries they have a foot in the market?
Nice to see Vodafone coharging £28 for a 2 week holiday, just to use your own minutes...NOT.

Its a good deal - Used it myself a couple of months ago.
I get unlimited calls on my plan so unlimited calls whilst abroad is extremely worth £2 a day !!
On the other networks you'd be lucky to get 5 minutes to the UK for that price.

Like some American Prez said: You can fool some of the people ALL of the time......

Or just use Toggle Mobile PAYG throughout much of Europe (even France) and other places beyond. Calls to landlines (inc on-line top-up bonus) 2.7p per min including whilst in UK.

I guess you missed the point, they are not charging you to use "your" minutes, they are "allowing" you to use them abroad, which IS NOT part of your contract and this can be fantastic value for money if you are using your data limit (depending on how many you have and use)

It can work out cheaper to buy local sims, but two quid a day to use your own number is worth it. I have unlimited texts and minutes, plus 8gb of data, so this is really handy.

Three offer a free service, but it's fairly restrictive. None if the other networks come close to this. T mob wanted to charge me 10quod for 100mb of euro data.

What do you mean three is restrictive? They offer your bundle in other countries for free. The problem is that it is limited to a handful of them.

£28 for a two week vacation in Europe to use your own 'Plan' IS HOT!

oh cant wait im going paris this sunday whoooo

That's what I meant; geographically restricitve. Perhaps I should have been a little clearer.

Sorry didn't realise, quite new on here

Bless I voted hot anyway.

EU LIMITS: ec.europa.eu/dig…ffs
I think the eurotraveller option is a good option when going to Europe but....
By signing up for any bundle to use abroad most mobile companies opt you out of automatic account limits(50euro, apx £42), and warning texts of 80% &100%. Data abroad is so expensive, can be £8 a mb outside the EU. The problem comes with people who think they are going for the sensible option and go for a bundle to use abroad with a small amount of data(eg 100mb) and then leave data roaming turned on, smart phones constantly use data and will eat up that small allowance in no time. You will then be landed with a huge bill with no warning because the mobile company has kindly opted you out of any warnings or limiting your account.
Always turn off data roaming, use wifi if possible. Also be aware of cases where people have turned off data roaming and still got a big bill. If you leave data roaming on a smart phone will happily use 100-200mb updating apps a month, at £8mb x 200mb =£1600!!

You are not opted out on Vodafone.

edit: hmm... the op would suggest otherwise. But am pretty sure this is only when using it.

I wanted to point out why this deal is probably ok but many are not. On this deal while you are in Europe you use your own uk data but when you go beyond Europe you pay a fortune, but they say they limit you to £42.50 a month in the rest of the world, this sounds ok.

Excellent using this at the moment will save me a fortune highly doubt I will go over unlimited calls texts and 8gb ofndata Lol!

Its the people who get 100mb bundle for holiday and then leave their roaming data on that get stung.... On Tmobile I think they can top up your bundle 10 times a day and you wouldn't know til u got the bill..

What happens after 31 August ? I am going on holiday for 2 weeks on 5th September so just want to know if there is any deal after 31 Aug?

what are the charges after31/08/2014 for eurotraveller

Hi I've just added the voda euro traveller so do I turn my data roaming on now and that uses my uk allowance? My internet only works if I put that on but I'm scared of getting a huge bill.
