Vodafone iphone 4 pay as you go, unlocked for free @ vodafone

As the title says, Vodafone will unlock your iphone 4 on pay as you go for free.

Make sure your phone is registered with your name, i.e. with the original pay as you go sim.

Use the link to enter the NUC request webform:

help.vodafone.co.uk/sys…ull

And usually takes 14 days, mine took just under a month, and I had to email them a few times to get it done in time.

But when it is for free, I guess its worth the wait.

Not sure if it works on pay monthly.

This will work if you're a pay monthly, maybe not on-line but you can … This will work if you're a pay monthly, maybe not on-line but you can ring them up and they should email you the code straight away.

I am not sure if it will work on pay monthly, however what I am sure of is that there is no code as such, they let you know when it is unlocked, and you sync it to itunes with another sim and itunes unlocks it.

16GB out of stock anyway

When I go to the form, it doesn't even have apple or iphone on the list of handsets/manfacturers, how did you select it?

They don't unlock for pay monthly until the end of the contract.

If you intend to buy PAYG, the Apple store is the best way surely? Already sim free. And it's the same price everywhere on PAYG is it not?

guys would you know if T-Mobile unlock their handsets ?, i brought one brand new of Ebay but its locked to t-mobile i rang them and they said we dont unlock iPhones 4 at all !! couldnt believe it :(, thus had to resort to jailbreaking.

I don't see why people wouldn't want to jailbreak. Turns it into the best smartphone out there!

T-Mobile have become a **** company to be honest, fast falling behind the rest in the UK.

I'm not sure if you got lucky or this is a real deal as Vodafone informed me that the unlock channel mentioned above is not for iphones, you have to e-mail customer care who process iphones.
They charge £20 and it only takes a couple of days

Any diff between unlock n jailbreaking.

Any diff between unlock n jailbreaking.

Jailbreaking is loading a hacked version of the iphone software onto your iphone and makes it think the phone's imei number is not the original (locked) imei but a different (unlocked) imei
This is relatively safe if you follow the instructions and the majority of iphone users do this, however it doesn't allow you to have the lastest iphone software as the hacked version is usually 1 stage behind. It also means you have to jailbreak it every time the next hacked version of the software is available.
Jailbreaking also allows you to download free apps and invalidates your warranty (if they find out)

If you unlock it from the network, they register your iphone's imei on Apple's unlocked list, when you connect you iphone to itunes, your phone gets registered as unlocked and you can update you phone as much as you like and do not have to do anything else afterwards

I am in no way an expert on jailbreaking so read up if you want more, there's plenty of places online that will explain it better

Thanks mate l unlocked it from O2 already so no need to jailbreaking
