Vodafone retention deal

Found 5th Jan 2015
Before voting cold some adive for vodafone customers to get the best deal.
Needing a new contract I went through to the retentions department they offered me a sure signal free of charge (£100 in store or about £130 on ebay!!) as I complained about the poor signal in my house.
Also got the Samsung S5 16gb on the £39.50 contract for £27 per month which includes
unlimited text and calls and 4GB of 4G data. ( generally the Retentions dept will offer a 30% discount on the internet monthly price plans without any questions). 24 month contract.
I also get a 20% corporate discount due to my job so worth checking if your profession can get it. So in total a new samsgung S5 16gb plus the phone plan for £21.60 per month.

So the 20% corp discount also applies to retention deals.. dam wish I knew that when I upgraded to the LG3 a few months ago.. would have threatened to leave and got the type of deal you describe.

Yes the retention deal is to keep you as a customer and the coporate discount if applied later through your works scheme.

I got the sure signal device about 18months ago after complaining about the abysmal service in my house. It was fine until they started switching off some sites. However during this "network upgrade" my data throughput went to a max 80kbps in my house - yep 1990s dial up speed!!

I was on 12 month top tariff at the time @ £52/mth which included a Samsung s4. I got refund of the tariff for 6 months and a sure signal. the sure signal is garbage though and why should I fix their poor coverage issue with a wifi network that I have to pay for!!

How close do you need to get to your contract deal to start negotiating. Mines up in March. I'd like to renew online and get some Quidco cashback if it's on offer. Not sure whether it has to have run out to do that, or if I can apply online before hand. Presume the best way to get good retention deal is to speak to them. Sadly VF is the only reasonable supplier for our area. Any thoughts?

You can start negotiating usually from 30 days out. Ask them for your PAC code even if you have no intention of leaving. They will enquire why you are leaving. I usually highlight any issues I have had and a discount is usually offered.

Over the last 12 months or so the retention team have been typically offering 50% off SIM only deals including free entertainment where applicable. Some have even got the first month free.

In my experience Quidco and top cash back only offer deals on new contracts and not on renewals, ive now set up the vodafone sure signal and now have almost full signal through out my house compared to almost no signal before. I also have 3 other vodafone users in my house all will benefit from the improved signal.
Even if you have a good signal, complain about the poor signal and negotiate the free sure signal box and then you can sell it on ebay!!

I am with vodafone on the £20 a month. yesterday asked for the pac code expecting them to offer me a deal as I am after a 12 month sim only deal . They offered me nothing and I really want to stay with them as they are the only ones with good signal at my home.

Vodafone......Been with them for 17 years ......come March .....NO MORE....Bunch of Dicks

usually wait a day or so and the retentions team call - did in my case. You may need to push quite hard though. Wouldn't stay with vf if I had a choice

Had poor data signal with Vodafone, with very patchy 3G coverage and (from their website) no 4G coverage where I am. After renewing with a £10/month discount 2 years ago and seeing very little improvement have just changed to EE and coverage is so much better. Slightly more per month than I was paying with Vodafone after discount but glad to have moved.

Corp discount will be rejected when upgraded through retentions, as it isn't to be used in conjunction with any other discounts, as stated in the terms and conditions.

The retention deal shows as a discount on the bill.

I used to work for Vodafone, the 20% discount doesn't apply if there's any other discount on your account. So depending on how they did your deal would depend on whether the discount would apply; whether they put you on a lower tariff band or if they put you on the normal one and put a recurring discount on there

Yep this is true, I got declined with discount too.

I been with Vodafone many years should of left to years ago , my own fault I know but think there the worse network In the country, if they spend money on better network Instead of advertising F1 and adverts power to you Crap would be better ....O2 for me come may , thank god decent network ...

Left these amateurs 3+ years ago and never looked back. Wouldn't ever entertain going back to them in a million years!

The Vodafone retention and vea offer is this.
They will give you a standard plan (which then is eligible for vea discount) but at a lower rate for the phone you get.
I got this, and negotiated it 4 months before contract ends date.
Even better, the contract wasn't merely extended it started from that 4 month early date, shaving 4 months off my previous contract.
IF you apply for vea early enough you will get it approved (or not) within the 14 day cool off allowing you to call it all off if it isn't as expected.

vodafone offered me 22.50 for S5 for 24 months last year but i declined.

Worth calling again they offered me unlimited min, unlimited text and 500 mb data for £10.50. I think it depends on who you get on other end . he told me that his manager has let me offer this deal.

I m paying 7.50 after cash back which is going To end soon

When quidco offers gooc cash back to new customer the best this to do is order that deal later you can port your old number to the new number once your new number comes through. Thats hoe i use to do. But after porting make sure the other number is disconnected or gone to pay as you go. Dont want to get charged twice.

laughable, thus change I could do myself in 15 seconds so 24 hours us the max it should be
