Benefiting from another offer about the Huawei P20 from Vodafone I called Vodafone once again today just to negotiate the price of upgrading my sim only plan of 20gb of monthly data for £20 per month.

I ended up getting Huawei P20 in black (Vodafone doesn't have stock on blue) for £24.60 and this includes the following:
HUAWEI P20 with no upfront costs
32GB of data plan
Unlimited Calls and Texts
24 months of Spotify Premium
No delivery charge of £4.99

This is 24 months contract and over the whole term it work out at £590.40. Sure that's a miles better deal if you're using a lot of data than the other deal.

On the phone the lovely lady I was speaking with said that overall she applied a 40% discount for the plan to make it at that price.

Wow, very nice deal.
Unlikely to be a deal anyone else will get, but well done.

Anyone that's a customer with Vodafone should be able to negotiate the same offer. I could also get the same offer on my other p20 I just received today but it would involve a hassle of returning the phone and then taking new one out and paying extra 4,60. She said she could do the 16gb package for 24,40 or 32gb without Spotify for 24,50.not much so I took it all out
Heat for a great deal am on the 20gb sim only entertainment plan just now but could do with an upgrade from my oneplus x. How long left did you have left on your sin only

My sim only was overdue upgrade just now. I am using Oneplus 5 which I'm likely to sell now since I really like the design and using of the P20 my partner got. And I was on the same entertainment plan with 20gb data.
My 16GB 12 month Voda contract up soon, Carphone keep bugging me to upgrade. Happy with my Pixel 2 but I'll see what they offer me

Thanks I have a few months left of my 12month sim. But it is eligible for upgrade so might give it a go
Thats a really good deal. I thought I was doing well getting the P20 free 4gb data , Unlimited texts and calls for £24.50 per month. No Spotify. Just called Vodaphone and they said there was no way they could do your deal so very well done indeed.

I was until the weekend on the same sim only deal. I had 3 months left. I ended up with the red iPhone 8 (64gb) - £42 a month for 24 months 4gb data unlimited talk and texts. I actually got 2 as my wife was due a new phone, although she opted for th gold iPhone 8. I’m thinking of calling the returns team - see if they can improve the package, perhaps throw in a Spotify.
I was cancelling a talk mobile sim only contract for my mum and the guy who answered told me talk mobile is part of vodafone now and he offered me a p20 lite with 16gb data on a 24 month contract for £30 a month. i said i only wanted to pay a maximum of £25 month and i wanted a s9 or I wouldn't mind the standard p20 for £25. The guy turns around & tells me the standard s9 will cost me 68 pounds a month and that the p20 lite is a better phone than the p20 as the lite has a bigger screen and its just as fast. So I say I'm not interested in that and he tells me it's a once in a life time deal bla bla and i tell him I would like to proceed with my calculation so i cancelled but like any tips on how to get crazy good retention deals next time my contract ends?

As an ex vodafone employee, you should get at least 20% off when you haggle. Easiest way is to call when you are due an upgraded. Tell the adviser "my partner is with O2 be they will be me a 30% discount if he adds another handset onto his plan. It's called a household discount or something". They will match it or beat it. To get more of a discount, immediately ask for your pac code, they will issue you with one. Tell them the price is too much compared to others, you will get a call back within the week. If not, call them after a week and say you lost your pac code and they usually offer 40%.

Wow, good insider info, this is why I love this site! I always haggle, but it's good to have another bit of ammunition if they won't budge.

If I could vote information hot, I would.

I said I'm rather interested in staying sub 25 per month or or I will stay with my current plan and I was going to go for 16gb of data but she said you know what I might have a better deal for you. How about a 32gb plan for 24,50 per month rather than 16gb for 24,40? Well obviously yeah sure since it's 10 pence difference. But then she goes on and says. Looking at your account you had an entertainment package. Did you buy any chance use it? I responded that I did use Spotify but it was just a one year subscription and I had 18 months contract so when it ran out I didn't want to pay the extra 10 for it per month. Sure she said, in that case I can also make you a deal including Spotify and 32gb data plan for 24,60 per month, how does that sound? I was happy with how it went and what I've got for so little difference that I only asked if they can do the blue one instead of black as my partner got black one so at least they would be different in one way. Unfortunately according to her Vodafone doesn't stock or ran out of stock of the blue colored so I went with the black one again instead, just ordered different colour phone case. Oh and by the way Huawei includes a clear silicon case along with the phone.if you also carefully peel off the "pull" sticker off the plastic film on the screen that can have a purpose of screen protector temporarily until you get either tempered glass or casual screen protector.
You sure it wasn't the 16gb red entertainment pack with the P20 as that's for £24.60 with 40% discount ?
I managed to get the 32gb Red entertainment pack with P20 24mnths for £28.20 with 40% discount.

Even at £28.20 that's a good deal for that amount of data entertainment pack and the p20

33733335-KIvAL.jpgIts definitely the P20
3 different rententions people have told me today they can't discount more than 30% on handset price plans so I don't know how your getting this
Tried this no luck
is this only for existing customers or for new as well??
I tried and tried and absolutely couldn't get this deal at all, under any circumstances.

In the end I got a P20 Pro for £683 over 24 months on a 9gb data + unlimited plan. £22.50 per month and £143 up front (which I'm fine with).

Coming from my current sim only deal of 5gb + unlimited for £13.50 per month (not the best, I know) this means I'm getting almost twice the data plus a brand spanking new top of the line phone for £359 over 24 months (£143 + £9 per month).

It's not a bad deal by any means.

I was told that i am a high paying customer for some reason and hence why I was given such a high diacount. Well i did have couple of high bills for exceeding my data limit but I would call myself a high paying customer. Im cheap to f***k
I did the same yesterday.

Ended up getting a P20 Pro.

Ultd mins/texts + 9gb data.

£29 up front. £35 a month.

Not bad considering I was paying £25 for sim only plan and John Lewis have the phone up for £799.
I got a P20 with 32+ extra 5gb and 24 months entertainment package for £32 a month early today.

I read this thread and phoned retentions back but I couldn’t get them to budge from £32 a month.
