Vodafone retention deal - Huawei P20 Pro - 8gb data, Unlimited calls & texts with red entertainment pack (Spotify etc.)- £32 up front & £32.90/month x 24 month deal

Best deal on this new phone I could get by a country mile. Was also offered 16gb data without the entertainment pack for exactly the same price.

I was going to get Spotify Premium anyway, so for me this deal is £23.90/month for everythng I need.

You also get the Bose headphones that are worth £330 (>£200 on eBay) so you could comfortably argue the cost is actually c£600 for a new phone and the contract

Tbh, i still think Google pixel 2 and iphone x/8 has better camera. …Tbh, i still think Google pixel 2 and iphone x/8 has better camera. Watched the videos on youtube and doesn't seem good..

Got to disagree with this. There are a hell of a lot of very impressed reviewers out there, all caveating that it’s early days still on both the hardware and software front. Early signs are that this has the best camera out there on a number of fronts.

For me, this deal was too good to ignore anywa. A solid £300 less than the S9 I wanted originally.

This is an incredible deal, the camera is really good on that phone. And I’m a self proclaimed apple fanboy for 7 years - as i type this on my iphone 8
Retention deal. One in a million can get it.

That doesn’t stop it being a deal.... Every item on sale has finite availability so technically you could argue one has similar odds of getting that...

Advanced partial differential - every retention node is governed by a supremum and an infimum. I agree you can get a deal between those constraints
Well done, beat my retention deal. Same plan, same phone, but £39 per month with no upfront cost.
No optical image stabilization when filming higher than 1080p video was the one thing that kinda put me off getting this.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess?
Was this through chat or phone?
I'm surprised this is cold. Heat from me

Was this through chat or phone?

Phone - Was through the number that calls you after you get your PAC code. It’s a 30% discount off their advertised tariff

Hmm, I really fancy this, Will have a go at 8am!
I just got the 8gb simo from Vodafone for 14 GBP a month for 12 month with 1st month free, this is a far more superb deal compared to mine. Heat from me. One can probably apply 15% employee advantage discount on top of this as well!
Thanks for posting the best I could get a few days ago was £40 a month for the 16GB and no entertainment pack. I do use Spotify so may just push for the offer you got instead.
Excellent deal.

I just signed up for the same package over chat, but with an upfront cost of £42 rather than £32, so please amend title but definitely live albeit £10 more expensive.

30% seems to be Vodafone's maximum nowadays. It used to be 40%. We've seen the same 25% cut in the employee scheme as well from 20% to 15%.You won't be able to combine this deal with the emoyee advantage scheme.

For me Vodafone have been an absolute nightmare on renewal prices...they have a very poor choice of handsets and keep their high up front charges for handsets right up to the moment that the replacement. Comes out (is the S8 and the S9)

Note that Spotify through Vodafone cannot be changed so you can't take advantage of the student tariff if you become a student or move your account to the family (5 account version) whilst tied to your Vodafone contract.
I just got this deal offered on vodafone chat with relatively little bargaining. Awesome deal. Was also offered the 32 GB contract for £37.10 with no upfront, decided to go for that.
this is amazing, just got the same deal on the phone to retentions however 50 upfront
either way its incredible especially on the pro as I was looking at around the same price on the regular p20
free headphones too, mad

ps: went for the 16gb data instead without the entertainment bits - purely because dont need it and potentially moving into a new build that might not have internet in place initially so will need the data!

I got exactly the same. I think it's a fantastic deal and surprised that it's going cold.
Managed to haggle the 32GB Red Entertainment Package, no up front cost for £37.10 a month, but this is still a good deal.
Are you going through retentions to get these deals?
yes retentions
i called vodafone and clicked option for looking to leave
initially were giving me the same deals as the crappy ones to new customers but then I said im going to wait it out and look elsewhere so they transferred me over to another team and applied the 30% discount

what code are we supposed to use for claiming the headphones?

on the shop site it says this:

Pre-order the Huawei P20 before 6 April 2018 and receive Bose QuietComfort 35 wireless headphones II (in black) absolutely free (worth £329.95). Simply add the code you’ll receive in your basket when you pre-order, at: huaweipromo.co.uk/p20…ose (between 20 April and 19 May 2018). Offer ends 19 May 2018. Terms apply

but if ordering through the phone theres no basket so what would the code be? Ive only been sent confirmation emails with the reference numbers starting with EDM so far

You can't claim for the headphones until 20th April due to the 14 day cancellation/cooling period that presumably all sellers provide. See below link for more details about how to claim the headphones from 20th April onwards

I was initially with retentions when I asked for my PAC code, but the team I got this deal through seemed to be the next level with bigger discounts available. Always worth asking for your PAC code anyway to take you seriously.

You can call them direct on 01709918614
Why do cold? I think it's a pretty good deal!
All the people saying they called retentions for this deal - are you all out of contract (if so, why haven't you already resigned elsewhere?!).

If not, how much left did you have? I've got about 8 months left so I'm not sure if they will take me seriously as I would face a huge fee if I did leave. Just curious if they will offer me anything better than the ridiculous prices on the mobile app (£55 per month etc)
I ended up with £37.10. 16gb data, nothing upfront. I tried to get your deal but they weren't budging, he couldn't get it through anyway he tried.

Lol, should I have resigned elsewhere? Honestly thought I wouldn't find anything better. My contract is up in June and they offered me an early upgrade. Personally, I don't think you'll have much luck as you have so much time remaining on your contract.

Yeah that's my concern too, but my earlier comment "why are you still with them while out of contract" was in relation to my confusion about people potentially being out of contract and still paying £30+ a month mostly for hardware they have already paid off. If people are just resigning at the end of their contract then that makes much more sense.
After a while on the online chat I was offered 32gb, Spotify and nothing upfront for £41. 20

And £37.10 for 16gb without the Spotify etc.

My contract is up in 15 days as well.

And get your PAC code and start that ball rolling as soon as you are able. That way you force their hand to make a better offer.

Doing so does nothing other than make it look like you're serious. Nothing happens unless you pass ot on to your new provider and it is valid for 30 days
You can tether with this contract? Thinking of using it in mifi

unfortunately not. after reading others posts, I am not overly happy with my deal. So I tried cancelling, they said you are better negotiating / cancelling once you receive the phone. So I am going to threaten to cancel tomorrow once the phone comes and try to knock them down on the price, I think the fact I have received the handset and they will lose money might make them give me a better contract. maybe not?!

I will update.
