Might seem like a good deal however I made the error of not checking my area for coverage! Absolute nightmare, had to terminate contract early because of rubbish signal...
I got this deal a month ago, be aware they messed up the porting of my old number and took 3 weeks to resolve it. I had to deal with tech support for a total of around 9-10 hours throughout this period.

I've also been through that with Vodafone, absolute nightmare and nearly lost my number I've had for 20 years. This shouldn't be a problem these days but they still managed to ***k it up.

Sorry to hear, but I feel better not being the only one now , what a nightmare it was.
I'm already with Vodafone but due to expire shortly, can i port my number or do I have to go via an interim non Voda sim?

Go via an interim sim. Vodafone customer services will claim it doesn’t work but I did the following in the same situation as you:
Order giffgaff sim (use whoever you want, gg was easy but cost £5, could insert first pac online and then request second pac also online once number confirmed with gg)
Get pac code from Vodafone
Order new Vodafone contract
Port number to giffgaff or whoever
Get pac from gg once transferred across
Active new Vodafone contract and input gg pac.
First month you’ll get stung for a big bill as Vodafone will charge you for both contracts, however I got an auto refund on old contract pro rata in next month so all cancelled out.
Just got 8gb for £6 from Sky and day after received a 5gb boost into Sky data Piggybank. Nearly forgot......also came with free 10.1 Samsung Tablet for extending Sky contract. So cold from me.

Tx - it's as I assumed, although I wonder if there's an interim PAYG sim that you don't have to waste a minimum amount just to port a number in.
Also why do you get a "big bill" - surely you should be charged per month, not double, if that's what you mean?

You may be able to do it for less that £5 but it was convenient and easy and £5 saved me loads of time on the phone...

I think the big bill was because I was 2 days into the next month of my old contract before my number got transferred out to gg but that got refunded by way of a discount on my next months bill.
