Before voting cold because of the low data allowance - this info may help someone already with Vodafone, like me who only needs a SIM for occasional low usage. After long discussion with Vodafone via 'Chat' to renew (or leave), ended up with deal for £46.50 for the year on the essentials £9.50/month package - includes 250 mins calling, unlimited texts and normally 250MB data. Vodafone offered 1st 2 months free, +2GB data per month and £30 credit onto account - plus applied Vodafone advantage discount 30% as have relative in NHS (but would also be available for loads of other companies and public services - so most people would know someone who can get this for them) - costs £10. So the nett of all that is £6.65 for 10 months + £10 for VA discount, and - £30 credit applied to account. (Threat was to leave to BT as existing broadband customer £5 per month for 500G and 400mins). If all you need is a mobile for occasional use (texts, emergency calls and the odd photo or so) then under £4 a month surely has to be a bargain - especially as where we live (rural) Vodafone is the only network with reliable indoor coverage and 4G data too (not that this phone will use much data).

Maybe not - but knowing where Vodafone can (and will) move could be helpful for some people.

Probably as well I didn't mention the SIM is in an old iPhone then ;-). Can't help but wonder if all those voting cold already, have seen a better deal elsewhere - in which case please share, as I have 30 days get out clause, and the offers given aren't really unique - you just need to to hold out for a good deal (I was offered 2 or 3 "best deals" during the conversation with Vodafone before getting this one). If it's useful for one other person somewhere then worth posting - not doing this for heat, just contributing a little bit back into the community I have taken so much from over the years.

I got 8gb , unlimited minutes and texts for £5.50

I have been with them for 10 years have 4 pay monthly Sims and can't seem to get a better deal will be going to Bt I think

People don't read deals properly on here. They just look at the headline price / specific words and vote hot or cold. Usually cold on deals that require a more thorough read-through.

Or if you're in the clique that scratches each other back on each others deals.

If you've helped one person though then that's cool

Heat added for using the site in the spirit it's meant.

Seems a good deal to me. Heat!

year before last year my contract expired, I got 33% off the £17 package 5gb, was on double data offer aswell 10gb in total , down to about £13 per month which was a pretty good deal late 2015, this past time I got reduced it to 4gb as was only using 3gb data, they offered me 4gb for £10.50 a month and they will credit 6 months free.. £5.25 a month on avg.. took afew "chats...." to get the deal though.. ran into some right ones who offered nothing.. I'll cancel your account.

not as good as the tall talk I did for the Mrs in 2016, £5.50 a month for 2gb.. and £60 cash back via topcashback.. £6 for the whole year

Unless someone can correct me, After speaking to retentions today the extra 2GB is no longer an option which in my opinion makes this no longer a great option.
