wow, really!? you mean its not a moto g killer for £20?

The Huawei Y330 looks to be similarly appointed and priced, if you can still find one in Asda.

But if it doesn't function well as a phone, then it's just £20 wasted, surely?

lol at people bashing this phone, just look at the specs they are more or less decent if you just want to browse some internet/make some calls etc. you really dont need anything much more than that if you are fine with it being a bit slower than other phones which costs 500quid

Shame it's on Vodafone. Worst, most over-priced network out there IMHO.

Seen in Parkhead Forge Glasgow.

looks a cracking wee phone for the money ! and yes in my current experience I am having a nightmare trying to get a Sony z2 unlocked which is on the Vodaphone network , they seem to be the most complex network out there , I tried phoning their customer services and I think they will do absolute anything to avoid having a human chat !!!!glad I'm with Virgin Mobile .

i had that phone for £35, its ok for whats app and skype user... heat added

I bought this phone at £30 recently to have as a cheap work phone.

For the money it's pretty good value, and initialy you think it's amazing value. But there are 2 big issues with it.

1. It's made by Alcatel, and my network provider doesn't have the correct settings for it. As a result it thinks it's roaming all the time, and won't email or go on the net without WiFi, as it thinks it's abroad. Nothing seems to be able correct it.

Also, the keyboard is incredibly difficult to use, generating lots of mistakes no matter how accurate you seemingly are. Thus texting can be very frustrating.

Battery life is reasonablely ok, screen ok, but it's not much use if it's almost unusable due to compatibility issues.

It doesn't seem to have front camera, so can only use skype voice chat and no video chat

At this price you occult use it as a mifi hotspot. Cheaper than the £25 deal on here recently.

Same problem, but just turn roaming on in settings and no problems

Which network are you using with? Do you mean it shows as 'Roaming' even while within the UK?

using this phone unlocked on 02 great phone for the money rooted easy too latest Facebook version works smooth and plays high quality video no problems ...had to change apn settings to get mobile Internet working though... but when set up correctly can't fault it now going to buy another as a spare

Which means it's affected by the webview vulnerability which blights every pre-4.4 Android device. So neither the default internet browser nor any app that uses webview for internet access is safe to use.Not voting one way or the other, because on the one hand the price is very good, and on the other the potential cost is very high.

Not really much of an issue especially for an emergency phone. Honestly these vulnerabilities get so over hyped, yes patch it if you can but it's hardly a phone killer.

As to another user with problem with the keyboard, install a different one?

Completely agree if it's only an emergency phone, just for calls and texts. Though, why go Android if that's all you want? However, if it's a grandparent's first smart phone and they start using banking and bingo apps, and buying from Amazon....

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. A superb phone. Absolute bargain at that price.

My local Asda seem to be clearing a lot of mobiles. They had a run on EE locked phones a few months ago and now it seems to be Vodafone ones going cheap.
They haven't replaced with newer models and each time I visit there seems to be less choice. Maybe my store is moving away from mobiles other than those on Asda network.
Xperia E3 on Vodafone for £55 also in my local.

Bought this phone this morning, unlocked by 1 o'clock (unlock code 99p eBay), stuck in three sim, didn't have to change any settings and the OS version is 4.4.2 even though box says jellybean (maybe someone else can confirm)

Using it as a temp phone while mine is getting repaired.

There is no denying it is slower compared to latest phones but as a casual user or as a temp phone, cant really fault it.

EE. Shows as roaming on phone (small R symbol), but checked with EE and they said there would definitely be no charge for using in UK. No roaming charges showing on my bill.

The mobile internet works if you turn on roaming

Seems to be just a settings issue, EE couldn't fix it, but said it's no problem and no additional charges

I did unlock with an ebay code, so don't know if that's an issue

Either way, fully working and no charges

PS - remember this is £20

Screen good size, responsive, fair size RAM and internal memory if you don't have hundreds of apps or games, very lightweight

Screen hard to see if not direct angle, but fine, plastic screen easily scratched if in pocket with keys but other hand hard to smash if drop

Does yours shows 'R' (roaming) symbol when used with 3 sim?

Pretty sure you can make & receive calls on it. A well functioning phone.

Smart phone, though.

Can't moan for £20 + 99p for unlocking. Will do me until my much cheapness Iocean Rock arrives..

Is this store specific? I visited two Asda nearby, but the price was £40.

I noticed that asda living @ Peterborough (brotherhood retail park) had loads of those behind the counter @ £20 if people are still looking
