VodaBones 5G future signal, coverage map, is very similar to poking a pin, into a map of the world, blindfolded, whilst sitting on an office chair, spinning around and hoping to stick it in the Isle of Wight.. eg: not much chance of one!

Great price and ping is much better than on their 4G tat

Too much gibberish
still 4G on Vodafone is better than sh@t network 3!
Does anyone had any issues with Fonehouse?
giffgaff is much better. Check their offers.

Giffnaff is run by O2 had terrible experience, no internet access in airport but a proper 4G signal! The O2 never was good network for interntet only for phone calls!

I have to disagree I regularly achieve 100mbps on O2 speedtests and don't have a issue with coverage.
But I will say i'm likely not near you but no network is perfect.

I took this out last week, the speed in my house is bollox.
I also have a unlimited everything max Vodafone sim in my phone and I was in Scotland last week, max speed I got was 48mbps. I was in Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh. I wish I had stayed with EE.

Depends... from area maybe? I’m with EE, my wife with giffgaff - at home giffgaff 40mbps, EE 22mbps. EE is definitely better in overall but price...

I have two contracts with fonehouse
The cashback is on time without any issues and their customer service is tip top!
Took this contract out about a month ago and so far so good!
Coming from t-mobile (EE) and based here in Glasgow the coverage is present where EE had none and speeds have been good. Have got as high as 260mbps download speed. Regularly achieve ~100mbps download speeds.

All networks don’t invest well in Scotland it’s a known fact, unless your EE that is going to the Scots Gov hands out saying your parent are domestically abusing you and can you please have some like BT in England got from Westminster.

BT aka EE has done well out coverage with Three that Scots gov paid for that then merged with T-Mobile to create MBNL then a merger that added Orange base stations in. Before that o2 and Voda were miles ahead in Scotland as the original 2 networks, they ain’t bad either but they ain’t getting billions upon billions from govs either...

48 megs can run 4K and some more... speed isn’t the be all and end all on a mobile, it is on a broadband replacement that many people connect to via Wi-fi.
slaha1124/08/2019 22:56

Pity about the return train fare to get there to Liverpool being almost a years Voda contract lol privatisation didn’t work for BT/EE or the trains.

Isn’t Guff Puff limited data ?

Yup! Best spending £7 more on Vodafone Unlimited at £32/30 days given o2 & Voda share the majority of base stations.

Or

Smarty - Threes sister £18.75 30 days Unlimited for the next few days

Giff Gaff really isn’t a great deal with 40GB then slowed down in comparison to Three/Voda

Unlucky. I actually switched to this from Smarty for my 4G router because the speeds are great in Glasgow (at least where I am!)

Voda, retailer is just a introduction commission outlet, the days of Voda and o2 forced to Wholesale are over and the many smaller and larger companies with wholesale rights have been bought up and merged into both.

Glasgow 5G will have given 4G a boost
seaniboy25/08/2019 13:35

That 4/5G

It is 4G+ according to my Honor10 phone.Charing cross vicinity.
@rp1974 the upgraded fibre to the base station in the city for 5G will have given spare capacity to 4G customers, 4G+ can get upto 1GBPS if the telco do it right, this late in the game they won’t - just invest in 5G, 4G+ will benefit as 5G specs and speeds improve over the years and the 4G+ upgrades become cheaper - for fall back from 5G.

That’s a great result, I wonder what speeds my i7 would get on my Voda Unlimited sim
Edited by: "seaniboy" 25th Aug
Could I get this sim, buy a 4g router and use it for my home broadband? How would it perform with online gaming? Any dropouts or lag?
My current download is 14mbps and I was told the max for my area is 17mbps (I KNOW). Would this setup improve my online gaming speeds and support a couple of laptops or phones running at the same time? Thanks:)

Vodafone and 3 never slow down as right now on Vodafone and managing to use 500-600GB per month on the unlimited SIM and speed is always the same 30-50Mbps at home, in London faster.

Thanks, can you recommend a good 4g router.
If my area can only achieve a max of 17mbps through a cable......then this 4g connection will probably be much better? Right? I’m about 40 miles away from Manchester(embarrassed)
This cashback is paid by Fonehouse and is easily claimable by instalments in month 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12 of your airtime agreement. Full details of how to claim will be sent with your order.

Any one got any ideas how this repayments thing works also?:D

If it’s not any good try a 4x4 mino router or a external antenna with B525 2x2 antenna connectors
