Incase anyone isn’t aware, the 2020 Mark 8 Golf has just been realised. This is a good deal for the previous Mark 7.5 model

Not voted either way as I know some prefer the VW badge but I got my Leon FR 1.5 Evo for £200/month all in. Also the Octavia vRS has been posted a couple of times recently for a similar price, that has a lot more pace plus additional space.

Agreed - better value elsewhere.
Not quite as good as xceed deal but it's a faster car and a golf. Decisions decisions.
Does this type of deal go against credit rating and/or amount of credit?

Basically - wanted to borrow a mortgage. Does this get picked up as a financial commitment if you do not disclose?

Of course it does. That monthly amount will be taken off your "affordability" for a mortgage as it is a finance agreement.

Yes this will get picked up but PCH deal will only show the total value of the lease deal whereas a PCP deal would show the full value of the car.
This isn't a great deal. No DSG, lower powered 1.5t (130bhp not 150bhp) and a modest but okay-ish spec.

Definitely better value elsewhere.

Love that I'm in a 10 year mortgage so I don't have to worry about all that affordability stuff and being careful with how lines of credit may look.

Nice! I thought 10 years was plenty for me. I'll have 11 years left after of my 25 years.
Hopefully there won't be 10%+ when I remortgage!

I agree, better value with the skoda or seat variants. A golf is just so bland
Aren’t there known issues with 1.5 EVO engines?

There were over a year ago but the 1.5 EVO is now the standard engine across numerous models across VAG. My other Leon has the slightly older 1.4 but 150 variant & it is so much more potent than the 1.5 EVO. Blame WLTP partly. It took a few months to adjust to always needing to be in 1st gear when moving away & also the power coming on late in the curve.
