Personal lease:
£1,800.00
24 x £225.10 5K miles - £5402.40, so total £7202.40
24x 266.12 for 10K miles - £6386.88, so total £8136.88

pretty good deal for a £31K car

Business lease is a bit less, esp with those that can claim vat back

"Please note that in order to meet the lenders criteria all customers must either receive a car allowance, be able to re-claim business mileage or be a Director of a limited company, proof is required at point of application"
- J400uk

Figures quoted are incorrect. It is deposit plus 23 months at mileage applicable rate, so:

£1800 initial lease payment
£180 Admin fee
23x £225.10 ( or 23x £226.12)

Total 2 year cost = £7,157.30 ( or £8,100.76 for 10k)

Just if my insurance wasn't so expensive

Can we start a topic on business tips for begginers ....such as this VAT option. Think people can find it useful

Banned

It's about getting the VAT off because you're in business

Could you also technically claim mileage expenses to as well as VAT. Sorry I know this is detracting from the original post

£180.00 Admin fee (plus vat I would imagine)
Would be interesting to know what the excess mileage charge is?

Nice motor. Good deal.

Maximum 50% of the VAT is reclaimable (unless you plan on using it as a taxi or driving school), so bear that in mind.

That's a good price. HOT HOT HOT

Excellent deal. I'm usually pretty good at beating these, but I couldn't get near this one.

that's a pretty amazing deal whether it is business or personal. 5k mileage at that price but can be increased for a reasonable price. It does state that PCH conditions apply, probably needs checking. initial deposit is also very good!

What's the excess mileage cost?

Does it really matter mike1212?
Nope, didn't think so.

No as vat would be for business
if you're claiming mileage then you do that on a personal car.

What works best for you may not work best for me.
speak to your accountant to crunch some figures.

Of course it matters If you do over the 10k limit (2 years) you don't want to end up having to pay a huge amount at the end, some of these policies can have 26p per extra mile charges.

not a bad price if you consider that if you had bought it for 31k, as soon as you drive it out of the garage it will lose 20% in value (£6200) so the £8200 spend over 2 years is really the depreciation plus you get 2 year warranty so no worries about it breaking plus you can give the car back and have no debt!!

A lot of people seem to be leasing nowadays. Do you actually save money, as the car is never yours until you pay a large amount at the end? I want a new car and leasing seems to be a gd way of getting a new car instead of driving an old banger thats problematic!
Does anyone know of any good deals for a family car? i.e focus, picasso? Thanks if anyone can help!

My partner is thinking of getting a Golf GTD through the NHS lease scheme, just wondered if any of you guys have it or have heard of it, works out at around £300 a month for 2 year, be great to hear your views?

Just be careful that the personal deals aren't mis-proposed sole trader deals that have recently been featured on Radio 4.
At this price I think they will be.

Amazing deal

Hi amy, I would advise either vehiclesavers.com or centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk and have a look in their special offers sections.

With a lease you never have a final payment unless you wish to keep the car, but the price they offer is always far too high at the end, you're much better just starting a new lease and getting another brand new car

Does anyone know the lead times on these at all? The last one on here was October and that was if we ordered last month!

Just had it confirmed - October Boooooooooooooo!

Ordered mine a little over a month ago and it should be early October for me, I would expect early November if ordering now as other people have had delays

So this is just for two years?

The old VAT myth, you do not lose 20% as you drive it out of the garage. All new cars must have VAT charged on them, it doesn't mean they instantly lose that amount. The market dictates what a car will sell for second hand, not the VAT man.

Im considering leasing for the first time - just want a small car for use in town only that is cheap to lease and cheap to run. Any suggestions? Also is Lings cars any good?

Unlikely you're going to beat that deal then

So the total cost of the NHS deal is £7,200.
The total cost of this contract is £7,249.71 (6+23) with no insurance, so the NHS deal is marginally better (depending on mileage allowance).

Lings cars are expensive. Have a look at the new Citroen C1 £45 a month £999 deposit. Can't think of anything cheaper at the minute.

I lease from NHS is a good deal as no initial payment all insurance for named drivers included all tyres breakdown and servicing included too etc, the only thing you also need to consider is that your tax code does also change considerably as lease car is classed by taxman as a company car even though you are paying for it

Cheers, mileage allowance is 10,000 and there are also tax benefits, plus the GTD has better fuel economy, would prefer the 'R' model obviously but the GTD will do at least 50mpg 60+ on a run.

Oh right, I thought it would change in your favour? Yes the insurance is great as I will be insured to drive it, and I intend too!

What's the excess mileage cost?

Also consider additional wear and tear charges on a vehicle with higher mileage if it is not part of the contract.

Excess mileage charge covers mileage only.

The wear and tear on a 10k mile car will be less than that on a 20k mile car.
