I agree, there is also the fact that my data in the cloud is maintained by a Chinese company. My preference is definitely my Synology server at home which then backs up in a cloud of my choice.

This is why I now avoid most Chinese brands as most have moved to cloud based setup with the only way of being able to access the camera through a specific app. Their was a time when most cameras came at least with RTSP and often ONVIF protocol built in. Currently use Foscam ip cameras as they continue to come with ONVIF support.

ONVIF is not supported what narrows down the way some people would like to use it. I have the YI Dome wich is good quality but does not support ONVIF so wouldn’t buy again to be honest.

Come on guys let's get this deal to 1000° (cheeky)

I have the previous model to this and like the guy above says would prefer onvif support, problem with this cam is you are locked into the proprietary app, which in my experience drops from network, I am about to replace my yi with a reolink cam for a few extra quid, voted hot for the price if your using it for occasional dog or baby monitor

Haven’t tested the camera yet outdoors but the few indoor photos I took were good quality. I’m not as critical as most but I was happy with them.

what's the camera like?

Mine finally arrived. Nice phone but I hadn’t realised it would be so heavy!

I don't think it has been released yet. I bought it but then asked for refund as might end up being near end of December if other selling sites are anything to go by.

How was it - just about to buy but still hesatiting haha

Still available at this price for the next 22 days! :)

If you are willing to do a little bit of reading before you begin the process, it really isn't difficult, but if drivers, and the odd typing of a command are not something you can age to, it's not your bag. But really it's an enjoyable learning process if you open your mind to it.

I don't recommend it if you not confident with flashing ROMs. Only Indian & Chinese official ROMs get updates ... which you need to flash by yourself or get some mate to do it for you.

So in your opinion, if I'm not tech savvy, would you recommend getting this? Sounds like I'd have to mess around with it to get updates etc.

If you want to live life free of wall chargers and you don't mind a bigger screen P2, If you prefer a smaller screen ZUK 2

Has anyone gone for this? Or, has anyone bought from actual Volumerate before? I know they are part of the Deal Extreme family but Volumerate don't seem to have very good feedback from what I've seen that's all (such as sending faulty / used items, not refunding, ignoring messages). Price is tempting, but all the agro, I'm unsure.

I'm not sure the TCB will work here will it. That's with Deal Xtreme but when clicking through that, this phone is on Deal Xtreme but in US dollars when you checkout. It's only in Pounds when going via the VolumeRate, so not sure the Deal Xtreme will track will it?

Many thanks

yeah sorry wpj wrong post mine was from banggood never purchased from this supplier

The Volumerate site says that they use NL post for the UK and, in my experience, it is about a week.

https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty well if it's under £135, there's no custom tax. Yes VAT is added on anything above £15 @20%.

From the last time I checked, any goods over £17.99 imported into the UK from outside the EUEA (European Economic Area) is due import duties. The Royal Mail slaps on an £8 handling change and then there is VAT to be added. Yes I got caught with a £21 item bought from the USA.

Where did you get that info from? I thought it was £15 for import tax. I certainly got charged on goods from the USA which were about £20. Maybe it changed recently.

no customs on anything below £135 UK

DX have been fine for me during the 5ish years I have been using them. I've no reason to doubt this subsidiary will be significantly different. I have yet to pay any fees for Chinese imports (using the free/slow delivery helps).
