Covers their back I guess. If your TV falls off the wall and it's larger than what they support you won't have much to stand on, apart from the TV.

Does anyone have any experience with putting a mount up on a plywood wall? Bought a new build recently never really thought of this...
You will need these to put these gripitfixings.co.uk to mount tv on plywood or plasterboard.

Depends on the thickness but I'm sure a ply wood wall would be provide ample support with just wood screws as opposed to plasterboard
What exactly restricts the size of the screen on a TV mount like this? Surely its just weight limits?

I've had my builders mount plywood boards in behind the plasterboard where my TV will go to ensure a decent fix - could I still use the Gripit fixers for that?

I wish I'd thought of that when we had our building work done.

I'm mounting a 65/75" TV (not decided yet) on a bloody dot & dab wall and the mount is going right where the cables run up the wall. Luckily I have pictures of the wiring!!

Assuming they used 18mm ply you should be OK going straight through into that. The rest of my house is timber frame and the TV brackets are into the studs, or the noggins I added whilst doing them.

Be careful when using the von haus wall mount with gripit as I remember the grip it screw/bolts were to large for the holes to secure it. Had to get another wall mount which allowed the bolt size grip it supplied!
Would this be OK for drywall/plaster board

I’ve a similar dilemma on the tv front - 65” LG CX or a 75” Samsung Q80T QLED.. first world problems eh

Only if you can get into 2 or 3 studs.

I couldn’t on our small bedroom tv so removed some of the plaster board and spliced some stud timber into 2 studs. Plasterboard piece back in, bit of filler and you’re good to go.

You could use ply as well.

I know 65 will eventually look too small but the 75 OLED are in another league on costs, £4K min.

Costco Sony 75 at £1629 is looking good.
I ordered this and it was rubbish - the tilt nuts are impossible to get tight enough so the weight of my 55" TV kept causing it to tilt down. Ended up replacing it with something better

It always has been this price. Same for the 28-55 version

Put a single wood screw into a piece into plywood (reasonable size screw and plywood thickness) and try to pull it out....
You’ll soon see you have the ideal fixing situation in your house....

A bit worrying when that TV is only 25 kg and the bracket is rated at 75 kg
A grand saving of ......drum roll......£3!

Surely nobody is now rushing out to buy this because they are saving 3 quid?

People spending £1000’s on a TV but buying a bracket for £10 because it’s reduced by £3

An old 65-70+" plasma would have been over 50kg easily, plus cables, and maybe people stuff set top boxes behind them too. Like you say though, they're just tested to weight limits.
has this expired now? back to 12.99

I ended up using a Blaupunkt wall mount from B&M which is quite good quality. And yes I used the blue gripits.
