For most people possibly the worst way to heat a house / room
15 or 30p an hour to run so let's say on average you run 3 hours a night and about 17 p per hour, for November through march 20 weeks at 7 days at 50p a day that's £70 just in the evenings.

I think the idea of these type of fires though is more for decorative purposes and occasional use,

like a focal point when guests are visiting

Gas CH, night storage heaters

Virtually anything is cheaper than plain electric
It's meant to be a focal point in a fireplace that's all. I'm definitely considering one instead of the hassle, expense of a real log burner that needs a flue installed ect £££££ .
