OK not many people will know but Proctor & Gamble have sold the Vosene brand to The Lornamead Group......they have released Original Formula Vosene under the CRISAN brand.....it is the exact same formula as Vosene same bottle etc just a different label.

Home Bargains actually have the Crisan brand & Vosene brand on the shelves in Selby Home Bargains & you can compare the two.....ONLY THE NAME IS DIFFERENT

The Vosene bottles are priced at 99p for 250ml.....which is a very good price....but the Crisan bottles are currently 49p for 250ml

Grab a bargain while you can.....one chap in front of me bought 12 bottles

I don't but Selby is a beautiful part of Gods Own Country .....including it's stunning Abbey
Been put off buying shampoos or any personal products from Home Bargains, B&M, Poundland, 99p store after watching the latest Fake Britain episode, featured Head & Shoulders bought from these stores that turned out to be fake, instead of reducing dandruff this poor lady had a head full of blisters, after analysis found to be a completely different product to H&S. Buy cheap and take the risk I guess

It could happen, but its the response from these stores that is more worrying. Most did not want to know and just blamed suppliers

Even the big retailers like Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA etc have been caught in the past by counterfeit products.....it's not a problem limited to the discounters......lets not forget the horsemeat scandal either

Dumb comment.

It was a sad outcome for the woman but they bought the stock from reputable suppliers, and not from some bloke in a van on the corner.

Today's counterfeiters are very high tech and sophisticated to what they used to be. Copied goods are near enough identical to look at. Even the Royal Mint are changing the shape of the one pound coin due to counterfeit coins circulating

The affected stores did all they could by taking the stuff off the shelves and refunding customers in full

You can't expect them to have a lab checking everything that comes through.

It was not a dig at them for missing the products, but it was the response from the 99p store, they asked for the barcode on the product and then the lady heard no more until trading standards got involved, if they took they customers safety that serious they should of at least followed up the complaint rather than just hope it goes away.

I dont think that the stores I have mentioned would be as concerned about their reputation as the larger supermarkets, these discounters regardless of these isolated incidents will always attract a certain customer base, if they have an attitude like that it worries me, they removed the products because they had to by law.
I once bought a micro meal from waitrose, the following day I was sick as a dog, spoke with the store manager and he had me bring in the container, the meal was bagged and sealed and sent of for analysis after taking my full details, within a week I was contacted personally by a lovely lady who works in their customer relations team, see gave me a full breakdown of the analysis and even sent through the report, there was nothing found according to an independent lab, it even gave a breakdown of where the product came from, when it was produced, and then a week later a waitrose voucher just for the inconvenience.

Just saying...

I lived there for six months, even people from Selby realise it's a hell hole. Decimated by the closing of the pits unfortunately

Each to their own I guess ..... I live in a lovely quiet little village but would choose Selby to live if I had to choose over Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Doncaster, Bradford etc or ANYWHERE not in Yorkshire
