**Black model temp out of stock. White model still in stock: http://dx.com/p/vsun-i5-dual-core-android-4-0-wcdma-bar-phone-w-4-5-qhd-wi-fi-gps-and-hdmi-white-233972**

I was looking for a cheap android with an hdmi out when I came across this. Can't find any reviews anywhere online, plenty of photos but no reviews. Given its spec and price I've taken the plunge but thought I would share in case it appealed to anyone else.

**UPDATE: See comment #133 for a review of the phone.**

Suitable cases/covers available here: amazon.co.uk/gp/…sim
(This case is for a Samsung Galaxy S4 but as the camera, flash and speaker are in the same position, it fits fine. A slight adjustment to the locking catch is required to stop it hitting the on/off button but takes seconds to adjust)

aliexpress.com/ite…tml
(This case is specifically designed for the i5)

**Please note that moulded or gel cases for the Samsung S4 won't fit this phone as the dimensions are fractionally different and the buttons/inputs are in a different position**

Even as a £60 sat nav it's reasonable, so 2000mah battery, big decent res screen, with dual core cpu and dual sim capability, an 8mp camera a 1gb ram is pretty amazing.

£90 on ebay.

1 x Chinese manual

Looks like decent specs for the price, but I'd be a be worried about build quality at this low a price to be honest. It's perhaps a little too cheap for its own good.

Looks a bargain!

Looks really good considering price, but my mainly worry is a warranty:
"12 Months excluding physical damages... Hope that you will not drop it or break it

it'd probably cost you 60 quid to return it to HK

I wouldn't trust a Chinese brand even through it may seem a decent phone.

It's £60, that's less than meal out. It's good enough for a backup travel phone with the dual sim slots.

Huawei are a Chinese brand, and they make some proper quality stuff

Looks decent spec and value. Would have been nice to get some reviews of this though.

Looks good to me, my only concern is getting hammered with the import duty

chinese... crap. I dont trust any product. u hv experience.

Plus VAT and custom fees £80-£85 final price

Never trust any brand that has to copy in this way - what a name

seriously, some of these "cheap Chinese clone" phones are quality.
the GooPhone for example is a blatant iPhone copy, but that doesn't automatically mean that it's a heap of junk

Seem to be a lot of folk who don't know s*** about these things with 'opinions'
always dangerous

Great specs for the price, but you'll need to factor in 20% import vat, plus £8-£14 handling fee if it's caught by customs.

Those stats look really solid being that cheap I can't help but think there is a drawback somewhere perhaps with the build quality? If anyone on the site buys this do give us your first impressions please

I'll certainly report back and do a review once it arrives. There is a tutorial on how to root phones with the MTK6577 processor on XDA so I'll certainly be doing that if it is not already rooted.

That's odd - "i5 phone" makes me think of something else..

looks like a s2 doesnt it, gotta love the chinese for ripping off other peoples design

I hope its a good build quality and easy to root please report back on quality as I like the look of these

My concern with these would be the level of radiation exposure. I wonder if the Chinese are strict with SARS testing compliance as all phones from major manufacturers sold in UK EU markets have to be?

Only 4GB memory.

Lots of these Chinese phones have GPS problems, it's worth checking user reviews first where possible.

Someone asked the same question on the meri mobiles site and was told 0.44. (iphone 5 is 1.25)

majority of budget phones (Chinese or otherwise) only have 4gb built in

If I better reception and call quality, do I give one?

Nope.

Is there actually any definitive proof that any modern mobile phone emits enough radiation to be harmful? The guidlines in existence were created in the 1980's.

I bought a phone from Deal Extreme once and the supplied micro SD card was helpfully preinstalled with Windows malware. A few months later, the battery started physically expanding. I think I'll give this a miss!

Is that the HDMI port at the top?

Shame there isn't a quad core version with HDMI.

Its mean you don't know the process of assembled,Huawei and Lenovo are big names, you cannot compare with these stupid Chinese brand, even Chinese people are using mostly branded stuff as per my research, so buy it if you want but don't give stupid arguments

Almost bought one, but checked one of the images: it has only 512 mb of RAM! Not 1 GB!

I've bought 5 China phones and I've been lucky all work , this looks a nice spec for little money , if you like playing with rooting and custom ROMs ect then you can make a China phone in to a good phone, you will not get Google apps I stalled and looks like a lot of China apps are already installed , zte is a excellent brand and there phones are quality not far off Samsung quality, and the dual sim is excellent I can't do with a phone that does have dual sim now, saves me carrying my 2 phones about due to having a work phone

very often with these cheap chinese there will be more than one model of the 'same' phone, but with different specs
probably they just used the stock images supplied to them, and they were off the model with only 512mb RAM
probably

might be worth an email if you were going to buy one though

It's a pile of junk. avoid it.

Save yourself a whole lot of trouble and for similar money, get yourself a Huawei W1 refurb from 02 or a new Huawei Y300 from CPW.
